Dillon alighted from the maybach a few meters away from Yale University.

The day was monday, which meant a lot of students were in school.

He hurried over to his dormitory, but a student was quick to spot him. Unknown to him, the whole school knew what transpired between him and James as a student had live streamed the entire thing.

"I expected to see him limping. I thought James broke a few of his bones?"

"He's putting on a charade, I was right there at the party and saw how badly beaten he was."

Dillon increased the pace of his legs unable to withstand their chattering.

However, before he got to his dormitory, a hand reached out and pulled him into an empty hall.

Dillon placed a hand on his chest in relief seeing the person was none other than Merlin Wright, his best friend. The relief on his face disappeared when he caught sight of the bat Merlin held.

"For any reason, you wouldn't swing that at me, right?" Dillon asked, taking two steps backward.

Merlin raised a brow as he swung up the bat threateningly. He was 190 cm and had jet black hair which was styled like that of men in the late 90s, and he currently had his full lips puckered angrily.

"Merlin, are you alright?" Dillon asked, startling Merlin.

"Huh? Of course I'm fine. What do you think is wrong with me?" Merlin scoffed, refusing to meet Dillon's eyes.

Dillon took two steps forward and Merlin took four steps backwards. His action confirmed Dillon's suspicion.

"What did you do while I was away? Did you get into a fight? Did you fight James and his friends?" Dillon asked all at once, still moving closer to Merlin.

Merlin who wasn't prepared to answer, threw aside the bat and raced towards the door. However, the next second, he felt Dillon's hands on him before he was effortlessly moved backward.

"How did you get so strong—aww!" He yelped in pain when Dillon moved up his black shirt.

Thanks to its color and thickness, the shirt had soaked in the blood on his lower abdomen. It looked like a knife cut.

"What happened to you?" Dillon growled.

Merlin pulled down his shirt and pried Dillon's grip away from him. "Well, when I saw the video about James doing such to you, I was really upset. So I paid them a visit when they returned to school. It didn't end well. Come to think of it, your face is so damn smooth, when I clearly watched them mess it up. Or was the video a joke?"

As he talked, Merlin felt Dillon's face and body with his hands. To his surprise, Dillon never winced in pain.

"Was the video really a prank?" He asked, deeply puzzled.

Dillon walked to the door, opened it and poked out his head, then closed it back when he confirmed the hallway was completely ridden of any human.

"It wasn't."

"Then what was it? Why don't you have any cut on your face? Do you have the healing ability? Of course you don't, you're not from a wealthy home." Merlin blabbered.

"I'm the heir to a wealthy family." Dillon said with a straight face.

Merlin tilted his head to the side and scratched it, "An heir to a wealthy family?"

Dillon nodded.

Merlin had a serious look for a while before he got closer to Dillon and felt his forehead, "You don't look stressed, but did you by any chance hit your head somewhere? Maybe you slammed your head during the beating?"

Dillon resisted the urge to hiss as he shrugged off Merlin's hand away from his face.

"I'm serious." He scoffed and reached for the black card in his pocket. "Brayden gave this to me. He said it doesn't have a limit."

Merlin's pupils dilated at the sight of the black card. Although the family he came from couldn't compete with that of James', it was still a first tier family which meant he had gone to a lot of places and seen a lot of things.

One of those things included a black card that looked just like the one in Dillon's hands. He couldn't say it was a duplicate as not a lot of people knew what a black card looked like to copy its features word for word.

"Dillon, did you say Brayden? Like Brayden Darren?" Merlin asked, gulping down nervously.

"Oh, you know him. He found me a few hours ago and told me all about my family." Dillon smiled broadly.

Merlin stood rooted to the spot, mount agape as he stared at Dillon. So the nobody who lived his entire life in an orphanage, trampled and looked down by everyone around him turned out to be the heir of the Grendel family!

"The four big families in the capital all have their initials. T, N, G and the R families. The Taylor family and the Newton family recently revealed themselves. Who would've thought the G stands for Grendel!" Merlin filled Dillon in.

Almost immediately, his eyes widened happily, "So that's why you healed. You're from a wealthy family as well, which means you have an ability. It must be so thrilling watching your flesh cover up."

At this point, Merlin seemed more thrilled and excited at the discovery than Dillon whose life it was.

The two talked for a few more minutes before hurrying over to their dormitories since it was almost lights out.

Dillon got to his dormitory, but much to his surprise, realized his roommates were standing at the door like they had been waiting for him.

Over the course of his two years in this school, he never really interacted with them. Other than the occasional greetings he often said to them whenever he got back from work and found them still awake, he knew nothing about them.

His three roommates stood near the door, gazing at him in shock.

"It's really true. How did you manage to look so good despite the way James and his friends trashed you?"

Dillon stared at the whitehead who asked that and pursed his lips for a while, then mumbled coldly, "I'm fine."

"Hey, we're just curious. Not like we care about you." A brown haired one said, but Dillon didn't spare him a glance.

Even though he knew nothing about them, Dillon knew they were all rude like most kids from wealthy homes he had come across.

He ignored them, had his bath before retiring for the night.

The first thing Dillon did when he woke up the next day was to check if the black card was still in his pocket. He exhaled in relief confirming all that happened wasn't a dream.

His roommates were still asleep as he had woken up early. Dillon quickly had his bath, then opened his side of the wardrobe to see his new clothes stashed there.

He attended his lecture that morning then met up with Merlin afterward. On their way out of the school, he was stopped by the school's president who passed him an envelope and left immediately.

Dillon took out the letter in it only to see he had been pardoned for missing lecture yesterday. However, the next time it happened, his scholarship would be revoked.

Merlin who read the letter well couldn't help hissing, "Terminate your scholarship already and show those fools who the boss is!"

Merlin had every right to be angry as the school had done nothing other than push Dillon around. They prejudiced against him, talked down on him and did nothing even when other students bullied him.

Dillon tucked the paper away, then turned to Merlin "Can I borrow your phone?"

Merlin handed his phone over to Dillon, but the latter frowned the next moment, "He's not answering."

"Who's not answering?"

"Brayden."

Merlin quickly snatched his phone away from Dillon and ended the call, then paused.

"What is it?" Dillon asked in confusion.

"I totally forgot you're Brayden's master which means he's at your beck and call."

"Is that why you took the phone away?"

"Calling such a high and important person like Brayden on his personal number can affect my family." Merlin explained.

Dillon mumbled an 'Oh' before dialing Brayden's number again. This time, the call connected.

It was an unknown number, hence, Brayden called out first hoping it was Dillon, "Young master?"

"Yes, it's me. I'm wondering, can you hold on terminating my scholarship?"

Merlin sighed in exasperation. However, he didn't dare say anything until Dillon was done.

"What are you doing?" He half-shouted. Thankfully, his attitude wasn't something strange as students often screamed out in frustration.

"I, Dillon Grendel, have received nothing other than scorns from people. Now, everyone who humiliated and treated me like an animal will get the same treatment in ten folds."

Dillon was dumbfounded. Did this boy's iris just turn to a darker shade of blue? Like mine? Moses was obviously angered by Timothy's words as he threateningly hit his golf club on the floor as he affirmed, “Since you three have a death wish, I'll grant it. After all, it's an honor to be killed by me.” He nodded at the group of men who had alighted from the boss. With their club, the men advanced towards Dillon, Timothy, and Merlin. Dillon quickly snapped out of his thought and glanced towards the men. The first person raised his club to hit Timothy, but Dillon reached out in time to stop him. With darkened eyes, he hissed, “No matter what, you should never hit kids with such tenacity!”Then he sent the thug flying towards the bus he came with. Such a show of strength stunned the rest of them, but when they thought of the advantage they had against Dillon and Merlin, they kept advancing towards them. You just have to tell me which of them you want.” Dillon leaned forward and raised two fingers, “I want two cars. A Bugatti Veyron and a Jaguar XJ220. Deliver the Jaguar as soon as possible.” Brayden, who had taken out his phone to write down the cars Dillon called, paused and glanced up at Dillon. “Young master, the Jaguar you mentioned isn't an expensive car. Are you sure you don't mean to imply something else?” “The Jaguar is extremely fast and sleek, and it sells for a little amount compared to the rest of it. Besides, I'll be taking it with me wherever I go and since I would rather not be the center of attention by pulling up in a car worth more than ten million dollars, the Jaguar is a perfect fit.” Dillon calmly explained the reason for his choice. Brayden found it reasonable, so he nodded. “Noted, young master. What colo

But because of how scary the boss looked, they once again concluded that whoever they were guarding must be someone powerful. “I didn't know the restaurant would be receiving an important figure today. Who could it be?” “Where's the lobby manager? The lobby manager should know who he is.” Two people whispered to themselves. Suddenly, someone took in a deep breath when the group of people got into the elevator. “The one with the knife cuts on his face who looks very scary is the head of a notorious gang here in New York. They call him Rafter. But his real name is Joel Maximus.” His words sent fear into the spines of numerous people and one by one, they all returned to their seats. Everyone knew Joel Maximus. “There was only him when I went down. I apologize for not bringing you the person who specifically hired me.” Joel apologized for not bringing James. The latter was gone when he went to drag Moses to Dillon. “Who was the second person?” Dillon thought he should inquire. “James Roderick. He's best friends with Moses Lake. They've been best friends since childhood.” Joel responded. James Roderick. The person who Rachel went off with and who had Dillon beaten to a pulp and almost killed him. As a result of that incident, Dillon missed days of work and later got dismissed from his job as a delivery man. Dillon was yet to pay him a visit. But he didn't expect they'd meet again this soon. “What do you think you're doing, you fool!” Moses asked, witnessing how Joel spoke to Dillon gently. He refused to believe his eyes. It was soon evening, so Timothy returned to one of the penthouses which belonged to the Wolf family, while Dillon and Merlin returned to their hostel at Yale University. The day's activity had them exhausted. Especially the two times they fought. Thankfully, by the time Dillon returned to the hostel, his roommates were all already fast asleep. He took his bath and went to sleep. It was soon morning, and he was awakened by the sound of his roommates laughing over something. Dillon didn't want to feel it was deliberate, but as he sat up on his bed, they stopped laughing and began whispering among themselves. “Who does he think he is beating up, Moses Lake? Does he know the influence the Lake family has in New York? They can crush him as easily as an ant.” One of them said loudly. “He returned pretty late yesterday. He probably hid out until he was sure it was safe to return to the hostel. Moses will come for him sooner or later.” The second commented. The hostel at Yale University

At exactly 1pm after the lecture, which should've ended an hour ago, ended, some group of boys advanced towards the back seat. Upon seeing him, other students naturally stopped what they were doing and glanced towards the back. Leading the group of boys was Zion, who walked with the aid of a clutch.Dillon, who had seen them walking towards him, paid a blind eye to them as he stuffed his bag with the books he used for jotting down things during the lecture. The things he always jotted down weren't for him, since he had a pretty good retentive memory. They were for Merlin to study with, since he found it difficult assimilating things in a rush. Furthermore, Merlin usually sleeps throughout his classes, solely relying on the recording he made of the lecture with his phone and Dillon's note. Dillon had woken him up as soon as the class ended, and the latter was still stretching his body when he saw Zion and his boys walking towards them. “Did you get into a scuffle with your roommate?

The door to his room was pushed open and a tuxedo wearing Merlin walked in. He froze seeing the numerous branded clothes scattered all over Dillon's king-sized bed, then shifted his attention to the plain man standing in front of the mirror. "Merlin, what do you think of my outfit?" Dillon asked, still checking out his outfit. Merlin stepped into the room fully, gently closing the door behind him. "Are you going for a run?""No, why do you ask?" Dillon shook his head, obviously not noticing the sarcasm laced to Merlin's voice.

Merlin chuckled as soon as he saw Dillon. "When I saw the news that you beat up Moses Lake, I knew you were in big trouble. I just didn't expect that your father would kick you out." Dillon said the first thing that came to his mind, taking his seat beside Merlin. "My father and his wife have been looking for an opportunity to kick me out for a very long time. Now he can use my actions as an excuse to make David his heir." Merlin smiled bitterly. "You're joking, right?" Dillon raised a brow and tilted her head to look at him, "I heard your father's company is good with interior decorations. And I need a company I can trust to help me with something." Rachel moved uncomfortably in her seat, her eyes moving around the place in awe and in a little embarrassment. The receptionist had been throwing strange, but familiar glances her way. She shifted her eyes to Vanessa who was happily tapping away on her phone. "We've been here for three hours. Are you sure the chairman will still come today?" Vanessa paused for a moment and glanced up at her, "My father said he'd come. Let's wait one more hour before we leave, or are you tired of waiting?" Vanessa raised an aggressive brow which prompted Rachel to shake her head vigorously. "Of course not! I'll stay with you until we're done here!" "Good." Vanessa said and returned back to her phone. Brayden wasn't also answering his phone. His lazy eyes settled on the vice captain and the entire squad he had brought with him to impress Vanessa. “I'm here to meet someone. I've tried to reach him, but he isn't answering his phone.” Dillon said in a respectful tone, but he sounded totally overbearing. The vice captain gritted his teeth in anger when he realized he seemed far better than Dillon. This scumbag had no right to talk to him in such manner. “You're waiting for someone? Pfft! Thanks to the fact it was screen recorded, its quality wasn't as clear as before and because all posts with Dillon's name mysteriously disappeared from the net, a numerous number of people who recently came online couldn't identify him. “Let him in.” The Chancellor told the students' president. Just as Dillon parted his lips to say who he was, a familiar voice yelled out, “Chancellor!” Immediately, everyone in the room glanced towards the direction it came from. This person was a man in his late thirties, and he didn't look very familiar to Dillon. But while Dillon didn't recognize him, numerous students recognized him to be the Vice Chancellor. He hurried to the Chancellor's side and handed over the tablet, he clutched tightly, to him. The Chancellor took it, and his pupils dilated in surprise when he read the second email sent by the disciplinary committee. Apparently, their decision for expulsion was right, but they had put the wrong name. “The disciplinary committee sent a follow-up email stating there was a mix-up with the names.” The Chancellor began, his eyes going to Zion and Jethro. Then with a firm voice, he said, “From today henceforth, Zion Edward has been expelled from Yale University and is expected to vacate the premises in an hour. Failure to do so, the s
