Helplessness

“What do you mean you live here?” Ethan watched Erin get out of the car and he got out after her.

She turned to look at him and then pointed at the villa close to his.

It was a bit similar but with little differences.

“I live there.” She announced.

Ethan frowned, “You never told me you did.”

“Well, I wanted to surprise you but I guess things didn't go well today.” She shrugged as a gloomy expression formed on her face.

“Does Jonathan know you stay here? Staying alone tonight might be dangerous.”

“No, he doesn't. This house is not listed on my records. It's like my safe space.” She put his mind at ease.

She then moved closer to him, “Thank you for today, Ethan.” She was grateful that his quick thinking protected them.
