The Patient

“Hello, Emily.” Ethan greeted her as she walked with the nurse to the patient’s bedside.

“Hi, Ethan. I can see your legs are doing okay now.” It had not even been a complete day since he left the hospital in a wheelchair.

“Yes.” He replied simply, not bothering to explain himself to her.

He watched her do a few checks on the patient and she sent the nurse away.

“Were you involved in the accident scene to you? How come you are not hurt? Why are you here?” Emily asked, going to stand beside him, with him seated, she brushed her fingers on the side of his neck. She wanted to know who the woman was to him.

“Sort of…” He moved a bit away from her, as he was really concerned about the patient.

“When is she going to wake up?” He asked.

Emily frowned seeing the way he ignored her advances. “Anytime soon.”

She huffed in her mind, wondering why he was so entangled with women.
