“15 years ago”, Mia began, “My parents were desperately trying to get the Hamilton family closer to the Warrington family”.
Dean's eyebrows arched upwards. The Warrington family was one of the most powerful families in Reville, in fact they were part of the quartet known as the “Four heavenly kings”, representing the four most powerful families that basically controlled the city of Reville. And although the Warrington's were the weakest of the four, they were still incredibly powerful and commanded more influence than most could imagine.“They wanted to introduce me to their eldest son, Raymond, hoping that a relationship would form between us which would open the gates to an alliance between our two families" said Mia, still holding on to Dean.“But back then, I was a strong-headed kid… I was also 10 years old, I didn't understand family ties, politics, alliances, cooperations…. I didn't understand anything”.Mia paused and looked up to see Dean staring at her attentively.“However, when I finally met Raymond… Let's just say I didn't like him very much” Mia continued.“I found him creepy, entitled and annoying, so I made fun of him, in public, in front of his parents for everyone to see”.Dean's fists tightened. The Warrington's, as one of the Four heavenly kings of Reville were an incredibly prestigious and dangerous family. They would never tolerate such disrespect towards their eldest grandson and future heir, especially from a family they believed were lesser than them.“Well…. the Warrington's didn't like that very much, and they kicked me and my parents out of their villa”.Mia's voice was starting to strain as the memories were becoming increasingly painful.“That night, my parents beat me, a lot, and they told me that the next day, they would take me back to Warrington's home to apologize and make up with their son” continued Mia.“But like I said before, I was a kid and didn't understand much of anything, so I decided I was going to be rebellious”The limousine ground to a stop. They had arrived back at the Golden Estate, but neither of them came down from the car, as Dean wanted Mia to finish her story.“I ran away from home that day, went to stay with a childhood friend of mine, Anna, we stayed there all day”Mia smiled as she remembered, almost chuckling, but it was not a happy smile, it was one of frustration.“I remember having so much fun that day Timmy, I had no care in the world, Anna and I played all sorts of games, her parents were so nice to me” said Mia as tears began to form in her eyes.“That evening, I decided to return home, as Anna's parents were starting to get worried, but as I was heading home, I decided to a shortcut through a back alley, so I could get home much faster”Dean let out a very heavy breath, he knew that Mia would soon reach the point in her story where they would meet for the first time.He wanted to see how she would personally describe their first encounter, as he barely remembered it.“There in the back alley, I saw a boy on the floor, a little bit older than me, he had been stabbed multiple times” Mia continued.“So I decided to help him out, I carried him all the way to a nearby ambulance that took us both to the hospital.Because of that incident, I didn't return home that night as I wanted to stay with him, luckily the doctors let me”.“Did you get the boy's name?” asked Dean, curious to find out if he had ever told her his name.“Yeah I did, Only his first name though” replied Mia.“What was it?”Lifting her head to look Dean in the eyes, Mia said, “Dean, he said his name was Dean”Mia's eyes were filled with tears at this point, and she started crying heavily, she had gotten to the most painful memory of her life, the point where she would lose everything. After a few minutes of crying in Dean's comforting arms, Dean wiped her eyes and Mia was able to continue her story.“Early the next morning, I finally left the hospital and went to a nearby police station”.“The doctors told me to head to this police station after they called my parents and informed them of my location”.Mia paused, knowing what was coming.“On my way to the police station, a car..... it” she stopped, the memory was more painful than she would have thought.“That's when you got hit by the drunk driver?” asked Dean.Mia raised her eyebrows, surprised he already knew the story.“I see, it seems you already know the official story” said Mia, looking at Dean.“Well I looked into it earlier” replied Dean, and then, after raising an eyebrow in confusion, he asks “what do you mean by the official story?”“I wasn't hit by a drunk driver Timmy, that's just the story my parents made up to cover for the real culprit”“Your parents covered it up?” Asked Dean in absolute shock, “why would they do something like that?”“It's because of the people who were responsible, The Warrington's” replied Mia.Dean clenched his fist even harder in pure rage, and Mia could now feel his grip on her tighten.“After I was hit, an investigation was opened into the case, the police found the car that hit me.They discovered that it was a stolen getaway vehicle without a licence plate, that had been dumped on the side of the road shortly after the hitting me".“They concluded the accident was planned, although they couldn't decide whether it was supposed to kill me or just leave me more or less injured than I ended up being” said Mia, her eyes sunken and sad.“My parents bribed the police to record it as a classic case of a drunk hit-and-run, in order to ensure an investigation wasn't opened that would lead to war with the Warrington's”.“After I woke up, my parents basically abandoned me, they stopped talking to me, they sent me to school away from everyone else.” said Mia, as she desperately tried to hold back her tears. “My family would mock me at ever opportunity, they said it was my fault for running away from home, so I had no one else but myself to blame”“You mean to tell me that your parents threw you under the bus to appease the Warrington's because you ran away from home!?” Asked Dean, as his boiling rage was threatening to cascade over like a wave.“Yeah, they basically did” replied Mia.“And you know what's messed up, I think they're right, It was my fault, I did deserve…”“Shhh…” whispered Dean, placing his finger over her lips.“Don't you ever even think that, it was not your fault whatsoever, you were 10 years old, your parents never should have placed such responsibility on your shoulders to begin with, or at least they should have done enough to properly explain it to you”Dean took Mia's hand and finally led her out of the car to her room, where he kissed her and bid her goodnight. The Warrington's and the Hamilton's were truly a despicable bunch, thought Dean as he headed for his room.Despite his massive web of informants, spies and brokers, he had no Idea that the Warrington's were involved in Mia's accident. But now that he knew, Dean was certain of one thing, the Warrington's were now in his crosshairs. He was going to avenge his wife, and make the people who caused her so much pain and suffering, feel the wrath of the Maestro of the underworld.Dean stopped just as he reached his room door, he realized he had a few things to discuss with Carlos and didn't want the night to end just yet.He took out his phone and quickly made a call.“Carlos” he said with his phone plastered to his ear“Get the limo ready”“Where are we going boss?” asked Carlos from the other side of the phone.“The silver pearl” responded Dean before hanging up the phone. The silver pearl was an elite hangout spot, where the wealthiest of Reville's elites came to relax and communicate with each other. There, Dean sat with Carlos at a table reserved for both of them. They sat there in silence for a few minutes, enjoying their lit cigars before Dean finally spoke."Carlos, it's been a month since I returned Reville, and while I appreciate that you are here with me, it's time for you to go back to Parlsbury""No way boss, I'm with you till the end" replied Carlos."And I am telling you that you don't need to be, I can take care of myself, besides I need some one I trust back in Parlsbury representing me at Comet" said Carlos"Rest assured boss, Comet is in good hands, I trust that Jason will do a good job managing the company in your absence, I've known him for decades, you can trust him"Dean rested his chin on his fist and tilted his head, looking at Carlos with an annoyed look on his face"So you're not going to do as I say , you're not going to follow a direct order"Sensing his boss's displeasure, Carlos bowed his head as a show of reverence before uttering his next words."I've been a loyal aid to you for years Dean, I swear to you that I can be of use to you, whatever it you need, just say the words and I'll do it, but please let me stay by your side".Jason sighed, sometimes he was blindsided by Carlos's loyalty to him.Despite the fact that the man was almost ten years his senior, he had followed him with blind, unwavering reverence ever since an incident that occurred 5 years ago.And seeing Carlos use his real name, Dean, instead of calling him boss, told Dean that this was truly something Carlos really wanted to do"Alright Carlos, stay if you want""Thank you very much sir, I won't fail you" said Carlos with a smile on his face."You better not, and please don't ever publicly call me Dean, the name is Timothy Clarkson until I say otherwise", said Dean.Carlos nodded "of course boss"."Alright, now I will need you to make sure th..."Their conversation was cut short when a man in a brown trench coat walked past their chair towards the shopping centre.Dean looked at the man's hand and saw a tattoo just below his wrist, a tattoo of...A Butterfly. And like a bolt of lightning the memory struck him.He saw the knife, plunging into his chest, and the tattoo of a butterfly on his wrist. He heard the screams of his mother, telling him to flee.He felt the man's hand, grabbing his hair and dragging him into the alleyHe had just seen the man who killed his mother, the man who stabbed him three times and left him for dead.Dean grabbed his head and took incredibly deep breaths as he tried to contain the painful revelation. And slowly, his temperature and bloodlust began to rise.Something that Carlos noticed immediately.Dean hadn't planned for it, but it now seemed like he was going to have to kill someone that night.Nathan Newton walked briskly to the bakery section of the silver pearl.Today was his father's birthday, and he was there to buy him his favourite pastry as a gift.Behind him were two of his bodyguards.Ex special forces, the highest calibre of soldiers whom he paid handsomely for his protection.Perhaps it was because of this, or his confidence in his own military background and training, that he didn't notice the murderous eyes starting at him from behind. After purchasing the pastry, Nathan smiled heartily, he knew his father was going to love this.Despite the fact he was an old man, he still couldn't say no to his favourite cake.Nathan took the piece of cake and placed it in a white bag. It was expensive, costing almost 2000 dollars on its own.Signalling to his guards to follow him, he began moving towards the exit of the silver pearl.“HEY, WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING, YOU FOOL!” screamed Nathan as he suddenly bumped into a brown skinned man coming from his right.“I'm sorry” sai
Dean stood in silence for several minutes, looking at the head of the man who killed his mother. The rush of satisfaction he gained from taking his life had already faded, and he found himself slowly giving into anger. He knew he needed to make this moment more profound, more impactful, not just to him but to the people responsible."THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE!" said Dean loudly, as Carlos raised an eyebrow, while still standing in the corner.Nathan might have been the one who killed his mother, but he was merely a pawn, a pawn of the four heavenly kings who were the the true masterminds of his misfortune.Dean smiled to himself, he had just found a way to make this night more impactful."Carlos!" He called pointing in the man's direction."Get the cleaners, clean up the scene, dispose of the car, get a coffin for Nathan, ...and get me a duffle bag"With a smile Dean added "also get me information on the wearabouts of Karl Newton, I'll be paying him a visit tonight".Dean stood in silence
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?” asked Karl Newton. This was his 70th birthday, who in their right mind had the audacity to barge into his house, in front of his guests, and members of his family.Upon seeing that one of the men was carrying a coffin, Karl immediately knew that something bad was about to happen.“GUARDS!!, GUARDS!!, WHERE THE HELL ARE THE GUARDS!!” He yelled out in vain.“The guards won't be showing up” said Dean, his face still hidden behind the mask.“Don't worry, we didn't kill them, as much as I have problems with the people they work for, I understand they're just doing their job”Looking at the two men in front of him, Karl knew he had to defuse the situation, he didn't know what they wanted, so he had to stall them until someone called the police.“Who are you?” asked Karl.“That's for me to know, and you to find out… and trust me, you will find out” replied Dean.“That's for you to know?” asked Orville in a very annoyed tone.Who did these men think they were
Dean smiled as he let go of Karl Newton's lifeless body.A feeling of intense satisfaction surged through his body, since he knew that Karl had recognized him before he died.He had been able to take down one of the four heavenly kings of Reville, responsible for the death of his mother, in barely a month of returning to Reville. He was already a quarter of the way through with his revenge.Dean looked across the hall room of terrified guests, he knew it wouldn't be too long before the police arrived, but he had to say something to the people in the room first.“Just so you know, all of you here are guilty of something, so count yourselves lucky that it is not I, you have wronged”.With that said, Dean signalled to Carlos, and they both left the Newton mansion. The police would arrive some thirty minutes later, due to a mysterious cyberattack that left their communications jammed. When they arrived, the chaos Dean left in his wake had mostly subsided. All the guests that attended the b
Dean and Carlos left the Newton Mansion shortly after the death of Karl Newton. However, as they exited the large compound, they knew there was a chance the police would be on their trail, so they had to distract them.“Carlos” Dean called.“Yes Boss” responded Carlos.“Hand me the tablet, I need to ensure that the police are kept busy for a while”Carlos then handed Dean his tablet, which Dean then quickly used to hack into the Reville police servers, and quietly locked them down.It would take the police around thirty minutes to an hour to unlock them, enough time for Carlos and Dean, to leave absolutely no evidence of their presence. After this was done, Dean and Carlos got into a waiting limousine, and drove to the Reville cemetery. It was a yearly tradition at this point, for Dean to go visit his mother's grave on the anniversary of her death.A tradition he had started, years before he even returned to Reville.Once the limousine arrived at the cemetery, they both got out of the
“Timmy, I have a question for you”.“Of course Mia, what is it?” asked Dean, taking her hand“I have seen you Timmy, you always tell me how you're not rich, and you consider yourself working class, but you drive a limousine everywhere and live in this incredible palace, how can you afford all his?” Asked Mia curiously.Dean sighed but maintained his smile, he knew Mia would ask this question sooner or later, luckily he had already prepared an answer for her beforehand.“You see Mia, the explanation is quite simple..” responded Dean.“A friend of mine gave it to me”Mia rests her jaw on her fist, while staring at Dean blankly, obviously not buying into the lie.“Really?, you have friends that can afford to give you a place like this for free?” asked Mia in disbelief.Dean smiled, it seemed Mia was prepared to not make this easy for him.“Yes, one of my wealthy friends…. uh, John, and he didn't give it to me for free, I actually don't love here, I am merely watching them for him” replied
Dean and Mia, head to a clothing store inside the Golden Estate.Dean intended to sponsor another massive makeover for her, one that would give her enough confidence to face her family again. He was determined to make sure that when they were done, every member of her family who saw her would be stunned. This would be Mia's second makeover since she got her legs back, and she was quite excited.Mia and Dean walked through multiple clothing sections within the store, with Mia selecting the clothes she thought fit her best to try on for later. At first, she was intentionally picking clothes that were cheap to be mindful of Dean's finances, but soon, Dean noticed this and assured her that she should pick whatever she wanted without worry, and he would pay for them. After selecting and trying on multiple pieces of clothing, Mia finally settled on a low shoulder cut blouse, paired with tight blue jeans and shin-high black boots. It was an outfit that hugged her every curve and truly showed
“Mia?” asked Andrew as he looked at the gorgeous woman in front of him. “Is that really you?”“Yes dad, it's actually me” Mia said with a hint of pride in her voice.Everything Dean had told her had come to pass before her very eyes.Just like he had told her, her appearance absolutely stunned her parents. Seeing her parent's expressions change in real time after recognizing her, filled Mia up with so much pride and self-confidence, more than she had ever felt in her entire life. But little did she know that her parents were going to take an entirely different approach to her new look.“How…. how is this even possible?, how did this happen?” asked Andrew, still in absolute shock.Mia, squeezing Dean's hand tightly as she was about to tell her parents about the surgery Dean performed on her.“Physical therapy” replied Dean before Mia could speak, “You'll be surprised just how far it can go”Andrew and Sophia frowned heavily after hearing Dean's voice.“We didn't ask you anything young
