Jaxon’s expression showed irritation. “I remember you! You are the brat from that day—”
The formation of the quarry was like a deep crater. The only way in and out was through the narrow path created by two mountains which the bandits blew up, trapping themselves inside.
Jin was atop the wall of the crater. Using his abilities, he climbed the side of the quarry and reached the peak. Staring down at them, Jin sneered. “So, what if I am?”
Jin jumped down. The impact of his landing raised clouds of dust, and rubble flew in different directions.
Jaxon, taken aback by his action, clenched his fists. “Be careful. That guy evolved!”
His fellow bandits heard the words that came out of their leader’s mouth. They gulped a mouthful
Jin defeated Jaxon, the bandit leader. His remaining forces surrendered. Some even joined Kroll and his group. They kicked out the others.Several days after what happened at the Quarry, Jin and the others moved to a place without fumes. He had already set the plan in motion when they headed to the bandit camp. The people at the quarry heard of a secure location. A village at the top of mount Rockell, not so far from where they were, but because of the bandits, they couldn’t leave. Even if they tried, the tower would report it to the bandits.According to the rumor, the village supposedly had walls, food, and water. Jin, Kroll, and their group followed a few days after Jorge and Coral left. They had no way to communicate and confirm the rumor, therefore they could only see with their own eyes.Besides that, Jin had to explain the situation with the evolutions he and the bandit leader Jaxon had gone through.
At the top of Mount Rockell, Coral patiently sits at the gate. She refused to leave that post. The people at the village admired her tenacity and, after several tries to have her go inside, they gave up.Jorge, with sorrowful eyes, approached the raven-haired woman. “Lady Coral, why don’t you come inside? The last few nights have been chilly…”Coral’s eyes brimmed with hope whereas her trembling voice echoed her worry and defiance to his words. “No! Not until I see my son! It’s my solace. Let me have this?!”Jorge could only sigh at her stubbornness. He went back inside and returned with a blanket. “At least use this…”“T-Thank you!”***
Jin looked at the burly man straight in the eyes. He wore a sleeveless black t-shirt. His muscular arms had veins bulging. With a face made of sharp cheekbones, one would think they could cut themselves if they touched it the wrong way. Jin kept his composure. With ease, he brushed the burly man’s hand off his shoulder. His mind ran rampant on what this person could want from him. Someone he never met before. “Talk about what?” Not having any difficulty releasing himself from his grip shocked the burly man. In his eyes, Jin looked like a bug he could easily squash. Regardless, he showed him the respect and didn’t dwell on the details. “My name is Yusef. Please allow me to protect Lady Coral!” “Huh?!” Out of the million things Jin thought, the words that came out of Y
Jin stared at it. Something he hadn’t previously noticed was the tag over its head.{Undead Level 2}“So that’s how it is… No wonder that thing was strong…”Jin stayed down, keeping its movements in check with his sixth sense. He found it weird it didn’t attack him as soon as it spotted him, therefore Jin didn’t attack either. Then a thought popped into his mind. “Is it waiting for me to stand up first?”Jin realized; the undead stared in his direction and yet it didn’t attack. He thought
Right after defeating the level 2 corpse, Jin went and helped with the horde that gave Kroll and others a hard time. With almost all his abilities raised in terms of speed and strength, it was a swift victory. He even had the time later to gather cores. An uneventful week passed by until one night, the infected breached the wooden wall of Zither village. For some unknown reason, the guards keeping watch at the time were not at their posts. Growls during the quietness of the night were a normal occurrence, which is why the people in the village paid no mind to it, appearing to be closer than other times. They knew they were safe. If anything happened, the guards keeping watch would inform them in time. Only this time, it didn’t happen. Jin was asleep in his tent when the scream from a girl woke him up. He jumped out of the bed and went outside, only to see the village overrun with corpses, feasting on the villagers and people in tents. A couple of undead surrounded him, but he easi
With Rena behind the wheel, they reached the city. It was a place Jin had never been before. Since he saw the skyscrapers from Zither village, he wanted the chance to visit it.From the moment they entered, Jin’s mouth distorted in amazement. The tall buildings stretched as high as the eye could see. The massive city was nothing like his Colby town. which accommodated houses down a slightly descending area. This massive city appeared as something extraordinary to Jin. Rena, though who grew up here, had a simple blank expression on her face. “Let’s keep going…”She drove through the abandoned streets. Fire still burnt in some buildings. The crackling sound of it produced aroused an eerie sensation. Like a ghost city, it expanded before them. Jin kept his guard up the entire time since entering the city.Rena kept a steady low speed while looking around at the state her once home had become. A sudden movement caught Jin’s attention. He hurriedly put his hand on Rena’s shoulder. “Wait! W
Known as the home of tarts, Lumina city has one of the best bakeries in the world. Giuseppe’s bakeries held the record for the tastiest tart. The owner started his own little shop before the city expanded to what it was today. Later, when people poured in from all over, wanting to try the famous tart, they came back again and again, which helped with the progress of Lumina. Eventually, corporations built their headquarters in the city and the little bakery became lost in the vast sea of concrete. Rena and Jin found shelter in Giuseppe’s for the night. A brilliant silver moon shone on the city. The shadows of the infected accompanied their growls as they roamed the streets. Rena peaked through the curtain. Her voice came out almost like a whisper. “It’s the same as before. The dead walk around in great numbers.” Jin, in a seated position, leaned back on the counter facing the entrance. “You said you have a plan?” “Yes, if you noticed where we are, the building next to us faces the
Jin grabbed the wire rope in time, only to swing and crush on the school’s brick wall. The sudden impact made him lose his grip. He grabbed it once more and slid down for about an entire floor before he could strengthen his grasp.“Jin, are you ok?!”He gritted his teeth. There was no pain and for that he was secretly relieved, but the friction just now nearly reached the bones of his fingers. With two floors to climb, Jin cursed his luck. “I’m fine! I’ll be right over!”Not minding anything else, he pulled himself up, using the wire rope until he reached the roof. Rena let out a sigh of relief and helped him over. She gasped at the sight of his palms. Blood dripped uncontrollably. The flesh vanished entirely.Without saying a single word, Rena ripped a piece of cloth and wrapped his hands. She didn’t know about his skill or that he’ll soon be fine, and Jin chose not to tell her either. Since she’s willing to help, he’ll gladly accept it.Even the Bronze Skin of level 2 couldn’t do an
