Repainting

Upon returning home, Lilyana swiftly donned her maid uniform, diving headfirst into her duties. Meanwhile, Justus lounged on the sofa, raptly absorbing the butler's meticulous rundown of the day's events.

"Young master, we've successfully cleared the clutter, but several sections in this suite have been contaminated, requiring wall repainting. It’s unlikely you can move in before the week's end," the butler meticulously reported his progress.

Undaunted, Justus pressed on, "Let's skip the repainting and just replace the everyday furnishings. You have three days; I must be inhabiting by then."

With another uncompromising directive issued, the butler, though somewhat helpless, nodded and promptly departed to execute Justus's orders.

After dinner, Justus summoned the self-defense instructor they had enlisted to assess their ability to teach Lilyana. The butler had been confident in his choice, little expecting that, within a mere ten moves, Justus remained unscathed while the instructor writhed in agony on the floor.

"Is this the person you picked?" Justus's expression turned icy as he fixed a gaze upon the butler, instilling a modicum of fear, despite his familiarity with Justus's dominance.

"I apologize, young master... I..."

"Remove him immediately. I don't want to see him again," Justus dismissed the matter, promptly returning to his equipment, resuming his arduous training regimen.

The butler promptly summoned security to escort the instructor out and vowed to find a genuinely capable replacement.

"If you struggle to find a suitable candidate, explore Angel Street. Any random rogue there could offer better instruction than these self-proclaimed instructors. Additionally, make sure to find a female instructor. I'd rather not have that naive girl..." Justus withheld further comments. Given Lilyana's innocence, she might be at a disadvantage during self-defense training.

In his pursuit of equipping himself with the genuine skills required to protect both him and Azaria in the future, Justus insisted on flawless execution at every step.

The butler found himself perplexed by Justus's response but nodded in agreement.

The second day arrived, mirroring the previous day's routine.

"Good morning."

"Good morning."

Azaria's demeanor remained kindly, though her complexion appeared somewhat off. Upon spotting Justus, she forced a smile before stifling a yawn behind her hand.

"What's wrong? Didn't sleep well?" Justus couldn't help but notice the oddity. Azaria maintained impeccable sleep patterns, retiring well before eleven. Yet, presently, she appeared exceedingly fatigued, her vitality noticeably diminished.

"Yes, my new neighbors suddenly embarked on renovations late into the night," Azaria replied, with a hint of exasperation.

Justus's thoughts immediately gravitated toward the butler's machinations, and he subtly shifted his gaze before exclaiming, "Unbelievable! They have absolutely no consideration, starting their renovations so late!"

"Yeah, my uncle had a heated argument with them yesterday, but they managed to send him away with just a few words," Azaria's wry smile grew more pronounced. Justus responded casually, tapping away on his phone while texting the butler. "If you disrupt the peace again tonight, butler, be ready to be my punching bag!"

It wasn't clear whether the butler's actions were intentional retaliation, but the way he was handling the renovations had caught the attention of the entire floor, even though Justus and Azaria hadn't officially become neighbors yet.

At this rate, instead of strolling hand in hand with Azaria toward a brighter future, Justus feared that Azaria might start considering himself an unruly troublemaker.

The more Justus dwelled on it, the more troubled he became. Luckily, Azaria, feeling unwell, paid little heed to Justus's odd behavior. She slouched weakly on the table, looking somewhat drowsy.

Azaria maintained this posture until the physical education class was about to begin, and she still seemed lifeless.

"Azaria, how about heading to the infirmary and lying down?" Justus expressed concern. Azaria was known for her disciplined routine and had never stayed up late, let alone pulled an all-nighter.

Now she resembled someone who had just woken up from a night of heavy drinking. It was clear how disruptive the butler's actions had been for her last night, all in the name of rushing the renovations.

Though the Wallace family had its typical style, Justus was now realizing how embarrassing it was for the first time.

"It's okay; I'm hoping to avoid too much physical activity during the first PE class," Azaria weakly shook her head. Her complexion still showed signs of discomfort, not because of a lack of sleep, but due to something else entirely...

"Could it be that you've started your period?" Justus immediately considered this possibility as he observed her condition.

"Yeah, I didn't get enough sleep yesterday, and my period happened to start," Azaria felt somewhat embarrassed discussing this topic with Justus. Since he had asked so directly, she had no choice but to provide an explanation.

"Have your periods always been this uncomfortable?" Justus was even more puzzled. In their recollection, Azaria seemed like an unbreakable spirit, seemingly immune to any discomfort during her period. So, it felt as if he were learning about this for the first time.

Azaria remained silent, hinting at unspoken matters, likely connected to family issues judging by her reaction.

"Let's go; I'll accompany you to the infirmary. Lilyana, could you help me request leave for Azaria?" After considering it, Justus made a final decision.

"Well... okay." Lilyana hesitated but couldn't defy Justus's directive. She walked away, looking somewhat pitiable.

"After you've informed the teacher, you can meet us at the infirmary," Justus sighed with exasperation as he watched Lilyana depart.

Finally, Lilyana smiled and hurried off.

By now, the classroom had emptied considerably. Justus reached out his hand and gently tried to assist Azaria, who no longer resisted. Azaria extended her slightly chilly hand, and they held hands as they slowly made their way to the infirmary.

"Why are you two back?" The nurse on duty today was the same as yesterday. She wore a mildly surprised expression upon seeing Justus return.

"She's not feeling well, so I'm accompanying her," Justus gestured to Azaria beside him.
