Chapter 5

Tracy, stop with your lies. You're causing harm to innocent people," Elena said firmly, holding onto her two-year-old child as she approached Tracy, ready to confront her.

Tracy glared at Elena, her eyes filled with fury. "Mind your own business. This doesn't concern you," she spat.

Undeterred, Elena stood tall, as she spoke. "It does concern me. Alexander is not a rapist, and I know he would never harm you."

Tracy's face reddened with her fake tears, and she clenched her fists. "How dare you! You're a disgraced woman with a child born out of wedlock. You have no right to judge me!" The crowd gasped, shocked by Tracy's harsh words.

Elena felt the weight of their judgement as the crowd either laughed or mocked her. She had always carried the shame of having a child out of wedlock, and Tracy had just humiliated her in front of everyone.

Tears welled up in Elena's eyes as Tracy continued to lash out with insults.

Meanwhile, Alexander, who barely knew Elena, was taken aback by her courage in confronting Tracy. He took a step forward saying, "Enough, Tracy! You've crossed the line!"

He reached out and held Tracy's hands, their eyes locked in a tense gaze.

Unbeknownst to Elena, her two-year-old son bravely walked towards Alexander, following the path created by the mesmerised onlookers. Fear gripped Elena's heart as she realised her child was no longer in her embrace.

"Charles!" she called out desperately, searching for her little boy.

To her astonishment, Charles had made his way to Alexander, standing before him. Alexander, filled with intense emotions, saw the child with golden locks of hair resembling his own.

Then, to his utter surprise, the child called out, "Daddy!" as he extended his tiny hands towards Alexander, as if urging him to lift him up.

Tracy, in her shocked state, couldn't help but be captivated by the scene. Elena's attention shifted back to her baby boy, hearing his voice as he called Alexander "Daddy."

Tracy's gaze shifted between the child and Alexander, unable to ignore the striking resemblance between them. With a sense of urgency, Elena rushed over to where Alexander stood, swiftly taking her child from the ground.

Initially, the crowd struggled to comprehend the unfolding situation, but Tracy's next words served as an opening eye to the audience

"Elena, don't tell me that you cheated behind my back and Alexander is the father of your child," Tracy finally concluded.

Elena remained silent, refraining from disclosing the child's paternity. Alexander, shocked and perplexed, stared at the quiet Elena, unable to fathom the situation unfolding before him.

"It's impossible. I can't be his father. I have never slept with any woman in my life," Alexander thought to himself, realising he was still a virgin.

The insults that Tracy directed at Elena felt like they were all directed at him. "Oh! Why wouldn't you support your lover? After all, birds of the same feathers flock together," Tracy emphasized.

Observing the anger in Tracy's eyes and the chaos that  Alexander had caused, James wanted to  intervene.

"Alexander, just wait and see what happens next. You think you can ruin this day for me, but you're sorely mistaken, rapist," James said, as the next turn of events surprised them all—the police entered the hall.

"Take him away, he is the rapist officer," James pointed at Alexander directing them to arrest him.

The room fell into a chilling silence as the police officer's authoritative voice echoed in the hall.

"Alexander Starius, you're under arrest for assaulting and raping Tracy Harrington." the officer declared, accusing him

Alexander's heart raced, and he couldn't stand still as he heard the allegations leveled against him. Elena, witnessing the arrest, knew the truth—that Alexander was innocent—but the corrupt officers seemed determined to ignore it.

"Officer, you're making a grave mistake! Alexander would never commit such an act," Elena pleaded desperately.

The police officer, devoid of empathy, met Elena's plea with a cold, dismissive glare. "Save your breath, Miss Darius. We have evidence that suggests otherwise," the officer retorted, a sinister smirk playing on his lips. "Our 'investigation' has conveniently brought us here."

Tracy, pleased with the turn of events she had orchestrated, couldn't help but taunt Alexander further. "Finally, justice catches up with you, Alexander. No more escaping the consequences of your actions."

Alexander, sensing foul play at hand, stepped forward, "You can't arrest him without proper evidence," Alexander protested as the police officers approached him with handcuffs.

James had already paid them in advance to do everything possible to ensure Alexander would go to prison, taking advantage of the corrupt system that allowed such schemes.

As the cuffs clasped around Alexander's wrists,

Alexander struggled against them as they held him still. "Tracy, tell them this is all just a misunderstanding!" Alexander tried to plead for his innocence, but his words fell on deaf ears as the police took him away.
