Chapter 109: Artifact Location

Determined, we pressed forward into the dark corridor. The ancient symbols on the walls glowed brighter as if sensing our resolve. The air grew colder and more oppressive with each step, but we knew we had to retrieve the artifact despite the elder's warnings.

The passage twisted and turned, leading us deeper into the heart of the island. Suddenly, we emerged into a massive cavern. In the center, on a raised stone pedestal, the artifact glowed with an ethereal light. It was a crystalline sphere, pulsing with energy, encased in intricate metalwork.

"That's it," Lena whispered, her eyes wide with awe.

"Be careful," Mara warned. "Remember the curse."

I nodded, stepping cautiously toward the pedestal. As I reached out to touch the artifact, the ground beneath us began to shake violently.

"The cave's collapsing!" Elias shouted, his voice echoing off the walls.

Chunks of rock started to fall from the ceiling, and deep cracks spread across the floor. We had to act fast.
