“Your father authorized us to follow you wherever you go.” The first military man said.

“I said I'll be fine. I just want to see a friend in the next avenue, no one knows I'm going there.”

“For all we know, your adversary might be watching and we can't flout your father's orders.” The second military man insisted.

“And I insist that I must go alone!” Maya said almost in tears.

“We can't let you do that.” The first military man said, without looking at her.

They stood erect behind her and when she took a step they followed her. She took another and the same thing happened.

“What about my privacy? Is this invasion of privacy?” Maya asked shouting at the top of her voice.

They kept straight faces and looked forward, not minding how she felt.
