As they finished their ice cream, Mia let out a satisfied sigh, her face smeared with chocolate and mint. Davin couldn’t help but chuckle at her delight. “You’ve got a bit of ice cream on your nose, kiddo,” he teased, reaching over with a napkin.

Mia giggled, swiping at her nose with the back of her hand. “It’s part of the experience!” she declared with the seriousness of a gourmet critic.

“Then I suppose I’m not allowed to clean you up,” Davin replied, exchanging a knowing glance with Helen.

The sun shone brightly overhead, and the market was a riot of colors and sounds. Families milled about, vendors called out their wares, and the laughter of children filled the air. The moment felt suspended in time, a perfect snapshot of happiness that Davin wished could last forever.

“Let’s take a stroll down by the river after this,” Helen suggested, finishing her ice cream. “I heard they have a small arts and crafts fair set up along the walkway.”
