Davin held his cheek, it was now red.
“What was that for?” Davin asked, staring at Isabella with hatred. How dare she hit him, if not for one thing he'll have made her crawl on her knees, he was far older than her.
“Do you need a reminder before you clean up the house? Can't you see the party is over and the place is a mess?” Isabella said she was so confident that there was nothing Davin could do to her, with just a gesture she could send her bodyguards to beat him up, he was super vulnerable to her.
“Don't you ever hit me again” Davin warned, Isabella was shocked by his reaction, she had never seen him so angry and fierce looking before. Although her bodyguards were around she could swear she felt afraid a bit.
“Or else what. What will you do if I hit you again?” Isabella asked.
Davin ignored her, he then walked away, arguing with an amateur like Isabella was pointless. He got a broom and started cleaning up the entire mansion, he knew even if Isabella didn't remind him, he'll still be the one to clean up the mansion. And for some reason he was glad it was her who called him and not his mother Victoria, otherwise it might have been worse than just a slap.
“Such an insolent fool” she gestured walking away.
Davin and the rest of the house helps were almost done cleaning, it took them almost all through the night to finish cleaning. Davin reached his wife's door, they usually sleep in different rooms, she had never allowed Davin to touch her, and whenever he gets horny she requests for a million dollars before they could get intimate with each other. Knowing fully well that he could not afford it.
Davin heaved a sigh then walked past the door, then he paused in his movement. He was hearing some strange sound coming from his wife's room,
He walked backwards to get a clear hearing, and he wasn't wrong. He could clearly hear sounds, not normal sounds but moaning sounds.
“Arh…arh…harder baby. Shit harder”
The voice was clearly Maya's.
“I'm going harder baby girl” a masculine voice replied.
At this point Davin felt like collapsing, he didn't need a suit to tell him what's going on in there. ‘no no no. This can't be happening’
Davin pushed the door open forcefully. And to his expectations, Maya was giving a dog to another man. “Derek?!” Davin exclaimed.
“What the f*** Are you here!” Maya rushed to cover herself with a blanket.
“How dare you interrupt us?” Derek asked .
“Maya. How could you” Davin clenched his fist.
“Hey dirty man, get out of the room, I was about to get to the best part” Derek rubbed salt in his wounds.
“You rich bastard” Davin walked inside as he grabbed Derek by his arms and pulled him away from Maya.
“I'm going to teach you a lesson” Davin punched at his face. Derek fell down, he was wearing only blue boxers.
“Davin, stop right now, I command you!” Maya screamed, but at this point Davin had gone berserk, he was going to listen to no one.
Davin raised Derek up, he then smashed his face on the mirror placed on the wall shattering it in an instant. “Argh” Derek groaned in severe pain as blood dripped down from his face. But Davin wasn't showing mercy.
“Davin, stop. Help, mother! Security!” Maya called out for help, as immediately three hefty men bounced into the room
“Get him out of here, he's gone mad” Maya instructed as the men did what she instructed.
But Davin gave a f*** to no one, he was ready to fight with the guards also, he kicked at one and elbowed the other.
Not long the entire family members rushed in seeing the rough display of Davin.
“Oh my goodness” Victoria covers her mouth in shock, she had never seen Davin so dangerous, no one had, he had always been the quiet and patient type.
“Somebody, do something,” Isabella yelled.
They were all confused and shocked how strong Davin had become all of a sudden.
“I said enough!” Maya gave Davin a hot slap, not once but twice. Immediately Davin froze, it was as if her slap was a pill.
He felt his world crumbling into a dark turmoil.
‘Did she just slap me for him?’
Davin held back his tears, he was too strong to cry over a woman. “Get him out of here!” Maya yelled again. It was then the guards were able to get at him, one of them hit Barton on his back head, as he fell down. His eyes became blurry, the last thing he could see was Maya running to the side of an injured Derek. "Derek darling, are you okay?" She asked with concern.
And then he went black out.
‘Maya…’

“Davin! Helen!” she called out, her voice loud enough to attract the attention of other visitors. “I heard about Mom. Is she okay?”“Maya,” Davin said, keeping his voice steady. “What are you doing here?”“I came to support my family,” she said, tilting her head slightly. “Isn’t that what family does?”Helen shot Davin a look, and he felt the tension rise between them. “Support?” he echoed, doubt lacing his tone. “Or to make sure everyone knows you’re here?”Maya laughed, a sound that felt more like a challenge. “Oh, come on. I know you’re not happy about my wedding plans, but can we not turn this into a competition? This is about Mom.”“Right. Let’s just focus on her,” Davin said, frustration boiling beneath the surface. “But don’t pretend that you aren’t looking for attention.”“Seriously, Davin?” Maya shot back, her voice sharp. “You think I’m here for a show? I’m worried about her too, you know.”“You have a funny way of showing it,” he replied, crossing his arms.“Enough,” Helen

Davin sat at the dinning table, a half-finished cup of coffee in front of him, flipping through a stack of paperwork from work. The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow, but a sense of unease gnawed at him. Just then, Helen burst into the room, her face a mix of urgency and concern.“Davin! We need to talk,” she said, her voice tight with anxiety. He looked up, instantly alert. “What’s wrong?”“It’s your mother. I just got a call from the hospital. She’s seriously ill,” Helen said, her words tumbling out in a rush. “They’re flying her out of Arctic City for specialized medication.”Davin’s heart sank. “What do you mean, ‘seriously ill’? What’s going on?”“They didn’t give me all the details, just that she needs immediate treatment,” Helen replied, her eyes brimming with concern. “They’re arranging a private jet to get her to the mainland for the best care.”“Why didn’t they call me?” he asked, rising from the table, the papers scattering as he stood.“I think t
Chapter 162
As they finished their ice cream, Mia let out a satisfied sigh, her face smeared with chocolate and mint. Davin couldn’t help but chuckle at her delight. “You’ve got a bit of ice cream on your nose, kiddo,” he teased, reaching over with a napkin.Mia giggled, swiping at her nose with the back of her hand. “It’s part of the experience!” she declared with the seriousness of a gourmet critic. “Then I suppose I’m not allowed to clean you up,” Davin replied, exchanging a knowing glance with Helen. The sun shone brightly overhead, and the market was a riot of colors and sounds. Families milled about, vendors called out their wares, and the laughter of children filled the air. The moment felt suspended in time, a perfect snapshot of happiness that Davin wished could last forever.“Let’s take a stroll down by the river after this,” Helen suggested, finishing her ice cream. “I heard they have a small arts and crafts fair set up along the walkway.”“Great idea! Mia, what do you think?” Davin
