Mandy heaved a sigh "It's my company Declan and I...."

"Okay. If you insist." Mandy rolled her eyes, slapping the file shut.

She had guessed that Declan would pick May and was ready to work with her if that meant making it up him. But it seemed he was not a big fan of the idea.

Declan nevertheless nodded in agreement. He obviously wanted this opportunity for May, but also believed she should get it by her own merit not because he picked her in. She was competent and the best person for the job. The HR will spot that right away.

Mandy shifted from her office seat, standing on her feet. "Since you can't pick me a partner, can you at least accompany me to a meeting with one?"
