Chapter Forty-Five.
It was the opening ceremony. May Williams sat in her living room sipping from her champagne glass. She was dressed in her night robe, her hair dropped free at her back. Footsteps approached from the hallway.

"You have to be kidding me! What are you doing dressed like that?! The ceremony is few hours!"

"Not now mom, I already told you I'm not going."

"Hell you won't. Now get up now!"

"There she goes again" May rolled her eyes.

"I will do more if you don’t lift your ass off that seat. Do you even know what you're doing? How will you miss a great opportunity like this one?"

"There’s nothing to miss. She won't pick me so forget it."

"And what makes you think that? You’re very much qualified. You're young, smart and single handedly revived a dying company to stand tall. I bet there's no other person more qualified than you're."

May flashed a fake smile. "That was quite flattering. But you won't understand."

May turned away, her attention snapping back to her phone.
