Chapter Forty-Six.

Nathan's scowl deepened. It was as though hot steam fumed from his body.

"But..." May began in confusion, then paused with a flash in her eyes. Realization struck her. Could Nathan be here for the same reason as everyone else?

"OMG." Her hands flew to her mouth. She didn't ask for any of this.

"Thanks for coming."

"It was a pleasure. What you did here today was exceptional. Keep the good work going."

"Oh I will. Have a safe drive" Mandy shook hands with the last guest and watched his ride leave.

She turned to her company. "It's just us now" She smiled, glancing around. Everywhere was empty, like it wasn't swamped with dinner guests just some moments ago.

"Champagne?"

"Water." May's tone was cold.

"A glass of champagne and water please." Mandy called out to the bartender.

Moments of silence past between the ladies. They had a lot to say to each other but seemed to be waiting for the first to speak up.

"Why did you do it?" May started.

"The Mandy's movement? You know, growing
