The spotlight landed on the Ashers booth signaling that it was their turn to advance to the gala hall. Mandy and Declan stood up with smiles on their faces and walked out of the booth.

May looked at the both of them while Clara's mouth dropped.

“What is that useless ex-husband of yours doing with the titanium queen?” She asked, without getting over her shock.

“Apparently they are acquaintances. Didn't know until the day I won the partnership. Turns out he was the one who had her offer it to me.” May explained and Clara's face paled.She cleared her throat and adjusted on her seat, getting ready for the next words she thought to hint.

“Well, I suppose it's a good thing that the divorce papers haven't been legalized by a lawyer.” Clara said and May gasped at her mother's words.

“Mum, I can't believe you just said that. You pestered me to divorce him and now you wish we were never divorced?” May said in disbelief.
