At the Asher’s group, Mandy was seated behind her desk at the office when the mini speaker at the top of her desk buzzed.‘ma’am, there are people here to see you. General Jayden Thompson and Mr. Jordan Smith. Should I send them in?’Mandy reached for a button and clicked on it.“Let them in and let no one disturb us with the exception of Declan Kings.” Mandy said. She closed the work on her laptop and shut it when her office door opened. Jayden and Jordan walked into the office, closing the door behind them.“General Thompson, Mr. Smith. It's nice to see you this morning.” She said, rising to her feet and ushering them to the office lounge. “Please, take a seat.” They all sat down and Mandy raised her head to Jordan before turning to the general. “To what do I owe the pleasure? Last I checked I was meant to be off your radar.” She said standing and walking towards a fridge at the side of the room. “Does anyone care for a drink?”“A scotch will do.” Jayden answered with a smile.
“Welcome to my humble abode.”Jayden and Jordan walked into the house. Declan closed the door behind them before leading them into the living room. “Please take a seat.” He said with a smile. “Is there anything I can offer you?”“Not really. We just came from the Ashers company and we're served there to our heart's content.” Jayden declined with a smile. “Thanks for asking though.”Declan took a seat opposite the two men looking from Jordan to Jayden. “So, to what do I owe the pleasure of two prominent figures in my abode?” Declan asked, his facial expression hardening as he fixed his sight of Jordan who was reddening in anger. “We are here in respect to what Mr. Smith had told me.” Jayden said, ignoring the hard gaze he was receiving from Declan. “I am sure you were acquainted with Tom, the right hand man of Jordan?”“Yes. Now I think of it, I haven't been seeing him around lately. Has something happened to him?” Declan asked and Jordan slammed his hand on the table. “Drop the
Declan clicked on a button and watched the gate closing behind Jordan's car as it drove out. He tossed the tables to the couch before reaching for his phone that had been buzzing non stop since the general and Jordan made their way out of the house. “Hello Mandy. He answered the call. “Have they left yet? I mean Jayden and Jordan?” “Yes. They were about leaving before you started making my phone buzz. They just left by the way, ” Declan asked. “So what happened between the two of you? Did you find out what relates Jordan to the general?”“Yes. Apparently, General Jayden Thompson is the uncle of Tom… Jordan's right hand man and he says Tom was his favorite nephew.” Declan explained as Mandy gasped. “It would seem that Jordan had called him and told him that I killed Tom and was still roaming around freely in the city.”“So despicable. Didn't believe that Jordan could see you as that much of a threat to want to eliminate you so—.” Mandy abruptly paused with a gasp. “Mandy, what's
The hall went silent as the sound of the slap resounded through it.Everyone turned to the source of the sound to see Jordan on his knees holding his cheeks with Declan standing over him. “You dare to hit me?” Jordan said, raising his feet glaring daggers at Declan whose countenance was flat. “Would you like me to do so again?” Declan said, raising his hand. An arm grabbed his hand from behind forcing it down. “Enough! What is going on here?” Jayden barked, looking at Declan like he was the only one caught. “He hit me, this useless fool actually hit me.” Jordan growle. He wanted to lunge at Declan but Jayden blocked him.“Well, I guess I will have to clean this off.” Declan said, forcing his arm from Jayden's grasp before walking away.“What happened?” Jayden asked, watching Declan walk out of the hall. “I did as I was asked. He just slapped me from the blue before I was able to apologize.” Jordan said with gritted teeth. “I will get him for this.”“No, you will let him be. Dec
Jordan looked at the phone that Declan pulled out and sneered. “What is that supposed to do? Scare me?” He asked but Declan gazed at him with no emotion.“Scares you? Of course not. This is meant to terrify you.” Declan said, dialing some numbers on the phone before raising it to his ear. “Hello Marshall Jones.” Jayden's face paled when he heard the name slip from Declan's mouth. “You are bluffing. There is no way that someone of your caliber would know a Marshall when you don't even know who the general standing before you is.” Jordan said with a smug. Declan ignored him, pressing his head firmer to the ground. The person at the other side of the phone said something and Declan dropped the call then turned to Jayden. “You know, trying to come after me especially when you don't know anything about your nephew's death was a really bad move.” Declan said looking at the general who was still shocked as to whether Declan knew who the Marshall he had mentioned was. “Did Jordan here
"So tell me, what was the commotion about?"May asked Declan softly, gazing at him. Declan had offered to drop her off at home after the buffet to gain a private moment with her. "Errm... It's nothing serious—""Not again Declan Kings. I was there myself and witnessed everything that happened. You actually did slap Mr Smith Jordan, Declan. Trust me, I know you well to tell that there was more to that reaction order than a mere food spill." May stated firmly. If anything, she was not going to back down this time until Declan finally came clean with her. Declan saw the seriousness on her face and knew he was not getting off the hook easily this time. He could choose not to answer of course, but this was May in question. So if not for anything, he doesn't want her to be worried about him. 'Just say anything Declan. It won't hurt’Declan blurted in his mind before clearing his throat. "Okay, you got me in this one. Whatever happened earlier tonight had more to it but in a nutshell,
"Are you okay? Where are you now!?"Declan yelled into the phone grabbing his car keys."At Lily's specialist hospital.""I will be there in a second."Declan arrived at the hospital shortly and ran on the hospital's hallway. "Where is she? Where is May Williams!" He asked the nurse and they pointed at a ward. Declan rushed in and saw May seated in-between her mom and sister, her silent sob loud in the quiet room."OMG, May. I'm so sorry." Declan rushed to her and embraced her in a tight hug. "Why do they keep doing this? Why can't they just leave us alone? We have done nothing wrong to these people, yet they keep hurting us!"May was wailing at this point and it broke Declan's heart into pieces. He held her tightly, trying to calm her down. "It's okay. I'm here now." Declan consoled, soothing the back of her head. They stood their for 5 minutes before May gained control of her emotions. "It's fine, I'm okay now." She said, pushing away from Declan's arms. "What did the docto
Siren blasted in the air around the Williams neighborhood. The necessary authorities like the police and fire fighters were present. An ambulance was also lurking around in case there was any casualty. Once the fires was put off, everyone on the street scurried closer to take a look of what was left of the Williams mansion. Almost everything has been burnt down to ash. "What a tragedy" One of the neighbors said holding her chest. "It's indeed a pity." Another neighbor agreed. "The arsonist is alive!" One of the police officers yelled and everyone gaped. "Arsonist? Some indeed started the fire on purpose?" An elderly woman cried in the corner. Everywhere went quite as they watched someone emerge from the house amid smokes. They held they breath at the reveal and when they saw Declan, their jaws dropped. "Is that not their son-in-law?" "Ex son-in-law you mean. I heard they served him divorce in the most humiliating way." Two women gossiped at the corner.
