Declan carried out the rest of the treatment in silent. He mixed the herb with some others ingredients in a grinding bowl. When they turned to a green pury, he took them in a syringe and injected the men one after another. "This is all for today. I will be back in two days time." Declan said then bowed and left. Declan made another stop at the club house. He climbed down from his car same time Mike came out of the building. "Hey man. Good to see you!" Mike said cheerfully extending his hand to Declan for a handshake. But Declan walked pass him with a mean look that was surprising to Mike."Whoa!" Mike exclaimed, turning to watch Declan walk into the house. Looking around briskly to make sure no one else witnessed his embarrassment. Mike cleared his throat and adjusted his jacket before he walked in." That was unnecessary bro. What if one of my shawties saw that?" Mike said seemly offended."What I came for is very important and I don't want to spend longer than 5 minutes here."
It was 7:30pm and Declan King was ready to set out for the operation. He wore a black pants and black leather jackets. He stood before a mirror to readjust his face cap. Looking at his reflection, he looked like nothing short of a hit man.His phone began to ring on bedstand and the caller was Mandy."Not now Mandy." He said and declined the call. He restricted Mandy from reaching for that period of time. He had a busy night ahead of him and the last thing he needed was distraction of any kind.He however called Mike instead. "Ready?" Declan asked with a stern voice."I'm already driving to the venue, see you in 30." Mike said, his voice not missing a glint of excitement that is always in it.Looking at his reflection one last time in the mirror, Declan took his keys and left.Half way into the journey, Declan noticed two vans trailing him. "Who are those now" He wondered in his head. One of the vans sped up and zoomed past him, stopping abruptly almost bumping into Declan's car.
Declan walked up to one of the thugs. The thug was still alive but in great pain, grabbing onto his head and belly.Declan used his leg to adjust the man and faced him up.“Who sent you here”“I uhm…. Ahh… plea—” The man started saying gibberish.“Answer me!” Declan growled and the man flinched. “I don’t know… our boss just gathered us and we— ahh!” The man howled, flinching at the pain that struck through his body. Declan’s leg was on his abdomen and he pressed him to the floor.“Do you have a death wish? huh? You have your last chance!” The man began to cough due to the pressure on his abdomen.“Alright sir, please don’t kill me—just check my— back pocket” The man stuttered and Declan narrowed his eyes.Declan did not check the man’s pocket; rather, he checked that of the dead thug laying at the head side of the man.Inside the dead man’s pocket was a crest with the Inscription “JK”. Without showing any expression, Declan put the crest in his back pocket. He lifted his leg fro
“There it is!” Mike yelled, his eyes glittering. He had opened the safe just now. Declan took out a big white envelope and started searching the contents. His eyes lit up when he saw what it contained and he quickly put it away in the bag pack he was carrying. Mike on the order hand was captivated by the stacked of dollar bundles in the safe. He looked at it with hungry eyes, swallowing the saliva in his mouth. It was as though he had seen a palatable burger. “What are you stalling for? That’s your pay right there” Declan said sparing him a glance. “Exactly what I needed to hear.” Mike said and jumped right into the safe, packing the money into his bag. “Wait..” Declan said, raising his hand. They went silent and they could hear footsteps outside. “What’s that?” Mike asked in panic, zipping his back packed and stripping it at his back. “Wait here” Declan moved to the window that faced the south where the car park was. “Shit!” He cursed, walking back to Mike. “Gen
Declan strode into his room and unzipped his jacket. It had been a long hectic night and he wished to drown himself in warm water. He brought out his phone from his back pocket and placed it on the bedside and walked into the shower. He came out 20 minutes later wrapped in a bathrobe and drying his wet air. His eyes glanced at his phone at the bedside."Shit!" He picked the phone and swiped it up. 50 freaking missed calls."Who the hell?—" He started to complain about the caller but paused when he saw who it was. Mandy. He was instantly washed with guilt for keeping her in the dark. She had left him a message also and when he read it, his eyes bulged from their sockets. He quickly changed into anything he laid hands on first, grabbed his keys and dashed out."How is he?" Declan asked the butler, rushing into the Asher's residence. He was stunned at the amount of staff he saw standing in the living room. He didn't spare them a second and rushed straight to Grandpa Asher's room."Noo
"Guards, bound him and don't let him go until I say so!" Declan yelled and Mandy’s bodyguards immediately blocked the room’s exit and when Dr. Jim got up on his feet, there was no way out.He glanced around with a deep scowl on his face. “What’s going on here?!” He demanded but no one answered him. They were all engrossed in what Declan was doing to pay any attention to him.“Stop wasting your time and that of everyone here. That man is dead! I have called an ambulance that will be here in a jiffy to take the corpse away!” Dr. Jim yelled, turning to Declan. When Declan did not respond to him, his anger intensified. How dare Declan snub and make a fool of him? He wished to slap Declan in the face but was too scared to make the move. Declan had knocked him down without even touching him and his body was aching really bad.Dr. Jim looked at what Declan was mixing and his heart skipped. “No way,” he said in his mind, his jaw dropping. Declan was mixing some herbs that would obviously
"Ahh!"Dr. Jim screamed and fell to the ground. He began to convulse on the floor, kicking everything and everyone around him."What's going on with him?" Lily asked in confusion but everyone seemed to be as clueless as she was. "Somebody help him up!" Lily yelled and the guards immediately gave Dr. Jim a helping hand, pulling him up. Dr. Jim sat in a place for a moment trying to recollect his strength. His body was very sore like someone who had been wiped many strokes of cane."Are you ready to tell everyone what you did now?" Declan asked, after he felt he had given Dr. Jim enough time."I don't know what you are talking about." Dr Jim said weakly, panting."Of course you do. Tell them who sent you!" Declan demanded."What do you mean? Mandy clearly stated she called me on referral. How could someone have possibly sent me? Mind you I left a patient to come attend to the man you abandoned urgently." Dr. Jim gritted, in anger.Declan was probing him so much and would soon reveal e
Declan reached Dr. Jim, snatched his bag and poured the entire contents of the floor."What!?""What is he doing!?"Everyone asked in unison, surprised at what Declan had just done.Declan ignored all of them and began to scatter everything on the floor until he found Dr. Jim's ID card."Give that back!" Dr Jim tried to snatch his ID from Declan's grip but Declan dodged him."Darius Cowper ?"Declan read the name on the ID and everyone's jaw dropped.Declan chucked inwardly. His instincts were never wrong and besides the brothers had a striking resemblance. Dr. Jim became more furious, curling his hands by his side in a tight fist."Give that back now!" He growled. "Cowper? You're related to Mr. bench? This is unbelievable." Mandy gasped, covering her mouth with both hands. She hadn't expected this to be the case. Everything explains it now. Dr. Jim probably came after her grandfather in retaliation."What is your mission in here pretending to be a doctor!" Declan barked but Dr
