Chapter One Hundred and Sixty-Seven.

May got home that night and her eyes were swollen from crying so much. She was yet to accept what she just witnessed. She always had her suspicions anyway but seeing them intimate with her own eyes was the most heart wrenching thing ever.

It made her question Declan's motive towards her. Why was he still kind to her when he had already moved on? It annoyed May that she thought Declan was still around all along because he wanted her back. What a delusion.

"Where have you been?"

Clara asked as soon as May entered the living room. She had sat to wait for her daughter when she returned home and she was not back yet.

"I went to get fresh air," May said, walking past her mom to the stairs. The last thing she wanted was for Clara to see her in that state.

"I was worried about you, but that's not important. The most important thing now is that you're home." Clara said. Her eyes followed May up the stairs and she contemplated if she should follow her up.
