Chapter Thirty-Six.

Their lips were an inch apart. Declan did not move away, neither did he indulge. In Fact he was too stunned to react. Mandy took his silence as a go ahead and her mouth cover his in a kiss.

"What are you doing? Are you taking advantage of the boss in her state?" Mandy's assistant shouted and Declan pulled away.

"Oh no.. it's a mistake. I didn't mean to."

"But you were enjoying it and didn't move away. Oh what an irresponsible man you're!"

"Tasha stop it! I kissed him first and I don't need your permission to do so." Mandy shouted at her assistant, angry that she interrupted her moment with Declan.

"Oh no, boss. you're not in the right state of mind. There's no way you will kiss this man if you are sober. He is only taking advantage of your state.”

"And who asked you to be the advocate?" Mandy was angry. What was Tasha doing there anyway? Shouldn't she be downstairs doing some work?

"I can't leave you in this state alone. I should help you."

"I'm not alone! Declan is here with me"
