Chapter Two Hundred and Fourteen
The drive back to Declan's home was a quiet one. When they arrived, he showed his mom to her room and turned to leave.

"We can't achieve anything if we are this way."

Elizabeth's voice echoed, bringing Declan to a halt.

"You should have given me more time, mother."

"And time is what we don't have now. We must act fast because the family is beginning to worry."

Elizabeth said and Declan turned to face her with a narrowed gaze.

"You sound nothing like someone who had been out of this reality for years. Is there something I need to know?"

Declan asked, his gaze narrowing even further in suspicion. His family were very powerful and the last thing he would do was underestimate them.

Elizabeth moved from where she stood to across the room to access a sculpture standing there.

"Get the chef to prepare me a meal, I'm famished."

She said with dismissal, completely ignoring what Declan had said.
