Chapter 7

COURTESY OF OLIVER STONES

Oliver and Charlie laid covered in the sheets. She rested her head upon his chest while he ran his fingertips down her hair.

"I love you. I've always had. That's why I didn't want you to get involved in all of this" Oliver confessed.

"And I've always loved you too. That's why I make sure you're okay every time even if the odds aren't against you. But we've been friends for like ten years now. I didn't want to ruin our friendship" Charlie said.

"Yeah" Oliver said. There was a moment of silence before a sudden knock on the door broke it.

"Is that Roland?" Charlie asked.

"I don't know, just put on your clothes" Oliver ordered and she did as she was told immediately. Oliver then went to the door to see who was knocking.

"Who is it?" Oliver asked.

"Open up" the person answered sternly. Oliver immediately recognized the voice. He then opened the door.

"Father" Oliver greeted.

"Thanks to you, I lost my church but I'm still a good person. Just because I work for the good of this city with things I preach against doesn't make me a bad man. I still care for my parishioners and humans like me" father Micheal said as he entered Oliver's house.

"What happened?" Oliver asked.

"First off, I'm sorry for talking to you at the church that way. Second, forget the ring of the damned, we need to find a way to fix this mess Ludacris put you in. I know I preach against revenge but the vampires that killed Damian must pay for it" Father Micheal declared. Then he saw Charlie coming out of the room.

"Charlie?" Father Micheal asked.

"Morning father" Charlie greeted quite nervously. Father Micheal could already tell that she and Oliver were together. The smile on his face made it obvious to Oliver.

"If you tell Roland…" Oliver warned.

"Bigger things are at hand. So… do you have any plan in mind?" Father Micheal asked.

"I already spoke with Ludacris. I'm pretty much fucked if I don't get that ring back" Oliver confessed.

"Ludacris isn't with the ring" father Micheal said.

"Jean, one of the head members of the Vatican told Roland and I that the ring had been used. She also mentioned something about it being cloaked. If it truly is cloaked, then there's no finding it" Oliver said.

"You're gonna need a powerful witch if you wanna be able to break that spell" Charlie said.

"If not a whole coven of em'. Whoever took this ring doesn't want it to be found" father Micheal added.

"Exactly. The Vatican tried to trace the energy coming from the ring but they couldn't and they had Amelia and Maelstrom, two of the strongest witches in the city" Oliver added.

"If the vampires took it, I'm sure they wouldn't be able to gain access to such magic" Father Micheal said.

"Else it's black magic" Charlie added.

"The witches have been banned from practising black magic" father Micheal said.

"Who told you everyone abides by the law" Charlie said with a smirk.

"So how do we find a witch that practises black magic?" Oliver asked.

"Get Roland, I know what to do" Charlie assured.

"Hey, hey, hey. We talked about this. I don't want you involved in this" Oliver said calmly.

"Even if I end up like Damian, so what? At least I know that my hands were in this mess from the beginning. Besides, you can't be seen near the witches, they'll sense the power you have in you and after they realise you were the one that supposedly killed those five innocent humans, they won't help us, and father, your image is already tarnished. You can't be seen with more supernaturals" Charlie explained.

"She's right, Oly" father Micheal said.

"So what are you and I supposed to do? Lay back while Roland and Charlie fix my mess?" Oliver asked in anger.

"No, we are going to pay a visit to a certain pastor" Father Micheal said.

Roland drove Charlie to a woman's store as directed by Charlie herself. She entered with Roland. There was a woman standing by the counter. Charlie walked up to her and greeted her while Roland walked around the store checking items.

"Good morning Lizz" Charlie greeted with a smile.

"Morning Charlie, what would you like?" Lizz asked.

"I have a problem" Charlie whispered.

"No, no, no. My days of black magic are over" Lizz whispered sternly.

"Come on, Lizz… just this once" Charlie begged.

"Remember what happened the last time I tried black magic?" Lizz said and immediately, Charlie's mood changed.

"I'm sorry for bringing that up baby but it's the truth" Lizz said sternly but with remorse.

"Something powerful was stolen and cloaked. Even the strongest of witches couldn't trace its location" Charlie said sternly.

"And you think black magic's gonna work?" Lizz asked.

"How would we know when we haven't tried?" Charlie asked. It took Lizz some seconds before she finally spoke.

"Meet me at the back. Is he with you?" Lizz asked.

"Yes I am" Roland answered. He had been listening to their conversation the whole time.

"Then come with me" Lizz ordered, but before they went to the back, she put up the closed sign.

Oliver and Father Micheal entered into Pastor Zachariah's church. He was the only one there. Immediately Oliver sighted him, he rose him in the air and made him choke.

"Good morning pastor" Oliver said with a smirk.

"Put him down" Father Micheal demanded calmly.

"Let him get a taste of his own medicine first" Oliver said as he smiled listening to the choking sound of Zachariah. Seconds later, he put him down.

"Get away from me oh you evil one!" Zachariah cried out.

"I can see you're talking to yourself" father Micheal said as he bent over to talk to Zachariah who was already on the floor.

"You hypocrite! How dare you side with the very evil you preach against?!" Zachariah yelled.

"I want the good of this city and of humans. Tell me Zack, are you not a hypocrite? Tell me that you didn't side with Ludacris to notify the world of something you know little about" Father Micheal asked.

"Little? I might not know everything about the mystical creatures we live with but I know everything about Oliver stones" Zachariah said with confidence.

"What could you possibly know about me?" Oliver asked.

"It's best it remains a secret" Zachariah said with a sinister smile. Out of anger, Oliver choked him again.

"Oly!" Father Micheal called out but he didn't listen.

"Mikey, should I let the cat out of the bag?" Zachariah teased as he was about to choke to his own death.

"Oliver, stop!" Father micheal demanded.

"Tell me!" Oliver yelled in anger.

"Oliver, it's enough!" Father Micheal yelled and then Oliver stopped. He then walked out of the church angrily.

"I didn't think so" Zachariah said in a coarse tone.

"Learn to keep your mouth shut" father Micheal warned and then he left to find Oliver.

He met Oliver kicking his car angrily.

"Oliver!" Father Micheal called out but he ignored. Soon they heard a scream from a few miles away.

"What was that?" Father Micheal asked. Oliver quickly traced the sound together with the priest.

"Oh no" father Micheal whispered. There they saw another dead body. This time, it was only one but her body was dismembered. Worse, written on the wall was courtesy of Oliver Stones.
