Meghan lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling, the harsh words from her family echoing in her mind. She felt trapped, torn between her loyalty to Gavin and the increasing strain on her relationship with her family. The threat of being fired from the family's business weighed heavily on her, and she wished Gavin could understand the pressure she was under.
She picked up her phone, hesitating for a moment whether she should dial Gavin's number or not. She wanted to know how he was doing and where he was staying at the moment. She debunked the idea, opting to call one of her team members at the office.
She told the team member to tell the other members of the team to go ahead with the assignments they were supposed to work on together, informing her that she won't be coming around to the office anymore.
Sitting alone in her room, Meghan couldn't hide the emotional turmoil churning within her. On one hand, she desperately wanted to earn her parents' pride and approval, just as Sophie had. On the other hand, she wasn't ready to give up on Gavin.

Harry and James came to the house later in the evening of that same day. After the last dinner meeting with the Stallions which didn't go as planned because of Gavin, they've not really had a time out with the Stallions again.
"Harry, James, you dropped by?" Katherine asked, surprised to see them without a prior notice.
"Oh yes. There's an elite party coming up soon and we've got some VIP tickets for everyone," Harry announced, swelling with pride.
"Really?" Sophie asked, unable to hide her surprise.
"Yes, the party is exclusively for the elite and since we'll be family soon, I thought it wise to have you attend," Harry added.
"Oh! Is that so?" Katherine asked. The thought of attending an exclusive elite party sounded so nice to her.
"These are VIP tickets for everyone." Harry said, handing over the tickets to them one after the other.
Oliver too got a ticket and it left him swelling with pride. With Harry he felt proud looking forward to the wedding between him and Sophie.
Sophie couldn't hide her surprise. She had always dreamt of attending such parties where she'll meet high class businessmen and businesswomen.
"That's so sweet, Harry." Sophie said, closing Harry in a warm embrace.
James noticed that Meghan wasn't present prompting him to ask if she was at home or not.
"What of Meghan? I've not seen her, James asked, concerned.
Even if Meghan had left him at the restaurant the previous day because of Gavin, he was still concerned about her. He really loved Meghan and was ready to do anything to have her and take her away from Gavin.
"Oh, Meghan. Forget about her." Sophie scoffed, waving her hand dismissively.
"Why? I've got a ticket for her too?" James said, expressing his genuine concern for Megan.
"What? You got a ticket for Meghan?" Sophie asked, her eyes almost falling from their sockets.
"Come on, James. Let's forget about Meghan." Katherine said, sounding indifferent.
Meghan came out of her room to find James and Harry in the house. A wave of shame washed over her as she recalled leaving James at the restaurant the previous day.
"Meghan," James called out, his face lighting up at the sight of her.
"James..." Meghan began, but her voice faltered. She didn't know how to start apologising.
"What party are you guys going for?" Meghan asked, having overheard from her room.
"It's none of your concern. It's not as if you'd be attending anyway." Sophie scoffed.
"What's the meaning of that?" Meghan asked, unable to take Sophie's rudeness towards her.
"You heard me right, Meghan. The party is for the elite and not some low class wife to a peasant of a husband," Sophie replied coldly, not sparing Gavin of any of her insults.
Katherine couldn't resist adding her input to the conversation. "Calm down, Sophie. Meghan is free to attend the party, but only on one condition."
"And what's that?" Sophie asked, surprised that her mother was considering allowing Meghan to go with them.
"She'll have to agree to date James. After all, James got the ticket for her," Katherine revealed.
All eyes turned to Meghan, the room suddenly charged with expectation. Oliver and Sophie watched her closely, waiting for her response. James, too, couldn't hide his anticipation, his hope clear as he awaited Meghan's agreement to Katherine's request.
Meghan, however, chose to remain silent. The weight of her inner turmoil was too much to bear. Torn between her feelings for Gavin and the desire to appease her family and James, she found herself unable to speak.
"What do you have to say?" Sophie asked, her eyes narrowing as she awaited a response.
Gavin arrived at Morano City Bank, his face masked in an unusual smile. Standing in front of the bank, he couldn't help but recall the memories from his last experience with the manager and the security guards. He knew what he was about to do might go against the promise to his father never to reveal who he truly was no matter what the situation might be. But after the series of humiliation he had been made to go through both from the Stallions and others alike, he felt it was enough.Taking a deep breath, he moved towards the entrance of the bank and was stopped by the security guards again just as he had expected."Sir, you're not allowed to go in," one of the security guards said rudely as he stood in front of Gavin."Excuse me, but I have to go in," Gavin replied."Didn't you hear what he just told you? We've received orders from the manager not to allow you in," the other security guard said, his gaze piercing through Gavin with utter disdain. They just couldn't stand the sight
Thomas Winnick was seated in his office when a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. He immediately knew it was Gavin and the security guards."Come in," he called, ushering them inside. His face lit up with excitement as he saw Gavin. Ignoring the formality, he embraced Gavin warmly, surprising the security guards."Welcome sir, it's so nice to see you again," Thomas said, his voice filled with genuine warmth."Thank you, Thomas. It's good to see you too," Gavin replied, returning the sentiment.Thomas then turned to the security guards. "What are you still doing here? You may leave now," he said, dismissing them. The guards exchanged a bewildered glance wondering why the president of Morano City Bank would address someone as tattered and unkept as Garvin with the word 'sir'.Without saying a word, they quickly exited the office, leaving Gavin and Thomas to their reunion.Turning to Gavin, "I was really surprised when I saw your call yesterday. Hope everything is fine?" Thomas
Thomas couldn't hide his worries as Gavin was about leaving the office. Even if he had agreed to Gavin's request and had granted him all that he had asked for, he knew it was against the promise which Gavin had made to his father."But sir, Isn't this going to raise questions from your wife?” Thomas inquired, his concern evident in his words.Gavin dismissed his worries, gesturing for him to allow him handle things his own way, "You don't have to worry, Thomas. I've got everything under control.""If you say so sir, I just want you to be careful," Thomas said, his words touching Gavin's heart.Gavin smiled seeing how much Thomas genuinely cared about him, returning his kind gesture with gratitude, "I'll be fine, Thomas. Thank you,"Immediately Gavin left Thomas's office, his phone beeped and it was a credit alert of $100,000 just as Thomas had instructed.A very unusual smile adorned his face, one that was real and heartfelt. It would be the first time in months if not even years that
Standing outside his mansion and swelling with pride at having finally gotten his home back, Gavin hailed a cab to take him to the Stallions. He was ready to face them and make it clear that he was far from wretched."Where are you alighting, sir?" the cab driver asked politely."Riverview Estate," Gavin replied, still basking in the moment. After a few minutes' drive, the cab driver spoke again. "We're here, sir," he said, stepping on the brakes right in front of the estate.Gavin stepped out of the car, a broad smile on his face. He almost forgot that he hadn't paid the cab driver yet."Sir, you haven't paid me," the cab driver reminded him gently."Oh, right. My apologies," Gavin said, quickly reaching into his pocket and handing over the fare. He nodded in thanks before turning to face the imposing entrance of Riverview Estate, ready to confront the Stallions with newfound confidence."Thank you, sir," the cab driver said as he drove off.Inside the estate, Katherine and Sophie we
Upon entering the house, Meghan was greeted by yet another surprise. The empty food shelves were all completely stocked up enough to have them go for months and lacking nothing essential as far as family's food shelf is concerned.Unable to hide her concerns any longer, she asks Gavin how he was able to raise the money to get the mansion back and to have their kitchen stocked with so much foodstuffs. "What exactly did you do, Gavin? Where did you get the money from?" Meghan asked, her tone demanding an explanation.Gavin smiled, seeing the concern etched on her face. "Don't worry, Meghan. Even if I told you, you still wouldn't believe me," he shrugged. He recalled how she had reacted earlier when he had jokingly told her he was the owner of Morano City Bank. She had dismissed the idea as absurd, not even considering it a possibility. That reaction had made him decide to keep the full story to himself, at least for now."Come on, Gavin. I'm your wife and I have the right to know what
Gavin arrived at work still angry because of the heated argument between him and Meghan. He just wished Meghan would try to understand him and all the efforts he was putting in just to make her see for herself just how much he loves her.“Hey Gavin!” A colleague called out to him. “Why weren't you at work yesterday? The boss came looking for you,” the colleague said.Gavin could tell he was in some sort of trouble. Brax Connelly wasn't a man to joke with and the fact that he had stayed away from work without due permission was enough reason to be worried.“Gavin! What happened to you? You didn't come around yesterday and you didn't even deem it fit to notify the boss. He's angry,” Another colleague said, expressing just how much the boss had been angry that Gavin didn't show up for work the previous day.A couple of deliveries were not made and it has really gotten the boss angry.“Oh! It wasn't intentional. I had some important stuffs to attend to. I'll explain to the boss,” Gavin r
"Good morning, Meghan," greeted a colleague as Meghan arrived at work that day."Morning," Meghan replied, her usual warm smile lighting up her face.Other colleagues joined in the customary morning pleasantries, their expressions revealing how much they had missed Meghan's presence in the office. The two days Meghan had been absent from work had not gone unnoticed. Her unique approach to ensuring tasks were completed efficiently had always made her an integral part of the team. Unlike her sister Sophie, Meghan was known for her collaborative leadership style, never merely issuing orders but always working alongside her colleagues."Hope you're doing well, ma'am? We've really missed you," the colleagues expressed, conveying their genuine sentiment towards Meghan.Meghan's smile widened as her colleagues continued to shower her with kind words.Upon settling into her office, Meghan's phone rang, displaying her mother's name on the screen."I need you in my office immediately," Katherin
Gavin had just finished the last delivery for the day. Not wanting to offend Mr Brax anymore, he made sure he carried out every delivery promptly and even took in two extra deliveries for the day just to be on his good side.“Well done, Gavin, you did a nice job today,” the senior manager at the company said as Gavin made way to the cloak room to change back into the clothes he had worn to work that morning.“Thank you, sir.” Gavin replied, smiling at the supervisor's satisfactory remark on his job.Just as he was about signing out for the day, his phone rang and it was Meghan calling, crying on the phone as she spoke.“What's wrong?” Gavin inquired, as it was very unusual for Meghan to cry except it was something very serious but Meghan didn't say a word before the call ended abruptly.Gavin tried reaching her immediately but her phone wasn't going through any longer prompting him to sign out in a hurry, hail the first cab that came his way and hurried home straight away.Gavin arriv
