As Gavin walked into the hospital, the the only thing he could think about was how his wife was doing. He walked briskly into the hospital and rushed to the ward where Meghan had been when he last saw her. As he pushed the door open and went in, the sight that greeted him was that of an already made bed. The room was completely empty, with no sight of Meghan or any of her things. He rushed out of the room immediately, almost staggering. His eyes scanned the whole place as he moved his head from side to side. He hoped that he would run in to doctor who had handled Meghan's situation, since he didn't know his office. But he didn't, so he had to go to the counter at the entrance of the hospital. There, a young, blonde lady dressed in a nurse's outfit stood."Good morning, sir. How may I help you?" She smiled widely."Umm... My wife." He started, placing his hands on the counter. "I couldn't find her in her ward. Was she moved to another ward?""Please sir, may I know your wife's name?""
The maid stared at him with disgust as he walked past her. Immediately he was out the door, she shut it loudly. He sighed as he slipped his hands in to his pockets and walked to the waiting taxi. "Let's go." He said immediately he got in to the vehicle. For a moment in their forty minute journey, he thought about what he had seen in his in-laws' home. He only left because she asked him to, and also because he didn't want to cause a scene, nor did he want to make matters worse with Meghan."We are here." The driver said abruptly, suddenly drawing him back to reality."Oh, okay." He smiled dryly and got out of the car. "Please, hold on while I go get some cash." The driver nodded with a stone cold expression on his face. As Gavin rushed in to the house, he was greeted by a disorganized house. He shook his head softly and went in to the bedroom to get the money. In no time, he rushed out of the house once more. "Here. Keep the change."The driver's eyes widened at the wad of cash given
"What is going on, boss?" Antoine asked eagerly, seeing the grave look on Gavin's face."A lot." He sighed as his eyes met the ground. "More than I can handle. And that is why I called. And you, why did you come? I didn't want to disturb you that is why I called Kyle instead. I knew he would relate everything to you, but I didn't think you would show up instead of him.""Well, there is something important I need to speak to you about as well. We haven't talked since the last time you came around, and you already stressed that calling you wasn't an option.""Then, we should begin our meeting right away. Follow me." Gavin led him to the basement, and in to the little room. He moved the chair aside and the two men stood in front of the desktop. "I need to show you something."Antoine nodded, totally oblivious of what he was meant to see. Soon, the footage began to play, and every element of surprise was visible on Antoine's face. He was extremely shocked to see the strength used to swing
It was almost 10am that morning. The sky was brightly lit by the hot, yellow sun, beaming its light against all that roamed the world beneath it. Gavin left the house in a hurry. He was on his way to see his wife. The day before, she wasn't in so much of a good mood and didn't want to see him. But he hoped that she would this time around.Barely an hour later, he arrived at her parents' house. The environment looked peaceful and serene like it always did. He walked slowly towards the door, wondering if he would be let in this time. He knocked on the door, and the maid that had opened the door for him before stood in the door way."Who is it, Beth?" He heard someone ask. It seemed to be Meghan's mother asking. The maid closed the door before she answered."It is the man from yesterday." She said in an irritated manner."What man?" She asked further with a frown on her face. "The one who forced his way in. I think he came to see ma'am Meghan.""Well, tell the bastard to leave at once.
"Is it about my job?" He scoffed in disbelief. "What makes you think I haven't been serious with it? I work my ass off just so I can provide everything you want because I don't want you to lack anything. I try my best to prove to your family that I am good enough to be your husband.""But you...""Who on earth told you that I have been rolling with touts? Harry and James? Well, I am not surprised. They have been trying everything they could just to paint me bad to your parents. I love you, Meghan. And I promise you, I would never do anything to hurt you. I'd rather have anything hurt me than you."Meghan placed her hands over her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes. She tried to speak but her words came out as mumbles."You don't have to say anything, dear. You don't." He walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her, drawing her in to his chest to comfort her. But suddenly, she pushed him away. She walked out of the large balcony, in to the sun and he followed her. She walked f
Megan stared up at him. Her pretty face brimming with so much curiosity coupled with something else, something that Gavin could have understood to be anger, but it was not. Her eyes held him up, as though she was trying to read into his eyes, to see into his soul, and decipher for herself if he was truly telling the truth. She stood up from the bench on which she had been sitting on. It seemed as if she had not found anything within her husband's eyes that could signal that he was lying to her. Nothing at all. He did not respond to her, as she walked before him and stopped halfway just right in front of him, with her back turned and her arms folded. She seemed to be in the middle of some great thinking activity. Suddenly, she turned towards him, staring at his face."This Scarlett of a woman, judging from the name you refer to her as and everything you have told me about her, I am beginning to consider that she is the one behind my attack. I certainly do not have anyone in mind who
"How are you going to break the news to them?" Gavin asked, his face ridden with concern as he held her hand as if trying to stop Meghan from walking back into the house to go see her parents. "I will have to tell them somehow." She looked up at him softly. She kissed him again on his lips. They stood frozen in motion. "Okay." Gavin said, his words were empty, with a shadow of doubt still lingering in the background. She broke away from him to go inside, but their fingers were still entwined, so that both their pinkies served as a hook that kept the both of them still in contact as she moved away, untill they broke away, and their pinky connection, snapped like a twig.Gavin watched her as she went in, trying to resist the feeling that he really might not see her again. She got back to the sitting room where her parents were. They looked at her plainly. Their eyes were questioning, and she expected them to start pouring down the questions as best as they could."So? Tell us what
She had this innocent, yet longing look in her eyes. One that Gavin could swear that he knew. But he wasn't just going to jump into conclusions yet. He had just brought her home after a huge disagreement and didn't want to mess it up.They were both sitting on the couch. His hands rested gently on her shoulder as he stared into her welcoming eyes. She smiled back at him, warmly. Her eyes had a certain spark to them and anyone could tell that she was in love. "So..." She finally broke the silence, even though she didn't know what she wanted to say. She smiled sheepishly as she shook her head"Yes?" Gavin leaned forward in a concerned manner. She had suddenly gone silent at the beginning of her speech."Oh, nothing. I don't know." She giggled and hid her face behind her palm for a second."Alright." He nodded and stood up. "Did you have breakfast already? There's something for us to eat and...""And what?" She interrupted in a very calm tone. Slowly, she got to her feet, a seductive sm
