21. A Helping Hand!

"Well," Meghan prepared to start her tale on what exactly was the case with her. She gripped tightly the edges of her dress, seemingly shy to say the least in bringing her problems to the young man whom she was with at the time. Her eyes were fixed to the floor.

James had one eye on the road and one eye on her. He held his words, not wanting to say anything at the time that would stop her from spilling what she had already told him to be a long story.

"You see, my family wants me to secure a deal for them, and if I don't do so, they will—"

She cut her long story short there. Any other words and it would have been a little bit too much for her to be pouring into the ears of James, someone who had already declared interest in her. Still the same someone who her husband was quite uncomfortable with. She couldn't say more.

"It's okay, you shouldn't tell me if it is going to be like I am forcing you to. I don't want to be that person to you." James put as much effort sounding like he care
