14. Facing Death

Leon, who had closed his eyes on the way home, suddenly felt the car he was in stop moving. He opened his eyes and realized that the car had indeed stopped.

"What's wrong, sir? Why did you stop?" Leon asked the driver.

"There was an accident up ahead, sir. The road is congested," the driver replied.

Leon just nodded, then looked around. The drowsiness that had been hanging over his eyes immediately evaporated, as if blown away by the wind. The car was moving very slowly, because it was adjusting to the movement of the car in front of it which was also only moving little by little.

Finally Leon's car arrived at the scene of the accident. Leon saw a car that had bounced and hit a tree. The front body was crushed and the driver was being rescued by residents.

Then not far from that place, Leon saw a car that had hit a road divider. The front body of the car looked badly crushed. Leon suspected that the car must have been driven at high speed when it hit him.
