She took a pause as she obviously waited for the response of whoever she was speaking with over the phone; the professed Marcus. 

We were in the sitting room, seated in the longest couch. I was sitting up, and she was lying on the couch, her head on my lap as I caressed that side of her temple gently. 

Her left hand was on the wrist of my hand doing the gentle caresses. Probably she wanted a stimulant. Her other hand pressed the phone to her ear, and her face to the 3D blue skies ceiling.
