007

The first class hour is underway. Before that, Theo Awards an affectionate punch to Jared for deceiving him that they were late when they weren't. Jared just laughed afterward.

There were fifteen students in the class including Theo and Jared. They sat individually and since Theodore was a new student, he was placed in the last seat. Coincidentally in front of him was Jared's seat. Theo could take revenge if he wanted to but he enjoyed today's lesson so much. Today's class is about how to control the power of thought.

"Know that the human mind is very complex,” says the teacher – Prof. Abraham. He was an African–American man with half-bald hair and all of his hair almost gray. He was wise enough to teach. “The human brain is composed of many nerves with diverse patterns. Like a giant, scaled-down maze. To enter the human mind is to enter the labyrinth. Even the owner of the body is often lost in their minds. And how can we control someone's mind if we find it so difficult to understand our thoughts?”

No one answered.

“Well then, all of us trusted disciples, Jared, please explain.”

Jared stood up. Theo could hear a soft swear glide from Jared.

“There are many things that make us able to control the minds of others. One way is to focus on looking into their eyes because the eyes are the most up-to-date connecting bridge. The eye also has the closest nerve to the brain than any other organ. Assisted with a spark of energy, we can control the thoughts of others like using a remote control.”

“And what is that spark of energy, Jared?”

“It was like an electric spark inside the human body. It comes from meteor particles that have been in our bodies. But the meteor particles were so small that they had to be raised first. The movement of atoms becomes a stimulus for the awakening of meteor particles. The way to generate it is that we must continue to train our physique because, with a fit physique, we will more easily merge with the forces of nature.”

"And... The power of nature makes it easy for us to know someone's lies." said Prof. Abraha, suddenly, he was in front of Jared. “Close your book in the drawer, I'm not asking you to explain while reading.”

"Sorry, Profesor.”

Prof Abraham cleared his throat. “Come to my office after this class.”

"Yes, Profesor.”

After the Prof again explained to the front of the room. Jared sat down and shook a little. "Damn, I was trying not to look at him.”

“What happened?"Theo asked. “I didn't realize you were reading a book, but he could see you were a long way away.”

"He can see lies," Jared replied. "Every lie seemed to be projected clearly in his eyes as if he were looking at a flash of a movie. I tried to close my mind so I couldn't read.”

"Wow, you did that? You're such a genius, Jared!”

Jared grinned. It seems that Theo's compliments managed to cheer her up. “I know right?”

“But what makes you so pale?”

Jared glanced forward briefly. “I will accept punishment. And...”

"And?”

"Forget it," Jared turned back to face the front. “Just read your book and don't make mistakes like me.”

Theo looks curious but he still opens the book. He believes in Jared about not making mistakes because the slightest mistake will get punished. Staying on the streets for too long makes Theo convinced that the law of the Jungle is true. He has gone through his life very hard. And he gets very scared when he gets kicked out if he becomes a bad boy. It can't go from a place as comfortable as this. When the class ended, Jared told him to go to the cafeteria first and he would catch up. Theo has a hard time because he can't find the location of the cafeteria, which is where he meets Madam Liz.

"Excuse Me, Madam Liz," Theo called very politely.

“Do you need any help, Theo?”

“I couldn't find the cafeteria.”

Madam Liz nodded and stroked Theo's hair before gently pushing his back forward. They walked hand in hand down the long hallway.

“The cafeteria is to the right of the main hall, there is a large sign that says cafeteria at the entrance. I find it ridiculous to use the word ‘door’ when the cafeteria doesn't have a door.”

Theodore smiled awkwardly. Don't understand Madam Liz's joke before seeing the cafeteria itself. The room was no less spacious than the main hall. Several tables and chairs are neatly lined up. And the food was served at the end of the room with some waiters helping to serve the food. A delicious Aroma instantly wafted to the doorway where Theo stood sculpting.

“But, I don't have money for all that food.”

“You don't have to worry, " said Liz. “All facilities in this place are provided free of charge, as well as food. All you have to do is practice hard. Got it?”

“Very well, Madam Liz.”

“Then take all your food and finish it until your stomach is full.”

Without asking twice, the starving little Theodore ran to the other end of the room where the delicacies were waiting for him. Theo still maintains his respect by staying in line with the other students. The stomach growls more and more when dealing directly with smoked meats as well as honey-flavored wholemeal bread. How can food smell this good? All this time he only smells musty from moldy bread and spoiled food that he gets cheaply or leftovers in the trash. And now, he can eat new and delicious food that is still warm without fear of being beaten or shouted at by thieves.

Until the break was over, Jared still hadn't come. Even when Theo returned to class, the blonde boy was not yet sitting in his chair. Where Did Jared go?

The boy must have been severely punished, Theo thought.

Jared only showed up after class ended and they had to go into the dorm. Jared walked slowly as he continued to grimace in pain.

“Are you hurt, Jared?” Theo touched Jared's arm.

Jared grimaced and put away Theo's hand. “I'm fine.”

“You're lying, you're not good at lying Jared.”

“I'm just starving.”

“We can go to the cafeteria where there is a lot of delicious food and you have to try the wheat bread! Very tasty and sweet!” Theo spoke as if Jared had never eaten any of it.

"The cafeteria is only there at certain times like lunch and dinner,” Jared retorted. “We can wait for the dinner.”

"But you're hungry, I can take it if you want–”

“You will be punished if you do.”

Theo knows what hunger feels like. He once did anything for a piece of moldy bread to be full. He could not bear to see Jared grimacing in pain from hunger.

“I have no problem.”

“You fool!" Jared barked. “You won't be able to hold it! No, we better wait according to the rules. Ah about the rules, it seems you don't know this school very well. Let's go into the room and I'll tell you the rules of this school.”

Theo says nothing but follows Jared to their dorm.

Theo and Jared don't share a room. But their rooms are on the same floor, the second floor. Jared asks Theo to wait for him in the room while he returns to his room to clean up. Theo waited obediently like a duckling waiting for its mother.
