FOLLOW THE ANT

It was 9 am Sunday evening Jason, was laying on his bed with his eyes wide open as he didn't want to fall asleep, the past two night's had been hell for him as he kept on dying at the hands of the dark green praying mantis, the first time he managed to hunt six praying mantises before he was killed, the second time he Just ran, not even bothering to kill any of the praying mantises as he intended to get out of their territory but he still got killed.

It was as if the mantis was his lifelong enemy as it would always find him after a few minutes, this night he was determined to kill the oversized bug as he intended to use the attributes he had been saving up, as he softly called out stats.

Looking at his skills rapid development was an understatement, as he was growing stronger at an extremely fast pace, if others saw his improvement they would be countless warriors willing to die in his place to grow stronger, but his skills had indeed seen some improvement as his skill wind heart had grown stronger from the former six to the present one hundred and twenty six as a result he was able to sense any being in a 26.44 meter radius and had feint control over the wind.

He had 116 blank attributes to distribute which may sound like a lot but from killing Just six mantises but considering he got about 15 to 16 blank attributes for killing each of the six praying mantises when you do the math the numbers sounded quite reasonable.

Looking at his attributes Jason thought of a way to distribute his attributes, eventually he added 20 points of blank attributes to strength, 30 points to agility, 16 points to his skill metal fist, 20 points in his skill burst, 20 points in dagger mastery and ten points in the skill everything is a chess piece, he tried to make his attributes more even as his stats now looked more lively.

Feeling pleased at his newly found strength Jason smiled as he was more confident in killing the green bug, closing his eyes he went to sleep.

Opening his eyes in the familiar grassy plain, and jumping up excitement was visible on his face, lifting his head up a red light flashed in his eyes as he examined the surroundings with the wind, "oversized bug, where are you" not finding anything, Jason was perplexed the bug should have found him by now, but Jason didn't let his guard down as he examined his surroundings with the wind, feeling something Jason looked towards a particular direction in the meadow.

Slowly walking forward you could see a mantis not too far away but unlike the rest of the praying mantises it was dark green, furthermore the mantis seemed to not have noticed Jason as its attention was drawn by something else, following the gaze of the praying mantis Jason's eyes landed on something that would come straight out of a horror movie.

Race: mantis

Sex: female

Rank: F level-10

Skills: wind heart, rapid speed, command, soundless steps, stab, summoning

An ant, looking at the stats of the two bugs, Jason decided to be a spectator as he did not want to get eaten by the ant or get stabbed by the mantis, his ability to look at the stats of the mantis seemed to have worked well this time as Jason had long discovered that as long as the target was not on guard against him he could view their stats, looking at the two of them Jason was astonished as he could faintly feel that the mantis was afraid of the ant "how's that possible, maybe it's because of that domain thing" Jason thought to himself as he kept on looking.

Staring at each other the two insects seemed to be in a staring contest as they just stood there, this went on for some time until the ant had enough, with a an ear piercing shriek the ant took a step forward, and like a bullet it shot forward towards the mantis.

Pa! The sound of its metal like pinchers clamping together at an extremely fast speed sounded out, Jason felt chill on his neck as he thought "fast extremely fast." Indeed if he was to go against the ant he would have no way to resist, even with its large size its speed was almost as fast him, and the speed of its pinchers was even faster as you would have no way to get close and upfront.

The oversized ant was fast, but the praying mantis was even faster, as it had already moved from its previous location, and appearing behind the ant it hacked downwards with its razor like arm, its razor like arm piercing the exoskeleton of the ant. Shhhhhhhriek! With a long shriek a formless dome like energy wave spread out from its body pushing back the mantis who had already used its arms to block.

Before the mantis could regain its balance the metal like pinchers of the ant had already caught up with it using its extraordinary speed the mantis tried to move backwards, but a formless energy pressed it downwards slowing it down drastically, not being able to doge the mantis was in trouble as the metal like pinchers of the ant had already chomped on it killing it immediately.

Domain, Jason who had seen everything was astonished, using his bloodline skill discerning eyes Jason saw everything as clear as day, the formless energy came from the ant distorting the gravity in the surroundings, looking at the ant, which was feasting on the corpse of the praying mantis Jason eyes where sparkling as he looked at the glowing cards left on the floor.

After the ant finished devouring the body of the mantis, it let out a roar of satisfaction as it scurried away, seeing that the ant was moving Jason quickly followed as he picked up the cards that the mantis had dropped

{Coins: 35}

{Blank attributes: 43}

{Basic wind talent+53}

{Wind heart+66}

{Mantis dagger F level-8}

{Genetic points: 35}

{Spiritual card: 20}

Looking at all the gift cards the mantis dropped Jason was elated as he felt his strength increase rapidly, looking towards the direction the ant followed Jason decided to do what any rational person would do, he followed it.

***************************

Walking on the meadow, and keeping an appropriate distance from the ant as to not get noticed Jason followed from behind, he had been following for a few hours now and the ant soldier had met a total of 8 mantises 6 at the F level-6 and 2 at the level of the mantis that the ant fought before which was F level-10, as the mantises had no way to resist the ants gravity domain they all fell rather quickly as Jason picked all the gift cards that fell after the fight, Jason was following the mantis with a happy smile on his face picking up gift cards, until the ant came to a stop.

Huh, feeling puzzled Jason's eyes followed the gaze of the ant, but seeing only the empty green grass, his instinct's told him that something was off, so he quickly activated his bloodline skill discerning eyes and once again following the gaze of the giant bug he was shocked by what he saw, in his vision a green mantis a lot bigger than the one he had seen before came into view, its green ball like eyes locked onto the ant.

Looking towards the mantis Jason was amazed the mantis in front of him, even with his discerning eyes he could hardly see it, and its body was completely cloaked with a formless energy dome, "domain" said Jason as he held his breath hoping not to get noticed, the praying mantises Jason had met before all had terrifying senses and this one looked a lot stronger that the previous ones he had met before.

Looking at the praying mantis it seemed special, as if it was there and not there at the same time, anytime Jason blinked it would take some time to see the mantis again and it was standing still, if it was moving it would be hard to follow with your eyes.
