There was a sudden hush in the air as Oliver stepped into the D&M Cars dealership. He slowly walked further inside, with Marv trailing behind him.
Oliver was dressed in a black Brioni suit, with a Patek Phillipe Calamander wristwatch to match. His shoes were pure leather and were easily the most expensive pair in the building. The black mask he took from his grandfather's room was in his pocket. He had felt inclined to leave with it.Unlike Oliver who was enjoying the glances people threw at him, Marv was not so comfortable with the peering eyes. "You did say D&M Cars dealership sells the best cars in the city, didn't you?" Oliver asked Marv as he dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a black card. 'lionheart' was inscribed on the card."They have a reputation boss." Marv calmly replied. Oliver nodded afterward. The black card was a gift from his grandfather. It contained one billion dollars for shopping. Oliver wanted to get a car that suited his taste. Sure, his grandfather had a fleet of cars, but Oliver wanted something that was undeniably his style."Mr. Lionheart. I am so glad that you were able to join us."A tall, lanky man Oliver recognized as Jeff walked up to them. He was the manager of the D&M Cars dealership. D&M Cars dealership was sophisticated, and only rich people could get an appointment to make a purchase. Oliver, however, bypassed that by sending them a million dollars as a 'token.'"I hope you have been intrigued by what you've seen so far, Mr. Lionheart?"Jeff asked Oliver. He took a quick look at some of the cars on display, but he did not like any of them. They were not his style."Take me to your best session."Oliver told him and Jeff nodded.Oliver kept shooting glances at the amazing infrastructure of the car dealership. There were sample cars everywhere, and they really looked good. Then, Oliver stopped in front of a black Convertible. The car was mesmerizing and was easily the grandest car that Oliver has ever seen."This one. I want this one." Oliver said."I'm afraid that's not possible sir. This car already has a buyer."Jeff responded, prompting Oliver to furrow his brows. "A buyer? Who?" Oliver asked."Elina Grey. She's here with her fiance, Gerald Blackburn, and they're waiting for the documents as we speak."Jeff said.Oliver frowned when Elina's name was mentioned. His face went dark, and as he clenched his teeth, Jeff started to notice his displeasure."How much does the car cost?" Oliver asked in a low, guttural voice."Mr. Lionheart, I can't…""How much?!" Oliver cut him off."Ten million dollars, sir," Jeff responded, defeated. Oliver sighed. He had lost his cool for a moment."I will pay twenty million dollars for the car.""Mr. Lionheart, I just can't do this…""Thirty million, then."Jeff's heart skipped a beat when Oliver mentioned the money. He swallowed and looked around."I guess something can be arranged. It's usually not our policy, but we are willing to make an exception for you sir." He said to Oliver who smiled."Now, where is Elina Grey?"Oliver asked, and Jeff pointed to a room. "I will get the paperwork ready sir," Jeff added and quickly walked away. Oliver turned to Marv. "Stay out of sight. I will go in alone.""You want to reveal who you are?" Marv asked. Oliver scoffed."Not quite."He let out a mischievous grin as he pulled the black mask on. He walked into the room, while Marv went to find another route to observe Oliver. He had his orders not to let the young master out of his sight. As soon as Oliver stepped into the room with more video displays of the Convertible, he frowned behind his mask.Elina was sitting beside Gerald. She wore a pretty red dress and shoes. Gerald was aesthetic, as usual. When they saw the masked man walk into the room, they were fascinated."It's a nice car, isn't it?" Oliver said to them as he walked closer. Elina was quick to observe his class. He measured up to her standards. She smiled politely as he stood before them for she was actually Intrigued."It is the best. That's why we paid a whooping ten million dollars for it." Elina said with a proud look on her face."We will be using it for our wedding." She added. Gerald just observed the rich man standing before him. He was obviously intimated."Oh, really? Well, that's too bad. I just paid thirty million for it. The car's mine now." Oliver calmly responded. Elina froze in shock. She could feel her body trembling. She slowly let go of Gerald's hand as she shuddered lightly."The company cannot do that. We already made payments months ago!" She barked."They can, and they have. Your ten million should be refunded to you soon." Oliver replied. He was smiling behind the mask."Who the hell do you think you are?" Gerald flared up. He had had enough.Oliver chuckled."Get yourselves another car. I'll pay for it if you're short of funds. I'm quite generous."He added with another chuckle. Then, he turned and left. Elina yelled as she just sat on the chair, unsure of what to do. Gerald froze. What just happened? It had to be a joke."I will not take this!" Elina spat and walked out of the room. Gerald followed closely. She dashed through the hallway, gritting her teeth as her steps lacked coordination. She was fighting back tears. She had wanted that car for a very long time. It was her dream car!She saw Jeff and proceeded to meet him. But she slowed when she saw him handing some documents over to some poor-looking tramp dressed in old clothes. The poor man turned around, and Elina gasped when she saw Oliver."What the heck are you doing here? Who let you in here?" Elina yelled at Oliver who just stood in place with his head bowed. Marv soon joined the scene."Miss Elina. He paid for the car." Jeff said to her, but Elina scoffed. She was certain of who she saw earlier, and she knew it could never be Oliver. The poor tramp couldn't even speak!"Yeah, right. This beggar cannot afford anything in his life." Elina spat."I'm looking for someone. A man wearing a mask. He bought my car. Where is he? I want to speak with him, now!"Elina said to Jeff."There was no one here wearing a mask ma'am. Perhaps you're mistaken." Jeff said to her. Elina's face darkened."Are you calling me a liar?" She asked in disbelief. Jeff shunned her and handed the car keys to Oliver."Enjoy your ride, sir." He said, and Oliver nodded. Oliver gazed into Elina's eyes and shrugged before he walked out on them, Marv slowly trailing behind him. He smiled as soon as he turned his back."I'm just getting started," Oliver muttered. And then, right before Elina's eyes, Oliver got into the car and drove off at high speed. Elina felt light-headed. She staggered back, but Gerald caught her before she collapsed."What the hell just happened? What did I just witness?"Elina asked in shock as she paced around the room. Gerald had driven her home. She was visibly shaken, and she did not know what to do with her anger.Gerald on the other hand, sat calmly on the couch. His expression was mixed. The anger and embarrassment radiating through his body made him weak."Why did you just stand there, Gerald? Why didn't you do anything to stop him?" Elina asked as she dug her hand into her hair. She seemed to be losing it.She had never lost a thing in her life and it pained her so much."What did you expect me to do? Fight a man we couldn't even find?" Gerald frowned while he spoke. He could not believe her."You should have done something! Anything! You are a fucking man, Gerald. The least you could have done is defend me. Did you see the way Jeff spoke to me? He called me a liar, Gerald. And you just stood there."Elina sniffled. She sank down as her tears stained her cheeks with mascara. Gerald sighe
"Are you Oliver Cage? The man who applied for the position of a janitor here at Lionheart Group?" Stuart, the head of the staff at Lionheart, asked Oliver as he stood before the short man in his office. "Yes sir." Oliver calmly responded. His head was bowed, but he could see the sides of the office. It was modest, well-ventilated with catchy yellow blinds.Stuart thought for a moment while gazing at Oliver. He was having mixed emotions about the poor man standing before him. Oliver was still dressed in disguise, and he looked even poorer than ever."I do not think that you can work here, Oliver. You are far below what we employ here at Lionheart. You do know where you are, don't you?" Stuart asked. Oliver sighed. So, he was going to play that game, wasn't he?"Sir, please. I need this job. I cannot afford to be unemployed. If you would give me a chance, I promise to clean as best as I can." Oliver muttered.Stuart sighed as he ran his hands through some paperwork. He turned to Oliver
"No…no…no! This cannot be happening!" Gerald shuddered as he quickly turned his laptop off. His mind was filled with a lot of wandering thoughts. He tried to focus, but he was too tense to do so."Fuck!'He groaned and punched the table. The table was wooden, so it could not break. But Gerald bruised his knuckles instead."Sir, are you alright?" His secretary ran into the office after hearing the bang. Gerald closed his eyes briefly and breathed. "Cancel the rest of my appointments for the day. I am leaving the office this instant." Gerald told her."But sir, you have a very important meeting with the CEO of prime salts in an hour…""Are you fucking deaf? Cancel the fucking meeting and reschedule! Or I will find someone who can obey me." Gerald barked at his secretary. She froze."Why are you doing this, sir? You said you loved me." The secretary muttered. Tears were forming at the angle of her eyes."Love? You were just a plaything. Get the fuck out of here!" Gerald scoffed afterwar
The Grandeur Art Auction was indeed the event of the month. Millionaires trooped into that art gallery from all over the country, sending each other admirable looks, as well as looks of slander. The event was hosted by Amelia Grandeur, the daughter of Emil Grandeur, one of the art professors in the city. Amelia, like her father, had inherited a love for the arts. She established an orphanage and allowed her kids to paint. But unfortunately, the rich folks did not pay much to buy their work on ordinary days. She was broke and was at the brim of shutting down the orphanage. She had to rely on events such as this to get funds for her orphanage. The art auction then became a meeting ground for millionaires to discuss business in a fun and lively way, neglecting the children in the process."The works are terrible, aren't they? She shouldn't let her bloody orphans paint."Elina said to Gerald as she clutched to him. "Hmm." That was all he responded with. There was a particular painting
Gerald sat perfectly still on the couch as he tried to wrap his head around what had happened. He could not believe that he had been reduced to so little. He was supposed to be the acting CEO of Lionheart Group for gods sake! Why did The Crow, the biggest broadcasting company in the city devide to write about the humiliating incident? Why did they incite the public against him? Gerald still couldn't believe any of these things were happening. He felt like he was losing his mind."You have a call, sir." A servant walked up to him with a phone. Gerald picked up the phone."Yes?" "I heard what happened in the news. Are you alright?" A woman's voice said from the other side of the phone. Gerald was instantly alarmed."Mum? How are you calling me? Where are you?" He asked. "You dumped me in rehab, remember? What, did you think that I would never get the chance to speak with you again? How could you do that to your own mother?" Mrs Blackburn asked."You were a blemish on my career. You kn
"Ducks." Was the very next thing Oliver said to Gerald. "Ducks?" Gerald asked, puzzled."I saw them bring in new ducks for their pond. There were about five of them…". Gerald watched in bewilderment as Oliver spoke. He could not believe his ears. "I just thought you should know since you asked sir…" Oliver concluded."Oh, you stupid little thing. I guess your poverty has affected your sense of reasoning as well. Get out, now!" Gerald barked. Oliver quickly bowed and walked out of the house.Oliver scoffed and smiled as soon as he stepped outside. His plan had worked. But there was something very important that he needed to do, something that had been delayed for too long already."Marv, bring the car around." Oliver said to Marv over the phone. As soon as he walked out of Gerald's house's vicinity, he entered the car and Marv drove off.Marv followed Oliver's instructions and drove towards his old house. Marv parked the car in a corner."Stay here." Oliver said to him. Marv nodded.Ol
"You need to relax, boss, Edgar would never do anything to hurt your sister. Yes, he was a jerk in prison but he has his limits," Marv tried to calm Oliver down but Oliver's heavy stomps could not be calmed, not even in the slightest. He dashed towards his former apartment, much to the surprise of the occupants who had just seen him leave."How dare he? How dare he raise his Filthy hand on my sister? I will break those fingers of his!" Oliver barked. He dashed towards the corridor, shoving people out of the way while they cried. As soon as he gets to Picks' room, Oliver bursts open the door. But Vera was not there. There was no sign of struggle. The room was mildly furnished, and had a television hanging on the wall. Oliver could see Vera's clothings arranged by the side of the wardrobe, but the majority of the wardrobe was occupied by Picks' stuff."How did he get her? I turned my back for a moment. Where could he possibly go?" Oliver wondered out loud. He thought for some time, and c
Edgar gasped as the gun he held in his hand fell. He staggered back, giving Vera the opportunity to run away from him. A bullet had pierced his abdomen, and before he knew it, he crumbled to the ground.Oliver walked closer to him with the gun still in his hand. He avoided eye contact with Vera who stood at the side, shivering. She could not believe what just happened. "You have two choices, Edgar. One, you submit to me and I save your life, and two, I leave you here and you die. Which will it be?" Oliver asked Edgar wearing a poker face. Edgar was terrified of this new version. He tried to speak but he coughed out blood instead."S-save m-m-me…" he managed to mutter. The shadows rushed to the room to check what had happened, and they gave a sigh of relief when they found out that Oliver was safe."He's losing too much blood. Take him to the hospital. I missed the vital organs. He will survive." Oliver said to Marv who nodded. But as he approached Vera, she shuddered and took a step b
