Chapter five

There was a sudden hush in the air as Oliver stepped into the D&M Cars dealership. He slowly walked further inside, with Marv trailing behind him.

Oliver was dressed in a black Brioni suit, with a Patek Phillipe Calamander wristwatch to match. His shoes were pure leather and were easily the most expensive pair in the building.

The black mask he took from his grandfather's room was in his pocket. He had felt inclined to leave with it.

Unlike Oliver who was enjoying the glances people threw at him, Marv was not so comfortable with the peering eyes.

"You did say D&M Cars dealership sells the best cars in the city, didn't you?"

Oliver asked Marv as he dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a black card. 'lionheart' was inscribed on the card.

"They have a reputation boss."

Marv calmly replied. Oliver nodded afterward. The black card was a gift from his grandfather. It contained one billion dollars for shopping. Oliver wanted to get a car that suited his taste.

Sure, his grandfather had a fleet of cars, but Oliver wanted something that was undeniably his style.

"Mr. Lionheart. I am so glad that you were able to join us."

A tall, lanky man Oliver recognized as Jeff walked up to them. He was the manager of the D&M Cars dealership.

D&M Cars dealership was sophisticated, and only rich people could get an appointment to make a purchase. Oliver, however, bypassed that by sending them a million dollars as a 'token.'

"I hope you have been intrigued by what you've seen so far, Mr. Lionheart?"

Jeff asked Oliver. He took a quick look at some of the cars on display, but he did not like any of them. They were not his style.

"Take me to your best session."

Oliver told him and Jeff nodded.

Oliver kept shooting glances at the amazing infrastructure of the car dealership. There were sample cars everywhere, and they really looked good.

Then, Oliver stopped in front of a black Convertible. The car was mesmerizing and was easily the grandest car that Oliver has ever seen.

"This one. I want this one." Oliver said.

"I'm afraid that's not possible sir. This car already has a buyer."

Jeff responded, prompting Oliver to furrow his brows.

"A buyer? Who?" Oliver asked.

"Elina Grey. She's here with her fiance, Gerald Blackburn, and they're waiting for the documents as we speak."

Jeff said.

Oliver frowned when Elina's name was mentioned. His face went dark, and as he clenched his teeth, Jeff started to notice his displeasure.

"How much does the car cost?" Oliver asked in a low, guttural voice.

"Mr. Lionheart, I can't…"

"How much?!" Oliver cut him off.

"Ten million dollars, sir," Jeff responded, defeated. Oliver sighed. He had lost his cool for a moment.

"I will pay twenty million dollars for the car."

"Mr. Lionheart, I just can't do this…"

"Thirty million, then."

Jeff's heart skipped a beat when Oliver mentioned the money. He swallowed and looked around.

"I guess something can be arranged. It's usually not our policy, but we are willing to make an exception for you sir." He said to Oliver who smiled.

"Now, where is Elina Grey?"

Oliver asked, and Jeff pointed to a room.

"I will get the paperwork ready sir," Jeff added and quickly walked away.

Oliver turned to Marv.

"Stay out of sight. I will go in alone."

"You want to reveal who you are?" Marv asked. Oliver scoffed.

"Not quite."

He let out a mischievous grin as he pulled the black mask on. He walked into the room, while Marv went to find another route to observe Oliver. He had his orders not to let the young master out of his sight.

As soon as Oliver stepped into the room with more video displays of the Convertible, he frowned behind his mask.

Elina was sitting beside Gerald. She wore a pretty red dress and shoes. Gerald was aesthetic, as usual. When they saw the masked man walk into the room, they were fascinated.

"It's a nice car, isn't it?" Oliver said to them as he walked closer. Elina was quick to observe his class. He measured up to her standards. She smiled politely as he stood before them for she was actually Intrigued.

"It is the best. That's why we paid a whooping ten million dollars for it." Elina said with a proud look on her face.

"We will be using it for our wedding." She added. Gerald just observed the rich man standing before him. He was obviously intimated.

"Oh, really? Well, that's too bad. I just paid thirty million for it. The car's mine now." Oliver calmly responded. Elina froze in shock. She could feel her body trembling. She slowly let go of Gerald's hand as she shuddered lightly.

"The company cannot do that. We already made payments months ago!" She barked.

"They can, and they have. Your ten million should be refunded to you soon." Oliver replied. He was smiling behind the mask.

"Who the hell do you think you are?" Gerald flared up. He had had enough.

Oliver chuckled.

"Get yourselves another car. I'll pay for it if you're short of funds. I'm quite generous."

He added with another chuckle. Then, he turned and left. Elina yelled as she just sat on the chair, unsure of what to do. Gerald froze. What just happened? It had to be a joke.

"I will not take this!" Elina spat and walked out of the room. Gerald followed closely.

She dashed through the hallway, gritting her teeth as her steps lacked coordination. She was fighting back tears. She had wanted that car for a very long time. It was her dream car!

She saw Jeff and proceeded to meet him.  But she slowed when she saw him handing some documents over to some poor-looking tramp dressed in old clothes.

The poor man turned around, and Elina gasped when she saw Oliver.

"What the heck are you doing here? Who let you in here?" Elina yelled at Oliver who just stood in place with his head bowed.

Marv soon joined the scene.

"Miss Elina. He paid for the car." Jeff said to her, but Elina scoffed. She was certain of who she saw earlier, and she knew it could never be Oliver.

The poor tramp couldn't even speak!

"Yeah, right. This beggar cannot afford anything in his life." Elina spat.

"I'm looking for someone. A man wearing a mask. He bought my car. Where is he? I want to speak with him, now!"

Elina said to Jeff.

"There was no one here wearing a mask ma'am. Perhaps you're mistaken." Jeff said to her. Elina's face darkened.

"Are you calling me a liar?" She asked in disbelief. Jeff shunned her and handed the car keys to Oliver.

"Enjoy your ride, sir." He said, and Oliver nodded. Oliver gazed into Elina's eyes and shrugged before he walked out on them, Marv slowly trailing behind him.

He smiled as soon as he turned his back.

"I'm just getting started," Oliver muttered.

And then, right before Elina's eyes, Oliver got into the car and drove off at high speed.

Elina felt light-headed. She staggered back, but Gerald caught her before she collapsed.
