Everywhere fell silent and by the time Lyon’s eyes fluttered open it was morning already. His head hurt and for a moment he still couldn’t register what had happened in his head.Groaning, Lyon made his way to the bathroom and that was when he realized that his necklace had been switched out.It wasn’t the same amulet that suppressed his powers, it was the exact one he saw his mother put around his neck in the dream.Holding it, Lyon winced at how hot the necklace was and he looked at his palm to see that it had gotten really burnt.He could feel the power of the necklace around his neck and his mother’s words kept ringing in his head. “I’m beat!” Kelvin growled as he collapsed on the floor while Lyon and Asher laid beside him but Elen, Chelsey and Abraham seemed to be the one still on their feet.Despite the house not being overly dirty, it took over four hours for the entire team to get every nook and cranny of the house that was covered in dust.“Tell me about it,” Lyon felt as though he was on the verge of tears, his back hurt so much and cleaning usually isn’t something that hurts him so much but today was different.“Feels good to clean with a bunch of friends.” Lyon smiled as he closed his eyes. Everyone immediately sprung into action, risking their lives and taking it upon themselves to eradicate the monsters.The monsters were nothing like any of them before and despite being a veteran with more experience, Abraham couldn’t hide the fact that he was shaken up.Memories soon started flooding him and a bile formed at the back of his throat as he forcefully pushed it down while everyone kept their eyes on the battle.None of the monsters were giving up and if anything, they seemed to be multiplying, their numbers added up and it didn’t take long for something to flash through Chelsey’s mind.Her heart raced faster than it ever did before, she felt like she was on the brink of death and as the feeling infested deeply into her, her body felt extremely hot.Looking behind her, she saw everyone engaging in more than three monsters all at once, it was an all out battle and fear soon engraved itself in her heart.There’s no way we’ll all survive this. It was afternoon already and having nothing else to do after defeating all of the entities, Lyon and the rest made their way back to the house.“Do you still think it’s a good idea to bring the citizens back out?” Elen asked Lyon as they both helped Chelsey out in the kitchen.Basically every one of them was in the kitchen, they all needed to think up their next move, they all needed to be prepared even though they had no idea when the shadows would strike yet.“I don’t know,” Lyon sighed as he focused on the onions he was dicing, his mind conflicted and a part of him felt like he would be making a big mistake if he ever asks for the citizen to come back.Another part of him told him that the Shadows won’t strike again until they can tell that they’re people around, they might want to use the citizens to drive him into a corner.Lyon sighed again, asking the citizens to come back outside would put them in grave danger but asking them to remain in hiding would lessen his chance of ever
