The world is hard - Part.2

"Sorry sir, I'm sorry sir, I'm sorry," Karina said, bowing her head to 45 degrees. His body was trembling with fear.

"WHERE TO WORK!! YOUR PAYMENT I cut 50 percent!!" he said, who then left.

BRAKKK!!!

He was so angry that he slammed the door so hard that the window was shaking. It feels like the soul is floating with fear, otherwise, she has to freshen up to work, Karina has fainted with fear. But it seems that the mental slowness that she has is getting stronger. Facing people like the cafe owner wasn't the first time. He had met someone so much worse that he carried animal names and other harsh words.

Karina immediately walked out of the staff room to the cafe. She only works as a waitress and works 4 hours a day, a week only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It's true what the cafe owner said, she is only a part-time employee but can't show performance like a senior employee who works in this cafe. Even though her inner feelings are hurt by his speech, he has the right to claim responsibility from her point of view. It's just, it's a little hard and rough.

As a waitress, she was required to be friendly and smiling. Now her heart wants to cry, but she has to keep smiling waiting for customers to call to take orders.

"Excuse me!!" exclaimed a customer who came face-to-face with Karina who then rushed to her.

"Yes! How can I help you? What do you want to order?" Karina asked kindly to two male customers who were looking at the menu book she just gave.

However, Karina's eyes were turned away for a few seconds when she saw a man wearing the same uniform. Not wanting to make her disturbed Karina secretly looked at the boy's face, and in just two seconds Karina could immediately recognize the person. Both eyes were dimmed for a fraction of a second, but the adult man in front of the student immediately turned his mind.

"I wanted to order a One Set Lunch Double-A but the potatoes were changed to rice, if you're Lucas what would you like?" Frank asked.

"Anything," Lucas said for a second.

"Well, then, Set Lunch there are two, okay!" he said.

"Yeah, right. Anything else?"

"Drink orange juice with cola,"

"Yes, right. I repeat your order. A Double Lunch Set of Two potatoes replaced rice, one orange ice, and cola," said Karina.

"Yes, I do," said Frank.

"Okay. Please wait for the order," Karina said while picking up the menu book before she left.

Karina walks with a face that is still surprised not to believe she can meet new students at her workplace. But when seen, the new student was unaware of his existence. His attitude was completely indifferent even to the adults he was sitting with. Karina can only hope that the new student doesn't know her.

While putting his hands on the table with a serious look, Frank kept buying time while he was waiting for news about Lewis. "So, how's he doing?" Lucas asked.

"He has been out since a week ago," he replied, holding his cell phone and showing Lucas a photo that immediately took it roughly.

It's true, the person in the picture is Lewis. The guilt and longing to see a friend he hadn't seen in a long time and because of himself Lewis had to languish alone there for all the blame he had inflicted on him. Although Lucas could only see from the photo, he could feel how sad Lewis was and how fragile he was.

Tears begin to seep into every corner of her eyes, Lucas tries to hold back the tears because he doesn't have the right to cry.

"I already knew about his family. His mother left him while still in prison and now he has no one," he said, making Lucas feel more guilty about Lewis' life.

"Then where is he now?" Lucas asked, urging Frank that he could immediately meet Lewis at any cost. He must kneel apologizing or he must die at the hands of Lewis and Lucas ready for the consequences he will accept at the hands of his best friend.

"You're out of your mind!! You can't! Don't even think about finding out what else to see Lewis!!" Frank said very firmly against Lucas' wishes. "You could have been hurt by him. Don't you know how angry he was when you found out you were free, the look in his eyes at that time, even I got goosebumps," he said again recalling the incident six months ago when he visited Lewis.

"I don't care, even if I have to die in Lewis' hands," Lucas said.

Hearing what his nephew said made Frank speechless. A look of hopeless eyes and no lies there. This can't be allowed.

"Lucas!! Wake up!! You must continue your future!! Don't act rashly before you die in Lewin's hands, maybe you're dead in your father's hands, just so you know it!" Frank's anger made Lucas silent.

He can understand Lucas's feelings right now, full of guilt. But that doesn't mean he's giving up his future. Lucas hates her no matter how much her mother's death, but he has a promise to this loved one who is already on the other side. He has promised to look after Lucas no matter what.

Lucas was still silent with a look of destruction. I don't know what the kid's thinking right now. Frank can only breathe and hope Lucas doesn't act stupid. Soon a waitress who had just come to take orders now came to give her the food she ordered.

"Excuse me. This is your order of One Set Lunch Double-A and the drink. If you need anything, please call. Enjoy your meal,"

"Yes. Thank you," said Frank politely, looking at the waitress who looked so young, as if she was the same age as her nephew.

"Yes," Karina said — walking away to get back to work.

"Come on, we eat it first, Lucas. You must be hungry, right?" he said.

"I'm out of here!" Lucas said as he moved from the seat — just walking away without saying anything to his mother who could only sigh at the sight of Lucas leaving without touching a single piece of food that had just arrived.

"Huff ... He hasn't even eaten anything since morning. Huff …" he said worriedly.

Karina doesn't understand what happened to Lucas and the adult, so she just takes Lucas away with an angry step past him who is cleaning the dirty table. Karina looked back. Looking at the intact food on the table and only a grown man seems to be eating his food. It's none of his business, but his attitude is really rude in front of his food. If he doesn't want to respect that adult, at least respect the food that eats and doesn't choose anything wrong.
