Hearing the support from the other rich young men, Laurie smiled inwardly, though her face still showed sadness as she continued to gaze at Alexander.

“Ha ha.”

From behind his mask, Alexander let out a faint laugh, then turned and walked directly into the Radiant Hall.

The crowd parted to let him pass, forming a path to the grand hall as they watched him disappear inside.

Laurie stared blankly at the masked figure’s retreating back, not understanding what he meant.

Was that laugh all there was?

She had put on such a performance, and all he did was laugh?
