While Norwood was feeling triumphant, Rubin observed him through the camera, a glint of interest in his eyes.

“Perfect, someone jumped in willingly to play the villain—inviting him was worth it.” Rubin mused, standing up and gesturing to his subordinates. Surrounded by them like a star, he stepped out of the room.

He had orchestrated everything, waiting for someone to clash with Alexander. As soon as conflict arose, Rubin could swoop in, rescue Alexander like a knight saving a princess, and gain the trust of Alexander and his wife.

Rubin believed his plan was flawless, leaving no room for error.
