Rubin smiled wryly and said: “I’m truly sorry about tonight. I didn’t expect things to go this far. I’ll have someone escort you home.”

“Thank you.” Alexander replied calmly.

Rubin arranged for two bodyguards to take Alexander and Eleanor home. Then he looked at the pile of bodies on the floor, wondering how on earth to deal with the aftermath.

With so many dead, no matter where it happened, it would be a big deal. He needed reliable support to handle this.

After a moment’s hesitation, Rubin pulled out his phone to check, noting that the signal had been restored and the jamming lifted.

He found Joaquin’s number and dialed, speaking nervously: “Mr. Joaquin, there was an unexpected situation tonight. I’m afraid I couldn’t fully complete the task.”

"What unexpected situation?" Joaquin asked.
