Danger!

Walking into the forest, Elijah looked around with a hint of amazement, the forest was not as he had thought, behind the tall trees was an entirely different world.

It looked lush and the forest excluded a strange sense of beauty with flowers all around. Apart from the birds chirping away, there was nothing to be heard again.

The place was extremely silent which showed that the students had long left that place. Well, then Elijah was not a bit surprised. This was a mystic realm and it would be surprising if it wasn't big enough.

Sighing, Elijah looked around wondering where he should go. He had to hunt beasts and get their cores so he would be able to exchange them with cultivation resources at the school, but then, there were no beasts nearby.

Besides, he was incompletely prepared. Apart from the fireball spell he had learned yesterday, he didn't know any other spell. Also, all he came with was a dagger his sister had given to him just in case.

Besides, the spell was merely at the first level and he could at most form a fireball at a time. Forming more than one at a time would deplete his mana faster and his control over it would also decrease.

Soon, it was getting dark, Elijah could already hear the roars and howls of various beasts who were getting ready to hunt.

He had to look for a place to spend the night, he couldn't continue to wander around, or even he was going to risk becoming a meal for one of those ferocious animals.

Ahoooo!

Suddenly, the loud howl of a wolf sounded nearby making Elijah's face scrunch up in displeasure.

Just as he was about to continue to walk, he suddenly froze as he looked around. Behind one of the trees were two bloodshot eyes staring at him.

"Shit!"

Elijah cursed as he understood what was happening, he had trespassed the territory of a direwolf. Frowning, he looked around and couldn't help but breathe in relief seeing that it was just one direwolf.

Direwolves usually live in packs and hunt at night. While hunting, one of the direwolves would stay back to guard the territory which was why Elijah saw only a single direwolf.

If not for that, he would have long been surrounded by the aggressive direwolves and turned into dinner.

Elijah frowned as he stared at the direwolf, knowing well that he couldn't possibly outrun the beast, he started to chant the fireball spell silently.

The direwolf growled slowly as it looked at Elijah while observing the latter. Direwolves's senses were keen to danger and in the next moment, the wolf rushed out dashing straight at Elijah.

"Fuck! Can't you allow me to complete my chanting first!" Elijah cursed in his heart as he sped up the incantation.

A single direwolf was the size of three normal wolves, at this moment, the huge direwolf rushed towards Elijah at great speed.

Getting to Elijah the direwolf swiped out with its claws aiming directly at Elijah's face.

"Fuck!"

Elijah cursed once again and hurriedly stopped the incantation and then raised his hand to protect his face.

Bang!

Elijah was sent flying as he hit a tree in the surroundings. There was a deep cut on his arms and he felt pain all over his body. If not for the fact that he had advanced to become a warrior, that claw swipe would have directly severed his hands, and coupled with the force he used to hit the tree, he would have been left with a few broken bones.

Wiping away the blood at the corner of his mouth, Elijah couldn't care less about his bleeding arm and immediately concentrated once again as the direwolf approached him.

Quickly circulating his mana, two clones appeared beside him. Seeing this, the direwolf suddenly stopped as he looked at the clones that had just appeared.

Nevertheless, it approached and attacked wanting to finish off the three humans at the same time.

"Buy me some time," Elijah commanded and immediately ran behind one of the trees and began to observe the fight.

The direwolf didn't notice him running behind the trees as a result it faced the two clones and attacked aggressively. Elijah's heart almost flew out of his body as he watched the scene.

In a short time, the two clones were battered by the dire wolf, even though they didn't disperse, they were bleeding heavily. Once they dispersed, all the pains were going to be transferred back to him which was going to be a pain in the ass.

After a while, Elijah ignored the fight and began to chant the fireball spell, he had to do something, or else he was going to die before he knew it.

"Fuck this was too slow," Elijah muttered in his heart as he chanted.

When the exercise finished, he was going to learn the second way of casting a spell. Though chanting of a spell was directly reliant on the caster's ability. The more used the caster was to the chant, the faster they'll be able.

They could chant as fast as they could but the priority was not to make any mistakes.

Elijah closed his eyes and began to chant the spell at the same time, making a mental image of how big he wanted the fireball to be.

After a minute or two, the mana in the surroundings began to gather toward Elijah and it became stronger with each second stirring up a whirlwind as they moved toward him.

The whirlwind immediately attracted the attention of the direwolf and it immediately turned towards the concentration of mana.

Seeing Elijah standing there with his eyes closed and the mana gathering towards him became even stronger, with each second, the direwolf felt a sense of panic and knew that it had to stop this human as soon as it could.

Whatever spell the human was chanting was very dangerous and it would be greatly affected if it let him finish.

The next moment, the direwolf hit Elijah's clones trying to stop it, sending them flying, and rushed towards Elijah. Immediately the clones landed on the floor, they dispersed with a puff.
