Walking into the forest, Elijah looked around with a hint of amazement. The forest was not as he had thought, behind the tall trees was an entirely different world.
It looked lush and the forest excluded a strange sense of beauty with flowers all around. Apart from the birds chirping away, there was nothing to be heard again. The place was extremely silent which showed that the students had long left that place. Elijah was not a bit surprised. This was a mystic realm and it would be surprising if it wasn't big. Sighing, Elijah looked around wondering where he should go. He had to hunt beasts and get their cores so he would be able to exchange them with cultivation resources at the school, but then, there were no beasts nearby. Besides, he was incompletely prepared. Apart from the fireball spell he had learned yesterday, he didn't know any other spell. Also, all he came with, was a dagger his sister had given to him just in case. Besides, the spell was merely at the first level and he could at most cast a fireball at a time. Casting more than one at a time would deplete his mana faster and his control over it would also decrease. Soon, it got dark. Elijah could already hear the roars and howls of various beasts getting ready to hunt. He had to look for a place to spend the night. He couldn't continue to wander around, or he was going to risk becoming a meal for one of those ferocious beasts Ahoooo! Suddenly, the loud howl of a wolf sounded nearby making Elijah's face scrunch up in displeasure. Just as he was about to continue to walk away, he froze as he looked around. Behind one of the trees were two bloodshot eyes staring at him. "Shit!" Elijah cursed as he understood what was happening, he had trespassed the territory of a direwolf. Frowning, he looked around and couldn't help but breathe in relief seeing that it was just one direwolf. Direwolves usually live in packs and hunt at night. While hunting, one of the direwolves would stay back to guard the territory which was why Elijah saw only a single direwolf. If not for that, he would have long been surrounded by the aggressive direwolves and turned into dinner. Elijah frowned as he stared at the direwolf. Knowing well that he couldn't possibly outrun the beast, he started to chant the fireball spell silently. The direwolf growled slowly as it observed the latter. Direwolves's senses were keen to danger and in the next moment, the wolf rushed out dashing straight at Elijah. "Fuck! Can't you allow me to complete my chanting first!" Elijah cursed in his heart speeding up the incantation. A single direwolf was the size of three normal wolves. The huge direwolf rushed towards Elijah at great speed. Getting to Elijah the direwolf swiped out with its claws aiming directly at Elijah's face. "Fuck!" Elijah cursed once again and hurriedly stopped the incantation and then raised his hand to protect his face. Bang! Elijah was sent flying as he hit a tree. There was a deep cut on his arms and he felt pain all over his body. If not for the fact that he was already in the Iron Bone Stage. He would have broken a few bones due to the collision. Wiping away the blood at the corner of his mouth. Elijah couldn't care less about his bleeding arm and immediately concentrated once again as the direwolf approached him. Quickly circulating his mana, two clones appeared beside him. Seeing this, the direwolf suddenly stopped and looked at the clones that had just appeared. Nevertheless, it approached and attacked wanting to finish off the three humans at the same time. "Buy me some time," Elijah instructed and immediately ran behind one of the trees to observe the fight. The direwolf didn't notice him running behind the trees as a result, faced the two clones and attacked aggressively. Elijah's heart almost flew out of his chest as he watched the scene. In a short time, the two clones were battered by the direwolf, even though they didn't disperse, they were bleeding heavily. Once they dispersed, all the pains were going to be transferred back to him which was going to be a pain in the ass. After a while, Elijah ignored the fight and began to chant the fireball spell. He had to do something, or else he was going to die before he knew it. "Fuck this was too slow," Elijah muttered in his heart as he chanted. When the exercise finished, he was going to learn the second way of casting a spell. Though chanting of a spell was directly reliant on the caster's ability. The more used the caster was to the chant, the faster they'll be able. They could chant as fast as they could but the priority was not to make any mistakes. Elijah closed his eyes and began to chant the spell at the same time, making a mental image of how big he wanted the fireball to be. After a minute or two, the mana in the surroundings began to gather toward Elijah and it became stronger with each second stirring up a whirlwind. The whirlwind attracted the attention of the direwolf and it turned towards the concentration of the mana. Seeing Elijah standing there with his eyes closed and the mana gathering towards him became even stronger, with each second. The direwolf felt a sense of panic and knew that it had to stop this human as soon as it could. Whatever spell the human was chanting was very dangerous and it would be greatly affected if it let him finish. The next moment, the direwolf hit Elijah's clones trying to stop it sending them flying and rushed towards Elijah.Related Chapters

A huge wave of pain took over Elijah's senses as he felt numb. There was no need to open his eyes. He knew his clones had been killed. Also, he could tell that the direwolf was rushing towards him at the moment so there was no way he could stop chanting the spell. Once he did, that would be the end of everything and he would become a meal for the direwolf. But then the chant was not completed. Besides, he needed to concentrate or else the spell was going to end up backfiring. Knowing quite well the danger, Elijah concentrated on the chant. Soon his surroundings became extremely hot as the fireball spell slowly took shape. A giant fireball was hovering in the air right in front of him. Elijah was shocked seeing this, but there was no time to be surprised. He had to act, the direwolf was almost close to him. Besides, he had only a shot, so he couldn't afford to miss it, or else he was going to become a meal to the direwolf. He could feel the link to the fireball even though he felt

The direwolf froze mid-air, after a while, both Elijah and the direwolf fell to the floor. The direwolf's injured body serving as a cushion for Elijah. Elijah fell as a result of exhaustion unable to resist the weight of the direwolf. After a while, Elijah sat up, not minding that he was inside a pool of blood, he began to absorb the blood essence of the direwolf. He had already wasted a lot of time and if he wasted even more time, the blood essence would dissipate. Blood essence was essential for body cultivators as the blood essence could help them increase their body Cultivation even though the effects were minimal. The higher the level of a beast, the more valuable the blood essence was. Though the direwolf was just a Low-level Soldier beast, Elijah wasn't willing to let go of the blood essences. He had suffered a lot before he was able to kill the beast, there was no way he was going to let it go. After a while, Elijah opened his eyes. He could feel his bones harden and could

Elijah ran at full speed not daring to stop even though he was tired. The fight with the direwolf had drained him completely, and now he had to run for his life again. Knowing well he couldn't outrun the direwolves if in case they had chosen to follow him, he didn't turn around to check if they were after him or not, all he wanted was a good distance. He was too tired to cast any spell. Besides, he would be dead before he would be able to complete a spell. Also there were four direwolves. How the heck would he be able to create four fireballs when his mastery over one was not good at all. After sprinting for about ten minutes, Elijah tripped and landed face fist to the floor. Just as he was about to stand up and continue running, he suddenly frowned and then turned around slowly. Much to his surprise, there was no direwolf following him, it seemed like they had followed one of his clones. Seeing this, Elijah breathed a sigh of relief and fell back to the floor while panting heavil

(Two Days Later) “Multiple fireballs!” Elijah yelled in his heart just as he finished chanting the spell and the next moment, five fireballs appeared out of thin air, hovering right in front of him. “Die!” Elijah laughed, pointing at the weak beast. A low-level Soldier Terraclaw Lizard. A creature that looked like a lizard but a giant one, known for its perfect defense. But presently, the Terraclaw Lizard lay on the floor unable to move, blood flowing out of its body watching as the fireballs headed its way. After making sure that the beast was dead, Elijah strode forward, tore open its stomach, then took its beast core, after which he turned around and walked away, not bothering to absorb its blood essences. It had already been two days since they were in the mystic Realm. Elijah had managed to fight numerous beasts and had managed to perfect the first level of the spell which was the fireball. He had just got through to the second stage of the spell because the defense of th

Elijah frowned seeing the beast, on one of its six heads was one with a horn. If Elijah's knowledge was more wide, then he would have realized that this was a Six-headed python that was about to advance to the high-level Soldier rank. Six-headed pythons were born as low-level Soldier beasts. Each of their heads would grow a horn signifying that they had broken through. All the heads would continue to grow a horn until they all grew one. As a result, six-headed pythons were among the beasts that had the potential to reach the High-level commander rank. But currently, the six-headed python Elijah was facing was not yet an adult and could still be considered as a baby. Even the first horn had yet to grow. “Hisss!” The hissing of the beast brought Elijah back to his sen

The six-headed Python went up in flames, burning intensely. Elijah smirked, watching as the beast burnt. Knowing well that the beast might not die because of the flames, Elijah pulled out his dagger, waiting for it to extinguish the flames. He watched as the beast wriggled. Loud and strange hissing sounds were coming from it as it turned. After what seemed like ten minutes, the six-headed Python managed to put off the fire by wiggling its body all around causing a lot of injury. “Hissssss!” The six-headed Python hissed at Elijah. Its body was covered with injuries because of the flames. The flames were stronger than it had expected, so it had taken a lot of effort for it to put it off, resulting in a lot of things. “What a tough thing you are!” Elijah grinned racing towards the beast with a confident expression. “Hisss!” The six-headed python hissed and spat at Elijah. Elijah, who was expecting this, jumped high enough to evade the deadly liquid. Swinging his arms fo

“I should be strong enough to defeat more beasts.” Elijah muttered under his breath, walking out of the cave. It had been two days since he was in the cave. During the two days, he had learned both the Earth Spell, which was called Earth Wall, and the Lighting spell, thunder whip to a certain extent. Though he was yet cast any of the two spells after learning it, he was sure that the time which he was going to spend in chanting the spell would not be much. As a result, his confidence grew. Also, with the help of the Star moon fruit, he had broken through to the Steel Skin stage. In this stage, his skin would be as hard as steel. Ordinary weapons wouldn't be injure him. Also, he was invulnerable to some basic spells. If he were to fight the direwolf he fought the last time, he would be able to kill it without chanting any spell. His physical strength alone was enough to take on the wolf. He could stand his ground against the six-headed python he fought in the cave. “Let's see how

But this time, his prayers would not work as the Direwolf headed straight after the real Elijah. “Why are you so persistent? Why don't you just follow the others? We are all one!” Elijah yelled in his heart while he ran at full speed. “Attack the direwolf from behind.” Elijah mind-linked his clones, commanding them to attack. The two clones, which had already changed their course of direction, turned around following Elijah and the Direwolf. Soon they caught up to the two. “One of you should chant the second level of the fireball spell and the other should fire the first level at it,” Elijah commanded in his heart, knowing well what was going to happen if he didn't manage the situation effectively. Direwolves had keen senses of danger. It seemed like Elijah had forgotten about this, which was why he had asked his clones to attack from behind. No, not that he forgot, rather he never knew about it. The former Elijah hated to read and the little knowledge he had was just from listen

The fatty stuttered, trying to refuse, his face flushed."There's no need for you to refuse, we are both wind mages, so you'll definitely need more attack spells," Alex comforted, still pushing the paper into Fang Yuan's hands."Fine," Fang Yuan had no other choice but to accept the paper. Even if he wanted to refuse it, there was no way he could."Good," Alex grinned then walked towards Elijah,"We'll be taking our leave now. There's a lot we need to do, so we'll be returning back to the city first. What I taught you was just a normal thing a mage should know, so count it as me doing you a favor," Alex shrugged, shoving the fruits into Elijah's hands."Then I'll have to pay back the favor in the future," Elijah frowned slightly, still not wanting to accept the fruit from Alex."I wouldn't force that on you," Alex chuckled, walking over to Fang Yuan also giving him two of the fruits. The disdain he had for the latter in his heart had also vanished. Defeating The Dragon
Hearing Alex's command, the group hurriedly circulated their mana, wanting to protect their ears, but it was already a bit too late. The flood dragon's sonic roar had already bypassed their defense, getting into their ears and causing them to bleed. At the same time destabilizing them while they staggered backward.Elijah was the only one who felt a bit better. He was able to use his physical strength to blood the effects of the roar.Blackie also had blood flowing down its eyes and ears. The golem was directly shattered by the force of the sonic wave.Josh was also not affected. Since all of his body was made of metal, the sonic sound was blocked out by it. Of course, this was because it was a dragon's roar from a young flood dragon.Immediately the flood dragon regained its freedom; it roared once again, increasing the blood flood of the group and causing them to stagger once again.Though they had protected their ears with their mana, it didn't seem to be enough. Elijah was also af

"Boom!"A loud sound resounded throughout the whole place. The force sent the flood dragon flying and rolling on the floor, which kicked up dust and gravel. At the same time, the recoil shook Elijah, forcing him to stagger backward while holding his arms which felt numb. The force just now had almost shattered his bones. He didn't expect the scales of the dragon to be so strong, so the recoil was not simple either."Elijah!" Alex and the others called, rushing towards Elijah who had staggered backwards.Though they didn't see Elijah's clone, they saw him punching the flood dragon, which was what gave them enough time to stabilize and rush to his aid."I'm fine," Elijah shook his head, flexing his arm, trying to reduce the pain.At that moment, Blackie had also approached them and was still standing in front of the group, blaring its fangs at the Flood dragon fearlessly."What do we do about this beast?" Natasha broke the silence, her eyes darting around."We can't possibly run. We can

But just as he was about to brandish it again, a huge figure had already descended before him.Opening its large mouth, the flood dragon bit down, intending to swallow Elijah at once.Blackie, by Elijah's side, howled, seeing its master was about to get eaten, and thus rushed forward. The flood dragon's tail also moved, slapping blackie away with a powerful force.Dust and gravel kicked up into the sky as Blackie hit the floor, unable to control the force which sent it flying. As this happened, it also gave Elijah some time to react to the largemouth, though everything happened in an instant. Moving to the side to avoid the largemouth, the tail of the flood dragon, which had just slapped away Blackie, moved towards Elijah."Shit!"Elijah cursed quickly, dispelling the spell, and crosse

More shot toward the beast. With the continuous barrage of the spell, the beast was finally wounded and fell onto the floor."This should be the second level of your spell right?" Alex walked over at the moment, glanced at Fang Yuan, then at the dead beast lying on the floor."Yes," Fang Yuan nodded.Over the last week, he and Elijah had improved tremendously. Under Alex's guidance, they finally knew how to supply mana to their spells and also how to control their spells and manipulate their mana. Also, Alex kept to his words, they changed the route they were supposed to take, thus taking a longer time. But that didn't mean they were idle.
