Mystic Realm

"How dare he come back today after what happened yesterday!"

"If I were the one, I would commit suicide for awakening such a useless ability!"

"If I was his sister, I'd kick him out of the house, he's a disgrace to her talent!"

Voices drifted into Elijah's as he walked into the school, the students all around whispering to themselves as they looked at him in disgust.

But then Elijah couldn't care less about them, he was feeling very gleeful in his heart. This morning, he discovered that the space in his mana core had increased a little, and as a result, he was able to create three clones.

Though none of the clones lasted more than an hour before they dispersed, the improvement they fed back to his body was great. His understanding of the fireball spell had also increased.

All he needed was some practice, and he would be able to raise the level of proficiency and also step into the next level of the fireball spell.

"Everyone listen up!" A loud voice came just as Elijah sat on his seat when he walked into the class.

"As you all know, all newly awakened students must go to the mystical realm to have a glimpse of the real world," Mr. Ethan, the teacher, said as he looked at the students with a sense of satisfaction.

But then immediately his eyes landed on Elijah, he frowned and then looked away. Just this morning, the principal had called him and warned him to let Elijah be.

Knowing well that it was Elijah's sister who was behind all this, he felt even more dissatisfaction for Elijah. But then he wouldn't want to offend a genius just because of trash as a result he ignored Elijah who appeared to have zoned out.

"You'll be spending five days inside the mystic Realm. Don't hesitate to crush the badge with you once you encounter any danger." Ethan continued as he lectured the students about the mystic Realm.

Elijah on the other hand yawned as he felt bored. All these talks felt boring to him and he couldn't help but wish that the teacher was going to end it soon.

"Follow me." Ethan's voice came after what felt like an eternity to Elijah.

Elijah immediately sprang up from his seat and walked out of the class alongside other students who were discussing and whispering to themselves in excitement.

Soon, they met up with students from other classes, each set of students was led by their teachers and there was a lot of chattering all around.

"Silence!"

A loud voice suddenly boomed sending shivers down the spine of everyone and the next moment, a figure appeared out of thin air shocking the students.

"Who's that!" A student whispered to his friend.

"Don't you know him?" The other student rolled his eyes as he replied.

"That's the vice-principal. He's a level 6 space mage and he's very powerful."

The other students also whispered to themselves as they looked at the figure, an old man with white hair who had appeared out of nowhere.

"I'm sure your teachers have explained everything to you." The vice-principal called out as he looked at the students.

"I'll repeat, don't hesitate to crush the badge with you once you're in danger." The vice principal continued as he looked at the students.

"The school won't be responsible for anything that happens to you if you refuse to crush the badge."

The students all nodded, none of them wanted to die, their lives were more important. They would directly crush the badge once they encountered a danger they couldn't handle.

"Now that's it, you should all get going." The vice principal said and made a slashing movement with his hands in the air.

The students watched in amazement as the spot where the vice principal had made a slashing gesture tore open and was becoming wider as though an invisible hand was increasing the space.

Soon, the space became wide enough for twenty people to go in. From where the students stood, they couldn't see what was inside, so none of them dared to rush in.

Besides, the vice principal had not given the order for them to go in and they didn't know what was in.

"You may all go in!' The vice principal said, his voice booming throughout the surroundings.

The students rushed into the open crack, immediately they stepped in, they were surrounded by a white light, and in a flash, they disappeared.

Soon, everyone reappeared at a clearing. This place was far different from where they were coming from. The surroundings felt different and they were surrounded by tall trees.

In front of them was a forest. Sometimes, roars could be heard coming from the forest sending shivers down the students’ spine.

"You all shouldn't be scared, that's just an eighth-grade winged lion." The vice principal's laugh came.

The students couldn't help but shiver in fear after hearing this, they looked around for the vice-principal but couldn't see him, it was only his voice they could hear.

The winged lion was known for its ferocity, speed, and physical prowess. Also, ordinary spells wouldn't be able to do any harm to it.

Even though it was merely an eighth-grade beast, and that was the strongest it could get, it was also quite formidable in its rank even though it was not in the first twenty.

"Now, you should all go into the forest. After five days, you are all to return here. You can wish not to come back early if you're willing to spend a year in the realm." The vice principal laughed as he continued.

"Also, you'll be rewarded according to the number of beast cores you hunt. The higher the level of the beast core, the better the rewards."

"Deep inside the forest, there's a seventh-grade Thunder Roc, I wouldn't advise you all to intrude in its territory." The vice principal continued.

The Thunder Roc was an aerial beast with a lot of pride and wouldn't allow anything to intrude on its territory. Besides, it had the potential to become a fifth-grade beast. Also, it had a strong defense and attack as it could manipulate the lightning element.

"But the student who's able to bring the beast core of the Thunder Roc beast would receive a Sky jade Fruit as a reward."

"Mind you, the beast core of the Thunder Roc is only suitable for one with Thunder ability, so if the student who brings the beast core of the Thunder Roc is not a Thunder mage, the school will compensate them accordingly in exchange for the core." The vice principal laughed.

"Huh?"

The students gasped in shock hearing what the vice-principal said. At that moment, their eyes flashed with greed as each of them secretly made up their hearts to get the beast core of Thunder Roc.

Besides, apart from the core, the body of the Thunder Roc was extremely useful, even its blood was used in body tempering for warriors. As long as they could kill this beast, they would have struck it rich.

Only the Sky Jade fruit was more of a temptation. Even though it was just a high-level earth-grade herb, it was sufficient to spark the students' greed as the herb was very rare. Besides, it was said to have the mysterious ability of helping to level up.

There were three grades of herbs, which were, Earth, spirit, and Heaven. Each of these was further divided into low, medium, and high level.

"I won't tell you the location of the Thunder Roc, but I must warn you not to mess with it. You can all go into the forest. Also, I suggest you form teams as it wouldn't be too advisable to travel alone." The vice principal continued.

"Wishing you all good luck. You can all proceed." The vice-principal concluded and his voice faded.

A strange silence descended in the place, after a while, the students began to mutter to themselves as they looked around.

Soon, they began to form teams, with each going into the forest right after everything was concluded.

Elijah stood on a spot as he watched everything, none of the students came to him requesting to form a team. The ones who didn't know him were discouraged by the ones who knew him.

In no time, most of the students had left Elijah all alone as they all refused to form a team with him.

Soon, the sun was setting, washing the sky in Yellow. At this point, all the students had gone into the forest in pairs, leaving Elijah all alone.

"Guess I'll have to journey alone since no one wants to partner with me." Elijah shrugged as he stood up from the large stone he was sitting on, cleaning the dust on his clothes as he prepared to walk into the forest.
