CHAPTER 84

The silence in the supply closet was almost unbearable, with only the sound of their breathing filling the small space. Philip’s mind raced as he tried to figure out their next move. They had managed to evade the guards for now, but he knew it was only a matter of time before Lane realized they were missing and increased security.

Jessica’s hand was still trembling in his, and he squeezed it gently, trying to offer some reassurance. But deep down, he knew they were in a tight spot. They needed to get out of the building before Lane’s men closed in on them.

“We need to find another way out,” Philip whispered, leaning close to Jessica so that his voice wouldn’t carry. “We can’t go back the way we came.”
