Chapter 21

"Our methods are unconventional. Do not interfere," the leader of the grey suits said.

They'd insisted that they must blindfold Angela to keep the location of their base a secret. She'd protested and argued but eventually relented seeing Damien's unconscious body. She’d gotten into their van and held onto his hand the whole way there.

Although she couldn't see, she knew when they'd arrived. The van lurched to a halt, sending her sliding all around.

“We're here. Take it off. Get him inside, quick.”

Angela took off the blindfold just in time to see the man taking his unconscious body out of the van.

She followed them down a long hallway that seemed to lead to a dead end but the leader rubbed stone jutting out of the wall and the wall parted, sliding apart like elevator doors.

They all walked in but the man stopped Angela, much to her frustration.

“What now?” she flared.

“This is where you stop. Women and children are not allowed past this point.”
