Chapter 24
Damien was sure he was in there for only a few minutes but by the time he came out, the sun was already rising. He gazed puzzled at the stars.

“Time in the cave is different. Don't let it overwhelm you small mind,” Garth said.

“Something to do with the mystic arts?” he asked. It had to be. Plus the fact that most people in the room, including his grandfather, seemed to vanish into thin air. That was probably just a secret passage. That would be on brand with a secret society.

“Fulfil your tasks and I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually. You are not…” Garth's voice trailed off when he saw Angela walking towards them.

“Are you done with your cult meeting?” she asked.

“It's not a cult,” Garth snapped. This was why they kept their society secret. So shallow minded individuals didn't label them wrongly.

“I wasn't talking to you.” Angela's glare was palpable as she fired back at Garth. The very presence of the brute pissed her off, not to speak of his voice.
