“Hi,” I said into the communicator as I got out of the pod and dialed a number.

“It's good that you called me,” Eve breathed with relief, barely hearing my voice. “I have problems,” I didn’t really doubt it.

“Hope you just got fired from your job and need a referral,” I said.

“If only,” her voice sounded sad. - It's really bad. Can we talk face to face?

- Easily. Where?

The doorbell rang.

“Open the door for me, please,” she asked.

I went to the hallway. She immediately hung around my neck, burying her nose in my shoulder as soon as she entered. I gently held her by the waist, closing the door, and felt that she was trembling all over.

- Are you impatient? I asked, and I felt her smile.

“And you have changed,” she said.

- Better or worse? I asked.

- I do not know. More arrogant.

"Come on," I disagreed. - If I were arrogant, I would hold you not by the waist, but a little lower.

- Not now! she shook her head.
