Not long after Louis said that, a coughing sound was heard, coming from Andrew, who was still unconscious.
Andrew coughed up blood, a sign that his condition was not good, and Brandon was blamed for it all.
"Stella, look at what you've done by blindly trusting someone?!"
Louis hurriedly tried to check Andrew's current condition. He was about to remove the acupuncture needles stuck in Andrew's body.
"Stop, don't remove them. You'll only make his condition worse!" Brandon tried to stop Louis before he messed everything up.
Louis, of course, was angry because Brandon still dared to speak nonsense in this situation. His friend's condition was truly serious, and Brandon was responsible for it all.
"Stop pretending to understand medicine when all you know how to do is worsen someone's condition. And who are you to tell me, Louis Garcia, what I can or cannot do?!"
Brandon glanced at Stella, knowing who Louis was, so he wanted Stella to choose between him and Louis, who hadn't been able to do anything about Andrew's recovery so far.
Stella, understanding the meaning of Brandon's gaze, immediately felt torn. On one side was Louis, the symbol of modern medicine, while on the other side was Brandon, someone her father had said was their only hope before losing consciousness.
"Stella, it's better if you ask this kid to leave and stop bothering me. Do you really want to see your father die because of this know-it-all kid?!" Louis felt disturbed and couldn't properly administer treatment as long as Brandon was there.
Stella bit her lower lip, and after a while, she said, "Uncle Louis, stop doing anything you want to my father. Let Mr. Brandon do it; he's much better than you."
Louis Garcia stared at Stella in disbelief, not understanding why Stella chose to trust a vague kid like Brandon over a doctor whose skills had been proven like his.
"Stella, are you out of your mind? What's your reason for trusting him so much? Have you been hypnotized or something?"
Stella glared at Louis angrily, her father's life was at stake, so there was no time to argue like this.
"Uncle Louis, let me ask you one thing, can you cure my father?"
Louis Garcia couldn't answer. Andrew had been under treatment for several days, and he and the doctors in his hospital couldn't do much for Andrew's recovery.
"No, right?" Stella said confidently, with a determined look in her eyes. She had truly made her decision, "Then stop bothering Mr. Brandon; he's the only hope for my father to recover!"
Louis's self-esteem was immediately shaken by that. After decades of being a doctor, this was the first time Louis had received the assumption that he was no better than someone who wasn't even a doctor.
"Fine if that's what you want, don't beg or cry in front of me if something happens to your father!" Louis said because his pride was hurt.
After saying that, Louis immediately handed his small box of acupuncture needles to Brandon. Louis wanted to see what Brandon could do, to the point where Stella dared to shout at him like she just did.
Brandon gladly accepted Louis's goodwill to let him heal Andrew because if Andrew was left any longer, he could lose his life at any moment.
Brandon then continued his last acupuncture step, which had been delayed, by carefully and perfectly inserting the last needle into Andrew's lower abdominal point.
After Brandon inserted the last needle, Andrew, who had previously coughed up blood, began to calm down. Andrew's coughing started to subside, a sign that Brandon's acupuncture was starting to work.
"Now what?" Louis asked, not satisfied because if just stopping the cough wasn't enough, since Andrew hadn't even coughed before receiving acupuncture from Brandon, and his condition was even better than now.
Brandon ignored Louis's words, focusing more on observing Andrew's condition after receiving acupuncture from him.
"You scoundrel, are you trying to ignore me? What do you think, you can do whatever you want as long as you make yourself happy?" Brandon returned his focus to his acupuncture.
Louis suddenly felt even angrier, "Of course, I have to say something. Do you think I'll stay silent after you dare to deceive Stella, the daughter of my friend?"
Brandon just remained silent, not responding to Louis's words at all.
"You bastard, just wait until I find out that my friend's condition worsens because of you! You'll be behind bars, you better know that!"
"Teacher, please. Don't disturb him; shouldn't we just wait for the results of his treatment?" Jose tried to calm his teacher.
"You damn student, you're no different! How could you let a stranger like him handle a patient that should be your responsibility? Have you lost your mind?!"
Jose could only smile awkwardly. If Brandon were really that simple, Jose wouldn't let something like this happen. However, Jose had felt Brandon's greatness for himself, so giving Brandon a chance was the only thing he could do.
"Teacher, listen to me. This kid is not ordinary; I've felt his abilities myself."
Louis raised his eyebrows; Jose rarely praised anyone, so he couldn't help but feel curious.
"Is his ability real?"
Jose began to recount the incident when Brandon touched his forehead, causing his headache to disappear instantly.
"Nonsense! Do you think touching someone's forehead is a treatment? You've clearly been fooled by him, you should feel ashamed for still being fooled when I, Louis Garcia, am your teacher!" Louis scolded.
In the end, Jose chose to remain silent because he also didn't know whether Brandon's ability was real or just a coincidence.
When Louis wanted to speak further to scold his student, something unexpected happened regarding Andrew.
Andrew, who had initially been unconscious with closed eyes, suddenly started convulsing.
"Look at what you've done, you damn—"
Louis was about to explode when he was forced to shut up. Andrew, who had been convulsing, suddenly calmed down again. At the same time, a dark fluid with a pungent smell started oozing out of Andrew's pores.
What happened then brought astonishment to everyone, especially to Louis. This was truly unfamiliar to him, even though he was an expert in modern medicine with decades of experience.
Louis didn't consider what happened to Andrew as a good thing, making him want to interrogate Brandon about the incident. When Louis was about to press Brandon to answer his questions, Andrew suddenly opened his eyes.
"Father, you're finally awake."Stella Robinson immediately hugged Andrew tightly, expressing immense relief at seeing her father finally awake from a coma.Jose and Louis looked on, immediately frozen in their positions. Both were doctors whose skills had been proven. They both clearly refused to believe that Brandon, whom they didn't know, had managed to heal Andrew from an illness they themselves didn't even know what it was."It doesn't make sense!"Louis immediately tried to ask Andrew directly what had happened, wanting to know what had caused Andrew to fall ill and whether acupuncture, performed by Brandon, was indeed the reason for his recovery."Andrew, what made you sick? Why couldn't I cure your illness, but this kid somehow could?" Andrew remained silent as Louis spoke, seemingly wanting to answer but finding his mouth stiff and unable to utter a single word.In his silence, Andrew also began to notice Brandon's presence. His eyes softened, enough to convey his gratitude
After agreeing to attend the Allureville doctor's conference, Brandon was instructed to get ready, while Louis went ahead because his hospital was hosting the conference this year, so there were many preparations to be made by him."Mr. Brandon, I'm sorry I can't accompany you; I still want to be with my father."Stella Robinson felt bad, but what else could she do because Andrew's condition, although improved, still required her to accompany him.Brandon glanced at Andrew, the middle-aged man now peacefully asleep after receiving acupuncture from him."No need to worry about it; I'll just go briefly before returning here to help your father recover," Brandon said.Afterwards, Brandon was escorted by Jose, who had been instructed to accompany him, to the conference room in one of the hospital's buildings.Upon arriving there, Brandon could see that the room was filled with many renowned doctors, and there were also several faces Brandon recognized because some of them often appeared o
A young doctor about the same age as Jose stood up from his seat, his arrogant demeanor reminding Brandon of when he first met Jose."Who is he?""He's Kevin. Mr. Brandon, you'd better not pay attention to him because he's just all talk and has no ability whatsoever," Jose tried to explain.Brandon instantly felt familiar with the name Jose just mentioned. If Brandon remembered correctly, Kevin was another young doctor often compared to Jose in terms of genius."Isn't he your rival?"Jose shook his head vigorously, "That idiot, how can he be compared to me? He's nothing in front of me; how dare he act arrogantly in front of you."Brandon nodded in understanding. Although from Jose's explanation, Kevin didn't seem that talented in the medical field, Brandon had to admit his skill in other aspects."He must be a troublemaker, right?""Uh... I don't understand what you just said." Jose grimaced, trying to hold back laughter.Brandon smiled thinly; he said that for a reason. To be honest,
"What other commotion is this kid planning to bring down Mr. Brandon?" muttered Jose, feeling uncomfortable with the smile Kevin was showing.Jose, still feeling guilty for underestimating Brandon earlier, wanted to prove himself by protecting Brandon's honor and dignity in front of everyone there."Kevin, there's no need to ask my mentor. You can ask me; it's more than enough just to satisfy your curiosity.""Oh, really? In that case, as you wish, I just want to ask about..."Kevin asked in front of everyone why none of Brandon's words matched the medical books, which made many people there start to realize that what Kevin had just said was the truth."Damn, I just remembered that there seems to be nothing like that in our medical books.""After thinking about it, why do I start to feel like what the kid named Brandon said is just random nonsense to deceive us?"Kevin grinned widely as many people there began to realize and turn to support him, a smirk forming again as he prepared to
"How dare he accept Dr. Kevin's challenge.""Foolish people are like that. They will keep trying to deceive, no matter if they are laughed at."Brandon heard all the jeers directed at him. The doctors mocking and doubting his abilities walked behind Louis, Jose, and Brandon. They chose a renowned hospital. Moreover, Kevin deliberately requested it so he could observe Brandon closely. Additionally, the patients at the hospital they visited were also full of patients with illnesses beyond reason."Are you sure, Mr. Brandon?" Louis Garcia confirmed. His eyes glancing around, a sign he was uneasy—made Brandon just nod. His steps were already very certain, as if Brandon was confident that he would succeed in proving his expertise."Arrogant doctors like them are not enough to just be given theory. Perhaps, the ignorance that has been confined for so long can be satisfied if they see me in practice," Brandon mumbled.Louis Garcia wiped his face, and ahead was a ward where one of the patient
"Today has been quite tiring," said Brandon as he kept walking away from the hospital.Brandon stopped a taxi, having forgotten his car which was probably still in the parking lot of Turner Group's company. Recalling this, Brandon also remembered the incident of breaking off his engagement with Ariana. Brandon sighed, quickly got into the taxi, and tried to forget some of the events of today. When he arrived home with a sullen face, Brandon was greeted by his Mother. The elderly woman, who was already sitting in the living room, immediately stood up facing her son."Brandon, I don't want to beat around the bush. I've heard about the broken engagement."Brandon was startled to hear his Mother's admission. After all, the letter he had received was only a few hours ago. He had even just returned from the Hospital to meet Ariana. His intention to keep the bad news quiet had now been revealed without Brandon mentioning it.He was still trying to deny it. Brandon thought his Mother would be
Brandon stared wistfully at his Mother. The accusation made him unable to breathe freely. Moreover, Brandon was forced to admit something he had never done.He really wanted to bring Ariana to meet his Mother. However, to take a single step out of that house, Brandon kept hearing his Mother's unceasing words blaming him."I have to meet Ariana, Mom. I will meet her and ask Ariana to explain everything," Brandon spoke with a trembling voice. "I will bring her here, and she will admit that all her words were nonsense."However, Brandon's Mother still insisted that her son was lying in this matter. Maybe at her grandfather's grave, she saw Ariana act so well that she made her believe."Why would you meet her again? Aren't you shameless, Brandon? You've already been unfaithful but still dare to show your face in front of her! Just admit your lie." His mother kept pressing."Mom, Ariana twisted the facts. She's the one who broke off this engagement. How else can I prove it?"His mother imm
After his agreement with Stella, Brandon is now standing in front of the luxurious house belonging to Stella's friend's father. However, his steps stopped when he saw the house filled with a crowd."Did I get the wrong address?" Brandon tried to verify the address given by Stella. The address matched the address he was holding currently, but why was there a crowd there? With hesitation, Brandon took steps forward. A security guard greeted Brandon warmly while slightly bowing his body.Brandon nodded, he kept walking in. Witnessing the scene before him. Soft music played as background as the guests mingled and sipped champagne. It was clear that the luxurious house was holding a party. In one corner of the room stood a small stage surrounded by tables and chairs neatly arranged for the evening's entertainment.Brandon could only stand frozen in his place, observing the rich people who were busy talking to one another. As Brandon looked around to find Stella's presence, suddenly a wom
