7. Red hound

Roger cat walked gallantly across the stone tiled pavement of the street, there were lots of tall houses or special buildings around as well as the local bar, inns and tavern also visible. The surrounding was noisy with the singing and chirping of strange birds, crying of off-spring or cheering and shouting from the beautified taverns or hotels along the way.

The surrounding had a scent of various kinds of fragrance from sideways flowers, ales, and others unknown to him. The hoofing of large furry creatures which helped in rolling the wheels of chariots or carriages of nobles, warriors or peasants also sounded across the street. Moreover, the street was were also visible of various posters holding information about sales, wanted criminal or nudist.

After about an hour, Roger finally reached a large area of land which was cleared neatly, leaving its bright short green grass in absence of its rough hedges, bushes, thorns or even building. In front of the land was a short wooden and well-furnished fence which vividly marked the boundary between other lands.

Roger walked to the front side of the fence where a small shade stood having a small bench and a man being around his forties who sat there motionless

“I have the gold you asked for the land.” Roger said casually to the man who instantly opened his eyes and jumped off the bench

“Oh, really.” The man’s loud and agile voice answered within mediate

“Yes, the complete hundred gold coin.” Roger dragged the bag of coin from his pocket and handed it over to the man who seized it with ease “The remaining gold coin are for the other building wood and concrete bricks I asked for.”

“Thank you so much Roger,” The man replied with a smile, his eyes fell unto the bag of coin on his hand which he began to throw unto the air while catching it in accordance

“The material will be here in ten days.” The man answered while Roger nodded and began to walk away.

Daniel and Stella stood in the center of the road without any idea of where they are. Large crowd of elves scattered in the streets while some other hurried into various tall buildings or houses.

This current position was so much different from their first scene after escaping from slavery, this was much more lively causing a feeling of freedom and happiness to run through their spine.

Roar!

A loud grunt roared in front of them and they instantly ran out of the way to the tiled pavement along the street. They stared in shock at the large furry beast pushing a large green carriage. The beast stopped pushing immediately after reaching behind them, and the metal door of the carriage opened widely and a man stepped.

“Be careful next time alright, because I’m not going to pay and amount of money as a gratitude to your relatives if my beast use you as street food.” The man who wore a pair of fitting black trouser and sleeve shirt adorned with a golden robe warned with a loud voice, his long pointy ears were exposed to view since his green hair were too short to cover it, he wore a pair of bright glasses fitting his full beard and shaved moustache.

He jumped back into his carriage without another word and rode off. Daniel and Stella sat on the ground confused about the man action, why did he have to be rude when he was supposed to apologize for almost crushing two people.

Daniel and Stella jumped back to their feet and began to wander around. As for Daniel, he was grieving quietly to staying in slavery for too long instead of enjoying the sweetness of the outside world, he even got more dramatic after sighting a tavern which people streamed in and out. The tavern had always been his first friend right from when he was still a human, it served as the only thing that calmed him down during hard times with the help of multi activities and ales that worked like magic which currently is now possible.

“Wipe those baby tears Daniel, we have to find a place to create a guild.” Stella jerked him out of his busy admiration, he instantly wiped the prickle of tears which were going to fall off his eyes and nodded.

“Yes, that’s right we need to ask questions.” Daniel went over to a man who walked along the street and stopped him

“Please, where can I create a guild.”

The man eyed Daniel and sighed, Daniel was looking dirty and thatched over to the extent of him looking like a beggar which made to man curious about how he was going to create a guild as it seems

“The guild Hall?”

“Please, do you have any idea where it is located.”

“Opposite the crimson mountain, over there.” The man pointed to a green mountain which looked faraway “But hope you do not have any idea of walking there, it’s more than 400km so you will break a leg if you try to do so.”

The man walked away immediately, Daniel rushed over to Stella who had been watching and explained the location to her. Stella instantly got devastated knowing fully well that it was impossible to trek and also impossible to boarder a carriage since there weren’t any money available.

“Heaven’s flame,” A loud grunt erupted from Stella to bent her head in shame “This is what frustration really feels like.”

“I think we’ll eventually find some way to get there.” Daniel waved his hand to a man who was riding on the furry creature. The man stopped his chariot in front of them and jumped down from the back of the creature

“What is the matter eah,” The man’s pirate-like voice echoed in the street contributing greatly to the noise around “You two look like you want a ride, two gold coin for any location.”

“You are right about wanting a ride but emm, we don’t have any coin.” Daniel voice suddenly got broken and blur, he was afraid of what reply he was going to get from the man whose brows were already furrowed

“Hump, where exactly are you heading to.”

“The crimson mountain, opposite the guild Hall.”

“Ohh, okay hop in.” The man instantly smiled inviting Daniel and Stella into the carriage “Anyways just know that to see a nice driver like me is rare, don’t try doing what you did right now to others, else… you don’t want to experience it.”

Daniel nodded while Stella carried a wide smile on her face since you wasn’t expecting any form of help from anyone.

“Thank you.”

They both entered into the carriage while the man climbed unto the back of his furry horse and continued on his journey.

After about an hour, the carriage finally stopped. Daniel and Stella moved lazily out of it since they had a good rest in it.

Stepping out of the carriage, their eyes first greeted the large and wide staircase of the guild Hall which laid upon the forefront of the fresh grassy mountain making them to fall into a coma of infinite amazement

“Good – bye.” The voice of the driver man shook them off the state and they waved him goodbye as he turned back to the distant village.

Daniel and Stella turned to the scenery of the guild Hall and began to climb up with the concrete staircase. The air smelt of fresh flowers which mixed with a matter of decayed odor making it smell almost unpleasant, but the scene defined a total difference, small colorful butterflies perched on the beautiful flower across the mountain ground, or even a various sprinkle of adornment around every part of the stairs giving it a peasantry of heaven.

After getting to the top of the stair, they met a wide opened door which exposed crowd of well dressed elves and few other races which wandered around. In front of the door stood a tall muscular man, vividly the guard whose lips curled in confusion upon seeing Daniel and Stella

“This aren’t a territory for slaves or beggars alright, return to where you are coming from.” The guard gave a straightforward statement to Daniel and Stella as they weren’t looking well-dressed or good looking

“Oh no, we aren’t slaves or beggars, we just came here to create a guild.” Stella retorted with her brows furrowed, she looked down at herself to examine the baggy brown trouser and shirt she wore. Though large spot of dirt marks coted the cloth but it was scarce of tears or starches.

“Ehh.” The guard exclaimed with shock, he tilted his head from her to Daniel with a jaw-drop “You… You two want to create a guild.”

“Yes.”

The man sighed and shifted to the opposite side giving way for Daniel and Stella who dashed in instantly. Getting into the hall, Daniel and Stella stared around and rushed towards a counter desk which settled at the fore end of the ground floor.

“Hello, registering to create a guild.” Daniel said to the lady with a smile. She was wearing a pair of glasses with a long red gown, her auburn hair was packed in a twin-tail exposing her long ears.

“Really.” She muttered staring confusingly at both Daniel and Stella “Okay, ten gold coin for registration and uniforms.”

Daniel brows raised upon hearing the required amount of money from the lady, he did not even have a bronze coin let alone of ten gold and this left his depressed

Claudius, how do you expect me to create a guild without money

[Easy, just tell her about your condition]

“Emm, we currently do not have any cash with us. Is credit accepted.”

“Okay, ten gold coin will be deducted from your first guild quest.” The lady scoffed nodding her head, she picked a pen from the desk and began to write on a sheet of paper “Please, your names, race and age.”

“Daniel Coleman and Stella Croft, both half-elves and nineteen years old.”

The lady jotted down the words of Daniel on the paper and turned toward them with a frown

“And, where are your other two. Everyone including the commoners know that a guild requires a minimum number of four participants, where are the others.”

“Oh, we are just two for now.”

“Okay, choose your uniform but please know that you won’t be getting the chosen uniform until your guild is complete.” The lady offered to them a large book which contained variety of different pictures of costumes. Daniel instantly grabbed it and began to flip across the pages, all the attires there were beautiful and perfect but most of them were marked taken only leaving few of the other costumes which weren’t as good looking as the others. After some time, Daniel finally settled on a green tiger stripes amour with the consent of Stella who instantly fell in love with it.

They showed it to the lady who nodded and marked it as taken with the pen

“The name of your guild,” She murmured staring dagger at them, she heaved a loud sigh while staring at them as they stared at each other silently “Stupid, like I was going to choose a guild name randomly for you two.”

Instantly Daniel heard a thin voice in his head which he recognized easily as Stella’s

[Hey, what about ‘Red hound’]

[Okay, sound perfect.]

Daniel turned to the lady and nod ded with a smile

“Red hound, that’s the name of our guild.”
