Chapter 7. It's your destiny....

Now Gabriel was back in Mayca. He had returned to the house Mueller to take refuge since they were the only ones who seemed nice to him.

As he knocked on the door, Abby came to answer the knock.

"Oh! It is you again? You are back?" Abby was shocked at seeing.

"Can I come in?" Gabriel was in panic as he turned his next around to make sure no one was spying on him.

Abby noticed his strange attitude and he kind of made her scared. "What is the matter?" She was still standing between the entrance.

"Am I no longer welcome as you told me?"

"Sure… sure… come in." She gave way and he walked into the house. Then Abby took around the surroundings, checking for something suspicious and she couldn't spot any. So she shut the door.

"You must be tasty? Let me get you some water to drink."

"Where is your grandfather?" Gabriel asked as she headed for the kitchen door.

"He is at the back as always."

It was morning and Mueller had gone outside to receive the morning breeze as he would always do.

Gabriel was more than tired, he had been running all night. He never wanted to be caught by Kevin. Gabriel would have just left the country since he noticed the rate at which his life was at stake. But his mission there has not been completed. So he chose to keep running and hiding until he had killed the leaders of the armies of Ceevah and Gilroy. Who he believed were the ones that gave the order to kill his father.

In the past few days he had been in three cities of the country and it turned out that he was being hurted in two cities which were the cities he vowed to take his revenge on.

Although he did not stay long in Mayca, that was the city he felt safe at. Gabriel did not bother going over to Cyb because he knew that the soldiers there would also seek his life because they were the last group that came to Gytle in search of him. Since they came late and did not have anything to do with the death of his father, he just kept his mind far from them.

His plan of coming back to Mueller's home was to stay for a very short time while he cooked up a perfect plan for his revenge.

As Abby came back with a jar of water for Gabriel, she found him dozing off on the chair which he sat on. She had only spent a very few minutes, yet he's already fallen asleep.

For him to have slept off so soon, she knew that he really needed that rest, so she didn't bother to disturb him but left the water on a stool.

Abby then went out to the back of the house where old Mueller was resting on his seat watching nature.

"Pa, he is back."

Mueller looked at her confused as he did not get the meaning of what she said.

She too read the face of her grandfather and knew exactly what he wanted, so she rephrased her sentence. "Prince Gabriel is back. Is he fast asleep inside."

"You must be kidding?!"

"I'm serious."

Seeing her seriousness he got up and followed inside to confirm what she had told him.

Mueller was shocked when he entered the house and found Gabriel sleeping just as Abby had told him. He looked at her with a strange look and then back at the sleeping young man.

"There must be something very serious that has brought him back. Let him rest as long as he wants. When he is awake, we shall find out what it is that has brought him back."

"Shouldn't we call Byron and tell him that the prince is here?" Abby asked his grandfather.

"No. Not now. Maybe after hearing his reason for coming back, then you shall go and call the general."

Gabriel slept for a very long time. He ceased the little opportunity to get as much rest as his body needed. He spent roughly either hours in his sleep and when he woke up, he was breathing heavily and looking frustrated.

His looks told that he did not have a good sleep. There was every sign telling that he had an awful dream while sleeping.

As his eyes were opened and saw the water still on the stool presented before him. He drank the water like one who had just returned from the desert. As he drank, a good quantity of the water was wasted on his body as they poured from his mouth while he drank.

As the jar was brought down from his mouth, he saw Abby staring at him. She entered the moment he took up the jar. From the manner in which he drank the water, she could tell that he needed something to eat so she prepared him a meal.

After he had eaten the food, he said to Mueller who was there with him at this point. "How can I repay you for all your kindness?"

"It's simple."

"How?!" Gabriel was not expecting such a response.

"Take your place in Tadeas and rule your people."

"Please sir, with all due respect, I won't want us to go into that conversation now."

"You were born to be king. It's your destiny to rule Tadeas. Your people need you. They need a leader to unite them once again and end this war."

"I'm very sorry but I can't rule the people that killed my father. They will just do the same to me. So it's a no."

"I understand you son. But there are still those that will protect and serve you at all cost."

"You are the only one I have seen."

"You may be right, but there are many more like me. And even better than I am."

"Can we end this discussion for now? Please…"

"There's no problem… Just think about what I have told you." Mueller said and then left Gabriel to think over his words.

Well, Gabriel did not even consider any of the things Mueller said a bit. He had the words of his father to obey even though he had gone against part of them. He still held on to the part that tells him not to trust anyone from Tadeas. But the thing is, was he truly obeying that word because he had built trust in Mueller and Abby that was why he was back at their home.

As Mueller was alone after speaking with Gabriel. Abby came to him. She did not say a word but he already knew why she was there. Her face had told him why she was there.

"Fine. I think it's time you run along." Mueller said. And Abby understood his statement. She had been expecting to say that, so now that he had finally said the word, she was delighted to act accordingly. Thus, she left his presence and ran off from the environment.
