Chapter 3-Array

It was a tranquil night, and the moonlight shone brightly. Inside a hospital, in a corridor, a man walked slowly; he was Bao, and after gaining enough energy, he was able to move properly.

At midnight, as he was gathering energy, he began to hear cries. So he was curious and went in that way, but as he got closer, he heard more cries.

Soon after reaching the source of the cries, which was somewhere near the basement, he was surprised for a moment and displeased with what he saw.

There he saw an array, and in the heart of that array was an old porcelain that was gathering surrounding spirit, and because soul and spirit are in some ways connected, surrounding mindless Soul were also being gathered.

Souls are separated into several grades, and humans living in this isolated world did not possess the complete mortal soul, thus calling them souls would be improper.

It was known as the pre-mortal soul, which is lower to the mortal soul above that was Spiritual sense and Battle soul.

There are more powerful souls; those with strong soul power can easily defeat someone with poor soul power in battle.

In the immortal world, few people pursued soul cultivation or soul-related skills because it took time and there was no guarantee of success; instead, they would prefer using some treasure to defend their soul.

That array was a gathering and entrapment type of array for dead mindless souls, and it had been here for many years; it was old and on the verge of breaking.

This was one of the largest hospitals in the country, thus patients from all over the country came for treatment, and some died during the process.

If a being with a transcendence soul power died in the immortal realm, that being could reincarnate with his memories intact if they desired to, but the dead mortal would be taken to the spirit world and reborn without their knowledge.

However, this was a different isolated world with no door to heaven or hell. So pre-mortal souls could only exist as mindless entities until the world takes them in.

Although it could hardly be called an array, this may be regarded the lowest grade of array in the immortal world. He was taken aback because laying a formation required materials as well as understanding of arrays and formations.

Although this array construction can not hurt living beings, it nevertheless generates yin energy, and exposure to yin energy could affect Ying Yue in the long run, which displeased him.

This was an isolated world with limited energy and no cultivation knowledge, yet there was someone who could lay a formation.

He considered two possibilities,

There may still be ancient lineages who knew about cultivation and other sorcery.

Or, like him, someone may have been reincarnated in this isolated world, and in order to reach a higher realm more quickly, that person formed a spirit gathering array.

[The person who laid this array could not have been an unknown person, Yue might know something]

[I will know about that person when he comes to check his harvest]

He easily destroyed that array; removing a minor array is simple; all you have to do is erase the engravings in the walls and floors, as contrary to the greater array, which is complicated...

After erasing the array, Bao picked the porcelain in the center of the array.

It was full of spiritual energy, which would undoubtedly aid him in laying a foundation; porcelain, like a cultivator's core, could contain spirit energy, but it was old and had been used many times.

He left the area after picking up the porcelain and proceeded to his room.

Although robbing someone else's work and effort was unethical, this only applied to mortals; once you begin cultivating and walk on the path of immortality, you must overcome numerous hurdles, and sometimes this cannot be done without killing each other for treasures and lucky chances.

He knew what needed to be done and what was ahead of him as someone who was once heralded as the supreme being.

So when he took someone else's work, he didn't hesitate. Lastly, that individual dared to place an array beneath the hospital where she works, which may have harmed her, and that offense could not be forgiven.

He began the energy refinement process as soon as he arrived in his room; with that much energy in porcelain, he could have easily broken through to the foundation establishment level, but he wasn't in a rush and wanted to refine those energies into a more pure form with no foul matter in it.

He intended to build a strong foundation out of pure energy, but it was 3 a.m. and his body was fatigued, so he went to sleep after refining half of the energy in that porcelain.

Despite the fact that the cultivator did not feel hungry or sleepy, he was still not at a level where he could ignore humanly desires.
