Chapter 8- Pagoda

While talking Bao and Yue stayed on the roof for a while, it was almost spring, when a sharp breeze passed by, they grew cold and went inside the mansion.

"How is the discussion with the other party going, Yue'er? Was the orphanage saved?"

They had been trying to solve this problem for over a week and had even sought assistance from Lu Feng.

"No, it isn't solved yet," Yue said, "but father said it should be resolved in the next two to three days."

It was difficult to keep the conversation on track because the other side was backed by someone powerful.

"Oh, hold on a second, here's your phone. I've added my contact, as well as my father's, mother's, and our driver's, so you won't have to wait for a taxi next time"

After that, they both walked to their rooms, and Bao sat in a meditative posture to check his core formation process, as he had formed a quasi core when he constructed his foundation. Although accumulating energy without needing to meditate sounds great, those in the upper cultivation Stages choose to meditate because their energy capacity exceeds the self absorbing rate by many times.

Bao remembered Yue's earlier question,

[Is the God the Creator of All Things?] Not simply metaphysical concepts, but also celestial bodies, spiritual energies, and realms. He couldn't give her a decent response since he didn't know the answer himself. When Bao was in the immortal world, he read many myths and ancient scrolls, and there are many creation myths and stories in Prithvi as well.

He can't believe in all of them,

He didn't know the truth

He didn't know the lies,

He didn't know the beginning

He didn't know the end.

The path ahead of him seemed to go on forever, and he had no idea where he was heading. All he could do was keep walking forward without looking back, like he had done in the other world to achieve his goal and desire to return here.

It was midnight when Bao stopped meditating and went to sleep.

The next morning, at the back of the mansion, Bao was meditating under an old Bo tree when Lu Feng arrived and sat next him. Because it is considered disrespectful to disturb someone's meditation for a martial artist, old Feng remained silent while waiting for Bao to open his eyes.

Bao finally opened his eyes after a while.

"What's the problem? It must be something important, that you waited so long." Bao said

"Young warrior, you must be bored staying inside the mansion all the time," old Feng said, "so I'll take you somewhere interesting."

"I have no desire to go on a date with a man, and don't refer to me as a young warrior; call me by my name,"

"Fine, then I'll call you by your name, and you can call me whatever you like," old Feng said to Bao.

"What kind of place is that?"

"That place has everything a martial artist needs, you will know once you go there," old Feng informed Bao.

"All right, then, I'll join you,"

Later that afternoon, Bao and Lu Feng went to the location that old Feng recommended; old Feng informed old Luo that he wanted to view some sites and invited Bao as a guide; Yue went to the office; Lu Mei followed her; Chen Luo and Sumi were going to see the orphanage.

Finally, Bao arrived at the location mentioned by Lu Feng; it was on a higher ground level than others but not in a hilly area; it was a large plot of land with a large five-story pagoda in the center, surrounded by small shops selling inexpensive and common herbs seen anywhere. Bao and old Feng took a stroll before coming to a halt.

"There's nothing unique here, old Feng," Bao explained, "and all those herbs are useless to me."

"Well, these are just for show; the real treasures are inside the pagoda," old Feng explained.

"What is the name of this pagoda?"

"This is a clear sky pagoda," old Feng explained. "They have branches all across the world and in every city."

"Are you familiar with the founder of clear sky pagoda?"

"Unfortunately, no one has ever seen or seen the founder of the clear sky pagoda; the founder is a mystery figure," old Feng responded.

Nobody stopped them when they entered the pagoda; there were many individuals on the first story, all of whom were from wealthy families; most of the herbs on the first floor were mid-high grade but still common herbs, not spiritual herbs; and there were swords, sabers, paintings, and other items. They might be utilized as a family heritage or as a rich person's ornament. The Bo tree at the back of the mansion accumulates several times more energy than these mid-grade common herbs, and Bao was not interested in any of them.

"These common grade medicines and riches don't interest me," Bao said old Feng, "so let's move to the second floor."

"OK, then let's go," old Feng remarked. "If you have any questions, you may ask me because I am a frequent visitor to clear sky pagoda."

"Why are there no security guards at the gate? And why is it that anyone can enter the pagoda?"

"Well, clear sky is one of the most powerful organizations in the worldwide," old Feng said, "so no one would try to do something dumb." "Everyone is permitted to enter the first level, but they must at least buy one item before leaving or they would be banned forever."

[hmm... one of the most powerful organizations]

"Do you have any idea where all those herbs come from, and what their objective is in spreading their branches all across the world?" Bao asked

"They once claimed to have a private herb garden, even showing images of the garden but not revealing the actual location, as for their intentions, I'm not sure," old Feng said.

They spoke their way to the second floor of the clear sky pagoda.
