Chapter 7- Grand wedding?

After old Feng and Lu Mei entered the mansion, Bao meditated for a time under the old tree, and Yue returned from her work later that evening. She was surprised to meet Lu mei and began chatting with her.

"Big sister Yue," lu mei said, hugging Yue.

"Little Mei, when did you come? Shouldn't you have told me?" Yue asked while patting her on the head gently.

"I wanted to surprise big sister yue. That's why I told them not to tell sister " little mei responded

Bao went inside the mansion, he knew that meditating under the tree at night was not a smart idea. When lu mei saw him approaching, she grabbed Yue's hands and hid behind her; seeing her terrified, he could only laugh uncomfortably.

"Have you two already met, little mei?" Yue asked

"Yes," she said softly.

"Did you bully little mei?"

"No, I think she's just afraid I'll take her big sister for myself,"

She didn't understand what he meant at first. She blushed red after a split second. They then went to the living room, where her parents and Lu Mei's father were conversing. Old Feng was greeted by Ying Yue.

"Hello uncle Feng," Yue added. "It's good to see you and little Mei doing well."

Yue met old Feng during his 45th birthday celebration when she was ten years old, and because old Feng was a good friend with old luo, his family was also invited.

"I've been doing well, old Luo, your daughter has grown up quickly since I first met her when she was just ten years old," old Feng said.

"It's just that our bones are aging faster," old Luo said then, They both started laughing.

"How did you get such a good son-in-law, old Luo, were you a saint in a previous life?" old Feng joked with old Luo.

"If our daughter is happy with him, we have no say; when we adopted her, we promised her they would grow up together," remarked old Luo.

Despite the fact that Yue and Bao were not legally engaged, they were meant to marry. Bao was Yue's fiancé, in other words.

"What did you mean when you said you promised her?" Asked old Feng.

"Oh, did I forget to mention that Bao and Yue'er were from the same orphanage, and she didn't want to leave him behind, so we made a pact with her," old Luo replied.

When old Feng initially met Bao, he imagined he was training from a hidden great family or a hidden teacher. After learning that Bao came from an orphanage, old Feng was stunned; he couldn't understand how someone without a master or a great lineage could cultivate and reach this level.

"What makes you appear surprised?" old Luo asked old Feng.

"Oh, it's simply that their story moved me," old Feng explained awkwardly.

Nobody in this room knew Bao was a martial artist. Except for Lu Feng and Lu Mei, it was not a good idea to expose one's identify unless another party was also a martial artist, therefore they kept his martial artist status a secret.

Sumi invited everyone for dinner, after finishing dinner two old men went to the roof for beverages while the others went to their rooms. Yue wanted to spend some time with Bao, but little Mei was present, so Bao went to his room.

The next day, Yue's and mei's parents went to settle some business, leaving Yue, mei, and Bao in the mansion. It was a Saturday, and Yue didn't had any important meetings, so she invited Lu Mei and Bao to watch a movie and then to the park. They spent the entire day having fun, and Lu Mei got to know Bao little better.

She noticed that when he was with Yue, his demeanor was always proper; they stayed out till dark and then returned to the mansion. Bao stayed in the mansion for two more days, and after assuring them that he had fully recovered, he wished to return to his lab, where he had worked before to his coma.

Yue didn't stopped and let him go; the driver of the mansion drove him to his destination. Although it was close to the city, it was surrounded by forests and free of pollution.

The astronomers' association building was large, and he had previously worked here before being reincarnated in another world. He was well respected for several reasons, the first of which was his intelligence, and the second was his connection; he was close to Yue, and they knew Yue's parents, and they had a good relationship, so Bao had no problems working here.

When Bao arrived, he got out of the car and walked towards the gate; he was welcomed by the guard; while entering, he ran into some of his old coworkers; they spoke for a while before returning to their work.

Bao went to meet the office head; after over two years on the job, he had become well-known and familiar with everyone in the association. When Bao entered the office, the office head was addressing some issues with his assistant.

"Hello professor ye."

"How are you feeling?" the office manager asked

"Don't worry professor, I'm OK now after 3 months of relaxation" Bao answered.

"I told you many times to call me uncle ye because it seems more familiar."

"I'll keep it in mind, uncle ye," Bao answered.

"So, when are you and Yue getting married?" He humorously asked of Bao.

Bao gave an awkward smile.

"You might not know, but she was the most nervous when you were in a coma; I feared she'd pull you to the wedding hall straight after you woke up," uncle ye joked.

Bao said nothing because he understood how frightened Yue was after seeing her.

Chen ye, Chen Luo's younger brother, was the head of this astronomical observatory group; he was a kind man who was well-known in the field of astronomy.

"Looks like you were talking about something essential," Bao replied. "I'm going to my observatory lab.

He then proceeded to his observatory lab, which was located to the east of the building.

When he arrived at his lab, there was dust everywhere except for the telescope, which was covered and pointed to the distant sky.

The roof was retractable, so after opening it, he cleaned some of his equipment and the desk where he worked. It was still daylight, so he assisted a colleague with some issues and waited until nightfall.

When nightfall arrived, those on nightshift lingered and observed, and Bao stayed behind as well, wanting to observe something connected to his reincarnation. The night sky was clearing, and stars appeared to be visible. Bao stayed behind to observe the stars as well.

Bao aimed his telescope at a specific star in the sky, aligned the finder, then set the telescope to the lowest magnification, aligned the finder on that star, and finally set the telescope vision to fine focus after some time.

It was about time he found out what that thing was that was brighter than the star itself and most likely caused him to reincarnate in another world. He hesitated to stare into that star since it was the source of his separation from Yue and others, it was the cause of his rebirth, and if the same thing were to happen again, it would be foolish of him repeating the same mistake, so he waited to calm himself.

After some time, he finally got up to witness the cause, slowly peering into the eyepiece of the telescope; what he saw next confused him even more; it was a bright star in the same place, but that thing which was brighter than the star itself was not found; he knew it wasn't his hallucination when he saw bright thing near that star, but he still couldn't think of other possibilities; this entire galaxy was isolated from the outside world, so possibility of other cultivator passing by was low,  Bao shifted his telescope to a different nearby star to see if the source of that bright radiance had shifted position, but after several attempts he was still unable to locate the source of that bright radiance, so he gave up and stopped observing. Before observing the star, he had already asked his colleagues if they had seen any new bright stars, but no one had, the source of that radiance remained a mystery.

It was almost dinner time, and he needed to get back to the mansion, but there was no cab and he didn't have a vehicle; walking from here to the mansion would take an hour; a car pulled up in front of him.

"Get in, my nephew-in-law; I'll drive you to the mansion?" said Chen ye

"Yes, that would be fantastic,"

"Why don't you buy a car? You are not required to wait for a taxi on a daily basis "Chen ye asked.

"Well, I did have a car once," Bao explained, "but an accident happened, and although no one was hurt, the automobile was terribly damaged, and Yue'er wouldn't allow me drive after that."

"She cares for you so much," Chen ye added, "like a wife pestering her husband."

Chen ye was also married, so he knew what it was like to have a wife. They arrived at the mansion while chatting and entered via the main door, where Yue's parents and Lu Feng were chatting when they recognized them. Chen ye was greeted by Yue.

"Hello, brothers Luo and Feng, and sister Sumi," says Luo. Chen ye greeted them.

"Oh, it's my little brother ye," Chen Luo said.

"I'm simply giving my little nephew a ride; I guess I should go now," Chen ye explained.

"It's dinner time," Sumi remarked, "come join us; you can return after dinner."

After finishing their dinner, old Luo and old Feng went to drink, dragging Chen ye along with them. Bao went to the roof and sat while gazing at the sparkling stars, still thinking of that bright radiance. Yue eventually approached him and sat alongside him, leaning on Bao's shoulder and gazing at the stars.

"Don't you think the most beautiful painting you can see is a sky full of stars?" Yue asked Bao

"In my eyes, you are the greatest masterpiece that has ever existed, and these stars would dim in front of your radiance,"

When he was in the immortal world, he already reached and annihilated numerous stars even greater and more powerful than those in the sky; he wasn't being arrogant; it was his pure power and confidence.

"You're still flirting, Do you believe that the God created the entire sky, the stars, and the universe?"

"I'm not sure," Bao answered, shaking his head.

Bao tried to find an answer to that question, but it was beyond of his reach at the moment, and he suspected that even the supreme entity From the God's domain might not be the true creator.

"Don't you think the world is unfair and imperfect, Yue'er? What would you do first if you were to sit on that illusory throne and rule the entire universe?" Bao asked yue

She remained silent for some times, perhaps because the question he asked was too complicated for her.

"If something like that happens, I will hold our grand wedding on the sky, with stars dancing and immortals singing," Yue answered, giggling.

"Ha Ha Ha Ha," Bao laughed after hearing her silly comment.

Bao had expected her to respond with something like world peace or making the world more equitable for everybody, but that was not her response.

"Is that a big wedding I just heard? Before I die, Brother Luo, you must marry them off "said Chen ye

"How could you possibly die before I do? I'm your older brother, and their big wedding is coming up soon "said Chen Luo

"However, brother Luo, have you ever gotten them engaged?" Chen ye enquired.

"Don't worry, they were engaged to be married I adopted her." Chen Luo answered.

"You could have gone to jail for that, brother," Chen ye remarked.

"Don't get close traces," Lu Feng warned them as they came in for another glass.

All three old men were drunk, with Lu Feng being the least because he was a martial master with a high tolerance for alcohol. They had not seen each other in a long time and were enjoying to the fullest...
