The next day passes by, morning came, and Phize goes inside the school. He enters the classroom and sits down on his chair.
He asked himself, "What am I supposed to do right now..."
"It's been so long since I've thought about my purpose..."
He is reminiscent of what Hagah said to him. Her voice echoes through his mind, "...SO ACT ON YOUR MISSION!..."
He looks at the whiteboard Hasha is writing on.
"So, I'm supposed to do what I'm supposed to, eh? Thinking about it, why was I reincarnated? Wasn't it a second chance for me? Or was there another purpose?" he extrapolated.
"Wait..."
"Why am I supposed to fulfill the request of someone I don't know? Sure, I'd like to thank them... but this is my life. I should find my own purpose," he comprehended.
...
..
.
He sighs. He tries to envision what he could do.
"All I had in mind was to change myself and spend my everyday life... with her. Now that she's gone, I lost my purpose. I need a starting point... where I could find a purpose once more..."
"...a starting point..."
Deeply in thought, Hazel looks at him only to see him not listening to the class, "Huh? Um..."
"He's speaking weird things again," she thought.
"A starting point... would be to make a friend once more... to fill the gap in my heart. Yeah, that could work," he concluded.
He examines the classroom, one by one analyzing the faces of the students.
"Who should I be friends with?" he questioned himself.
He focuses on his two seatmates, Hazel at his left, and a guy to his right.
"As much as possible, I would like someone to talk by my side, so maybe a seatmate would do?" he thought.
He looks at the guy beside him and then looks at Hazel trying to break his indecisiveness.
"I should try befriending a guy," he figured.
He taps the shoulder of the guy beside him. The guy looks at him but he ignores him.
"Um, hey?"
The guy was particularly in a bad mood, "What is it? We're having a lesson, so if you could, please make it short."
"W-What's your name?"
"Seriously? Even after three years, you still don't..." he grunts, "I'm Gastic Jif, what business do you have with me?"
"Um, c-can you be my friend?"
With a surprised expression, he clarifies what was just asked of him, "Huh?"
He laughs at his question, mocking how childish it sounded, "AHAHAHAHHAHAHA! I didn't know you were a funny guy."
"I wasn't jokin-"
"Look here, if you're thinking of being friends with me, then forget it. If I became friends with you, the Cursed Child, then what would happen to my reputation? Geez, no wonder you fell from first rank."
He stared at his desk contemplating the child's harsh words. He was deeply scarred, so such words would wound anyone with trauma.
"To be insulted by a child... I sure have come a long way," he pitied himself as tears started running down his eyes and to his cheeks.
"NO! I mustn't give up. Just forget what he said and ask my other seatmate," he thought as his tears temporarily halted. In desperation, he turns to his other seatmate, Hazel.
"What if she says the same thing?" he hesitated.
He looks at his hands and clenches them to show his resolve.
"Might as well try."
He taps Hazel's shoulder. She slowly looks at him with a somehow terrified face though her eyes were not exactly fixated on him but above him.
"W-What is it?"
"Why is she shaking? Is she scared or nervous?" he questions himself.
She inhales greatly and finally exhales.
"Y-You need me for something?" she asked while her eyes were alternating between an area above him and Phize himself.
"I know this may be sudden but would you willing to be my friend?"
She continues to glare at the area above him.
"Hm, what are you looking at?"
She rubs the question off, "Oh, nothing, nothing. Sure why not?"
She concentrated on him now.
"She's kinder than my other seatmate. I think I made the right chance," he thought.
The bell rings.
12:00 NN
"Oh, it's lunchtime," Phize thought.
Hazel stretches over her desk.
"HIYAAHH! That sure was a long lesson wasn't it?"
"I-I guess?"
"I wasn't listening at all," he recalled.
"How about this? Let's eat lunch together."
"Huh?"
"To celebrate the first day of our friendship!"
"Ah yes yes, good point."
They both head to the cafeteria. Inside the cafeteria, there were groups of students sitting on circular stools near the rectangular tables and they happen to stumble upon one empty place. They sit down facing each other on the long part of the rectangular table.
"What'd ya get?" she curiously asked.
"A mayonnaise sandwich," he answered with a low voice.
"Woah, is it your favorite food or something?"
"Not really, it's more of... a tribute."
"Ohh."
...
..
.
"Um... I have some fried chicken that my mother made me."
She opens her lunch box and shows it to him.
Inside the lunch box was shown to be two chicken wings covered in breading fried to a crisp with rice and some of its juices leaking through the rice.
"Woah," he said so with a bit of drool coming out of his mouth.
"Would you like some?"
"Is it ok?"
"Sure thing."
"Her kindness makes me remind of my past best friends," he thought.
"He's kinda gloomy. I should try to be a bit kinder to him," she thought.
She puts rice and a bit of chicken on a spoon and she raises it to his mouth.
"Here."
"What?"
"I'm feeding you."
His mind suddenly panics, "Oh no. No. No."
He violently shakes upon hearing an offer. It reminded him of a specific someone. He hastily grabs the spoon.
He stutters, "T-Thank you, b-but I think I c-can feed myself."
He eats the food inside the spoon.
"Thank you."
He gives back the spoon to Hazel.
"T-Thank you."
...
..
.
"Um, Phize, I'm sure this is ridiculous, but have you heard of ghosts?" she asked trying to clear the mood.
"Ghosts? I don't think they exist."
"Well, I don't wanna surprise you but there's a ghost behind you right now."
He looks behind him.
"There's nothing the-"
"BOO!"
"Huh?"
"Huh? Did that not get you?"
She chuckles.
"I guess I have to try a bit harder," she said as she smiles at him.
He is dumbfounded from seeing her.
"Please. No. Not that innocent smile..." his mind panicked.
Within his thoughts, the image of Pallitra appears.
"We don't need to be shy when we know what we feel about each other, right?" Pallitra smiles while declaring.
Phize stares at the ground and holds his head with both of his arms to try and control himself. His mind was slowly being overtaken by past memories of her.
"P-Phize?"
He cries.
"NO. NO. NO. NO!" he shouted in his mind.
He runs away from the table.
"I'M SORRY!"
He exits the cafeteria and runs through the hallways. He finds the boys' bathroom with 3 stalls, he goes inside one of them and locks himself up. He slowly sits down on the toilet and then lets his tears flow.
"I CAN'T DO IT AFTER ALL! I CAN'T! I CAN'T! I CAN'T! IT HURTS SO BAD!"
The tears drip one after the other on his chin.
"Why... why..."
"I thought making new friends would fill the hole in my heart. BUT WHY... WHY DOES IT FEEL SO WRONG?!"
"It's as if the hole in my heart grew larger instead. It hurts... it hurts so bad..."
END OF EPISODE 20
He cries."God... I'm pathetic..."He stares at the ground.Inside his mind, thoughts of regret lingers, "I shouldn't have come to school... I shouldn't have tried..."Someone knocks on the door of the stall he was in."Hello? Phize?"It was Hazel."P-Please leave me alone for now...""I'm sorry...""What for... I don't understand why you should be apologizing to me...""You're going through something aren't you? Sorry for being so passive about it. I was just..." she stops in between her words, "...I was going through many problems at the time as well.""It's okay..." he says with a forced tone."NO, IT'S NOT! To be honest, I didn't feel much at the disappearance of Pallitra because we weren't close. But from the looks of it, the two of you were very close and something bad must've happened to her."He wipes his tears. The bell rings."Oh, the bell rang."Utter silence is
Inside the classroom..."We made a deal earlier that I and Hazel would be strangers until I accepted the fact that Pallitra is gone. Though with that said, I don't exactly regret talking to her, it sort of gave me... reassurance with myself."He looks at Hasha standing in front of her desk."I might as well listen to the discussion for now..." he thought."In this world, there are many types of magic, we have 6 major types of magic which are specifically Rock, Fire, Water, Wind, Light, and Dark Magic. We have some minor types and some examples of these are Creation Magic, Storage Magic, and much much more. But first, let's go into them one by one...""It's been a while since I listened to a discussion. Though I don't think I can force myself to progress with the case of her loss, I can at the very least progress, with something else," he murmured.Back at home, Phize is at the table eating with Lizia, his little brother, Lexia, and Vhint.
"B-But, I'm not really good at teaching," Vhint announces."I only know magic..." Lexia worries."That's alright!" he said with an earnest smile.Lexia sees the bright smile and decides to smile back at him."You're pretty motivated for this, aren't you?" she asks him even though she already knew the answer."Of course, mom!""I'm glad he's getting better," she thought."Alright then! We'll start teaching you tomorrow! You better not slack!" she warned him."I wouldn't dream of it!"Another day ends and the day starts once more, at a clear plain field only a few meters away from the hotel they live in.Clash. The sound of wooden swords hitting their blades is heard on the fields. Both the father and son fight. Vhint holds his wooden sword against Phize, he's clearly panting. He tries to provoke him, "Come on, son! I'm sure you can do better than that!""I am doing my best!"They stare at each
Once more, Vhint and Phize fight on the same grassy fields."Did you take my advice from last time?""Yes, dad.""Since he told me how to use my peripheral vision, it's almost like I widened my vision as a whole," he thought."Ready to put yourself to the test?" Vhint questioned."Of course!""Alright then, first let's position ourselves," Vhint declared.Slowly but surely, they back away from each other."Alright then, in 3... 2...1..."Phize approaches Vhint and attacks him with a slash, only to be blocked by his own wooden sword."Remember, your sword is your offense and defense," Vhint teaches.Vhint swings his sword to counter his blow and it pushes Phize with enough force to blow him back. However, he still remains standing.Once again, Phize makes another attempt and charges right at him while Vhint uses a downward slash.Phize swiftly dodges to the right and goes for a pierce.V
Everyone in class is chattering about and then Hasha enters the classroom.Feeling lively, she greeted them, "Good morning, everyone!"Everyone in the class answered, "Good morning, teacher!""All of you seem excited! I'm sure all of you have heard of today's event right?""A TOURNAMENT!""Precisely! Now then, everyone lines up outside, because we're going on a trip to the arena! With the exception of the candidates, the candidates will be following someone else. They would be following the school principal! Eauvis Monsoor himself!"The students were found aghast."I'm sure he should arrive around..."Suddenly, Eauvis enters the classroom and passes through Hasha, she wasn't expecting him to arrive so she was set back."Good morning, children," Eauvis greets the students."Good morning!""I'm sure all of you are already waiting in anticipation for today's event, and I shall not make this announcement any lo
Phize slowly loses his altitude. While he was airborne, Oltrin aims his magic circle toward him."Right... there."He then activates his spell, "Guide me, spirits of the air, and let me blow away my troubles, GREAT WIND!"A strong gust of wind comes out of his magic circle and approaches the airborne child. The wind hits him causing his trajectory to go off. The unanticipated event makes him panic."WHAT HAPPENED?!"He focuses on the ground."I'M SO CLOSE TO THE GROUND! I NEED TO LAND SAFELY!" he thought."WATE-"Yal and Horka lock their gaze at Phize and magic circles form from their right hands."Why are they looking at me?"Yal chanted, "Reject!" while Horka chanted, "REPEL!" both punching Phize with their fists resulting in the young child being blown away."GYAH!"While being blown back, Hazel was running towards the goal until she suddenly noticed him flying at an oddly fast
An hour has elapsed. On his seat, Phize is drinking water from a water bottle. The man enters the room and all the attention was focused on him and him solely."Get ready students, it's time for the second event. Stand up and follow me," he reported. The students leave their water bottles and follow the man outside into the wild field arena."Woah," Phize thought. The crowd from the stadium went wild and cheered as loud as they could. Amongst the voices, the man went to the center of the arena."Alright! Everyone gather up here!"And as the man commanded, the children were now before him."Before we begin our next event, I welcome you all for attending this big event. Our next event is entitled 'Owner of the Sword', it is a celebration represented in a form of a game in big events to honor the swordsmen who fight for our country, Veril. In order to honor those swordsmen, namely the Ten Knights of Heaven."Two men arrive,
Hazel focused on Phize, she finally received a fight filled with a burning passion."Now, that's what I'm talking about. BUT YOU BETTER CATCH ME FIRST!"She stood up, picked up the swords, and ran to the collector up north. He chased after her."DAMMIT! I'M GONNA HAVE TO USE MAGIC AGAIN AFTER ALL!" he grumbled. He chanted, "ROCK WALL!" and aimed in her direction, forming a wide rock wall in front of her path. She tried going around the wall by heading to the west but a beam shot towards the area."Stop right there.""I'm so close to the collector, are you sure you're gonna be able to keep up with me?"She examined him."What are you gonna do? You know magic isn't gonna stop me from this distance and you don't even have a wooden sword.""ICICLE BARRAGE!"He fired the spell at her, a bunch of icicles head her way but she dodged the projectiles by rolling to her right. She took a glan
