When the rest of the squad members heard the captain explain Max's plan to them, apart from those in on it, the rest of the squad were surprised. Nina even cursed out loud, clearly rebuking the plan for being ridiculous.
At this moment, the alarms were still ringing, and the squad has wasted a bit of time dealing with this issue. The captain, realizing the situation, quickly dismissed the matter by saying.
"Alright, leave it. Now is not the time to settle this matter. Since the damage has already been done, there is nothing we can do about it. Let's just deal with things as they come."

He had purposely revealed himself so that the captain would discover him.This was easy enough to understand because if the psychic wanted to scheme with the scout without being discovered, he could have used telepathy to converse and the captain would have been none the wiser. The scout was sandwiched between the clones of the captain and he had no way of retreating. At the same time, the two clones clawed at the scout. One reached for the scout's head while the other aimed at his waist.
