Once the captain of Trapp's temporary squad and Max, his lieutenant, were out of ear's reach from the rest of the squad, the captain immediately demanded an answer from Max.
Max was surprised.
Although he guessed that the captain would suspect him for causing Trapp's sudden disappearance, or perhaps already did, he didn't expect that he would ask him outrightly like this.
It was as if the captain was already sure that he had a hand in it. Although Max could not confirm if this was true, he still tried to feign ignorance in front of him.
Putting on a confused look on his face, Max answered, "I-I don't understand what you mean. What did I do?"
