Originally, before Trapp joined the current squad, there were twenty members in the squad who had gone through life and death together. Unfortunately, during their last mission, one of their teammates died in the line of duty and a vacancy opened up in the squad.
As is normal practice, all squads that were assigned on missions had to have a minimum of twenty members. In the case of a squad losing one or more of their members, they could either wait for the higher-ups to assign a new member to their squad or attempt to recruit someone for themselves from the batch of new recruits available.
The way the military of most noble families operated is unlike the formal armies of the royal families of other civilizations in the universe. Most of the soldiers train in noble families operated in a half mercenary system where each squad had all autonomy in choosing the missions they went on. It was only when the noble family needed to fight in a war or territorial dispute that
"What the hell did you do?"Once the captain of Trapp's temporary squad and Max, his lieutenant, were out of ear's reach from the rest of the squad, the captain immediately demanded an answer from Max.Max was surprised.Although he guessed that the captain would suspect him for causing Trapp's sudden disappearance, or perhaps already did, he didn't expect that he would ask him outrightly like this.It was as if the captain was already sure that he had a hand in it. Although Max could not confirm if this was true, he still tried to feign ignorance in front of him.Putting on a confused look on his face, Max answered, "I-I don't understand what you mean. What did I do?""Come on, what are you asking me here?""Cut the crap, Max! Don't give me that bullshit. I know you had something to do with that kid's disappearance. I can see the sneaky look in your eyes when you look at the rest of the squad. You and a few of them must have come tog
"Who the hell came up with such a foolish idea?" "They must be both dumb and stupid at the same!" When the rest of the squad members heard the captain explain Max's plan to them, apart from those in on it, the rest of the squad were surprised. Nina even cursed out loud, clearly rebuking the plan for being ridiculous. At this moment, the alarms were still ringing, and the squad has wasted a bit of time dealing with this issue. The captain, realizing the situation, quickly dismissed the matter by saying. "Alright, leave it. Now is not the time to settle this matter. Since the damage has already been done, there is nothing we can do about it. Let's just deal with things as they come." "Get up." Picking max up from the ground, the captain tossed him to Nina as he said to him. "I'll deal with you later." "Nina, fix him up, will you? Don't let him drag us down more than he already has." "Alright boss," Nina answered a
The unknown group of people were dragged into the hall by the soldiers and brought in front of the man, who looked like the superior in charge of this section. Trapp watched attentively while paying attention to every little detail.Trapp counted the number of people in the captured group and he counted about twenty people, just like his previous squad. Among these people who were captured, all of them were injured and bruised, some more seriously than others. There were even three who were dragged in by the soldiers, and from the looks of their injuries, they were definitely in critical condition. If they were not treated in time, those three were very likely to die.Trapp watched on emotionlessly, without caring for the state of the group at all. Even though they were from the same side and fighting under the banner of the Avalon family, Trapp was not going to put himself in danger to attempt to rescue them. With the eyes of a predator, Trapp silently w
"Good job of apprehending these intruders. You have made a significant contribution." the superior officer praised the soldier who had apprehended the second infiltrating squad. This pleased the soldier greatly, but he kept his expression neutral and asked, "What are your orders now, sir?""How are we to deal with these intruders?"The superior officer thought for a moment as he looked at the captured squad kneeling before him. He greatly enjoyed this feeling of standing high above others with the power to decide the fate of his enemies. This feeling gave him a profound sense of elation and excitement. But for some reason, the superior officer could not seem to enjoy this feeling at the moment. The superior officer's instincts were telling him that there was something wrong here... something that he had missed. Although the captain did not know what it was that he had missed, he didn't doubt his feelings at all. This kind of gut instinct was
After Trapp decided to wait and keep an eye on the superior officer, he suddenly caught sight of some unusual activity after waiting for two minutes. In a corner of the hall, from one of the intersections, Trapp noticed a faint shimmer in the air.As soon as Trapp noticed this, he immediately squinted his eyes and focused on that spot even more. Trapp did not know if his eyes were playing tricks on him, but at times like this, even the tiniest bit of oddity could not be dismissed.Trapp focused his full attention on that corner of the hall. Ten seconds passed and just as Trapp started to believe he was imagining things, he suddenly saw that faint shimmer again. This time, Trapp was sure he wasn't seeing things. Immediately, Trapp closed his eyes and focused on using his other senses to scan the area.Trapp determined that whatever was causing that shimmer in the air was not something he could detect with his eyes. Since he couldn't do so, Trapp was
Sorry guys for the month long hiatus. I was taking this time to prepare another book that I was going to use to participate in the latest contest on Meganovel. Now I am done with that and it will be added to my current books. I hope everybody can check it out and support me. The name of my new book is: Brothers Together: Us Against Doom. Don't forget to check it out, okay? Currently, I have four books that I am writing and I feel like I may have bitten more than I can chew with them. But I promise to continue uploading at least one chapter daily for all four books... at least I will try. Please bear with me on this one, okay? Thanks for your understanding and support and a wonderful reading to you all!
Trapp continued to watch on as the scout carefully approached his teammates in his concealed state. As he watched, Trapp could not help to compliment the skills of the scout... his concealment ability was very advanced. Although it was not perfect and there were flaws that could expose him, the scout used his incredible skills to make up for those flaws. For example, although the scout's concealment ability could obscure his appearance and make him invisible to the naked eye, it could not conceal the sounds of the scout's footsteps or the smell on his body. Also, the visual concealment was not perfect because when the scout moved, it was still possible to notice traces of his existence. This was how Trapp had noticed him in the first place. But despite these flaws, the scout was able to move soundlessly, and he did not emit any odor or smell. Also, when he moved, he limited the speed of his movement so that the traces of his movement were almost unnoticeable. This prov
The hidden scout finally revealed himself and he was making a beeline towards their leader, who was located at the head of the group of captives. As it turns out, the psychic from before was actually bait, used to lure the captain away from the front of the group so that the scout could rescue their leader first. He had purposely revealed himself so that the captain would discover him. This was easy enough to understand because if the psychic wanted to scheme with the scout without being discovered, he could have used telepathy to converse and the captain would have been none the wiser. Every psychic had the basic telepathy talent. this was not to say that every telepath could become psychic, but every psychic definitely new telepathy. There was also a telepath present in Trapp's own team, but he was only responsible for bridging communication between all the members of the squad. He didn't show any other psychic abilities and probably wouldn't.That was
